Over the River and Through the Woods to Mickey's House We Go! And Grandma is in Tow!

Great snow pics! It is crazy, I live in Western NY (Near Rochester) and we usually get hit with a lot of snow, but we haven't gotten all that much lately, I snows a few times a week but not large amounts, but everyone I know that lives in other areas that don't get snow are getting pounded. My dad is in Philly and they have broken their All Time Snow Record. I have to say though, I love your dog, he is really cute!

Wow I had alot of catching up to do my computer got sick on the 3rd and I just got it back I was going crazy. OK so I'm all caught up.
I loved the story with you and Lacey and Hunter laughing in the kitchen:lovestruc
Mama eating snow off the birdfeeder is to funny!
We got about 3 1/2 inchs of snow here its the first time River has seen more than a flurry. Your snowman looks better then ours did. River said the same thing when we were out in the snow "it looks like Narnia"
Ok so now I have to head over to your TR and catch up there.

I'm all caught up now! Great updates.

Yay! for saving money. You're right - any bit helps.

I understand about the pin codes. I was so happy to have gotten my very first PIN code - danced around like an idiot - then put booking on hold to make sure I could afford to go. Wouldn't you know, by the time I signed back on to book, my "PIN code" had become the room rate discount that everyone could use! Oh, well, I still had a special pin code - even if it was only for 1 week!

The pictures of Lacey & her DBF are so cute. I love the one where she's jumping. Too cute.

Ya'll got way more snow than we did! Congrats on a fun snow day! It really did look like Narnia with all those pine trees. The pics are great - your mama eating snow off the bird feeder was too funny. And Oddball sure seemed to get a kick out of it all, too. Our Pomeranian, Shih Tzu, and Pekingnese all liked the snow, but our poor little Yorkie didn't like it at all. Of course, once he stepped into it, half his tiny body was covered in snow. I'm not sure I would have liked being covered up with a strange, cold, wet substance like that either! :lmao:

I hope you get your Disboards issues resolved soon. Sounds like a real PITA to get kicked off. :headache:

Looking forward to more updates!

Wow, you guys got a lot of snow. Looks like you had fun time with it, especially Hunter and Oddball! :)

It was a lot of snow for us for sure. We had a few flurries earlier in the year but nothing that stuck.

hey, I 'm joining in over from your TR!

I love all the snow, so funny cause up here in Canada I have only shoveled the driveway twice this year and I usually shovel more than that before Christmas.

Looking forward to hearing more trip plans. We are going in december and my mother is thinking about coming with us this year as well!

Enjoy the snow!!!

Gracious! I don't think I'd want to live where I was shoveling snow all the time. I'm more of a hope it snow once or twice a year kinda gal.

Wouldn't it be fun if you talked your mother into going?!?! It took us 10 years to get Mama to go back with us.

Hi Lisa!

I love all your pictures!!!:goodvibes It looks like you all really enjoyed the snow!! Great snow angel and snowman!! We still haven't made a snowman this year!!:sad2:--and with all the snow we get up here, you'd think we would have made tons by now. Oh well...so glad to see somebody enjoying it so much.:) I guess we just take it for granted here since it seems like we see more snow than grass year round. :rolleyes1

Girlfriend! What's wrong with you guys? No snowman yet? We were excited to see what little snow we got.....guess you could tell by the way we were running around like clowns.:lmao:

Yay for saving money!
Yay for a Dis Meet

Great snow pics. Looked like lots of fun! Your dog is very cute!!

I'm so excited about the Dis Meet. I remember seeing pictures of the Massive Dis Meet and thought how cool it would be to do something like that.

Oddball is a mix of min-pin and we don't know what. He was a shelter puppy and we absolutely love him.

That's been happening to me too, drives me nutty!!

I think last night was the first time I could log in just once and stay logged in. I'm glad to know it wasn't just me who was having the problems.

Looks like you guys had fun in the snow, Lisa. Personally, I'm sick of the stuff...we got six more inches at least today. And I'm the one that ended up shoveling the driveway and the walk, since I was the first one home. Boy, am I out of shape!!! We actually had school today - a two-hour delay, but that actually had us driving when it was worse. I think we might have been the only school in the county in class today between the snow and the fact that it was President's Day. Last week we were one of the few that were closed. I can't see any rhyme or reason to this new superintendent's reasons for calling school. Not that I want to make them up, but driving was bad today. We just shouldn't have been there!

I managed to finally point my TA in the right direction for a discount on our Disney trip. We saved about $340!! She swears it wasn't the room-only discount, but I'll take it anyway!!! :cool1: It's great to save a bit on vacation, isn't it?

Looking forward to more plans. Eventually, I have to figure out some of my own...I think they might have shut down my PTR due to neglect!!!

If I had as much snow that you guy have and had to shovel my way out, I'd be hatin' on the snow. They closed our school down when it was just a few snow flurries and nothing was sticking.

I'm so glad that your travel agent was finally able to get your discount. All total, we have saved between $600 and $700 since I originally booked the vacation.

Hey there!! Congrats on saving money! every little bit counts!!!I was looking at your snow and thinking..how cute!!LOL I wish we had that little bit! We have had over 30 inches in MD over the last couple of weeks..schools have been closed for over a week!

30":eek::eek:! I'd be having a fit if we had that much! I'll stick with our 3 to 5 inches thank you very much!

I just started a pre trip report!

I've come over and posted.

HEY EVERYBODY! Head over and take a look at Nettabook's plans!

Who gave the snowman a belly button? :lmao::rotfl2:

Your pictures are absolutely beautiful :thumbsup2. You need to submit some of them in a photo contest. You would win :thumbsup2. I wish we had gotten as much snow as ya'll. Ours only lasted about 2 hours. I'm like you though I will take what I can get.

I am still having the Dis problems..............grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

I didn't even notice that until you pointed it out. Love it! You'll notice in our first pictures, there weren't any reinforcement belly buttons and that's why it kept leaning further and further.

Thanks for the compliment on the pictures. I took so many but I think the ones of the snow covered pine trees are my favorite. Oh, and the ones with John and Hunter falling are pretty funny.

I love the video with Hunter & Oddball! It looks like you guys had more snow than we have had this season!!

I was thinking about you when I was taking pictures of Oddball. I actually told John that I had to get a couple of shots of Oddball standing still so you could look at them.

great snow night pictures...what a great snowman!
looks like you guys really enjoyed yourselves...
:mickeyjum to a great May dismeet!!! :mickeyjum
you guys are going to have lots of fun!

Even though Lacey was home for less than 24 hours, it was so good to see her and laugh with her and spew tea with her.

My mother would do just about anything that Hunter or Lacey asked her to do. You'd think a 76 year old woman would have more sense.:rotfl:

I bet ya'll were excited to see the snow. Isn't it odd that both Hunter and River said it looked like Narnia.

Great snow pics! I guess we got some of the snow that you usually get. I'll gladly take it but every once in a while.

Isn't Oddball the cutest thing ever. When we got him, he would fit in the palm of John's hand. He was just 6 weeks old. His mama was a min-pin so we thought he'd stay little. He's not that big but he isn't little either. But, we love the heck out of him.

I'm all caught up now! Great updates.

If I thought I could save $20 on my Disney trip, I'd have called. A penny saved is another penny I can spend while actually at Disney.

The pastor's wife took a lot more pictures of Lacey and Jesse but those three were her favorites....especially the jumping one.

I don't blame you one bit for dancing around when you got a pin code. You can bet I'll be dancing if I ever get one. Let's just hope by the time I get it, I'm still in good enough shape to actually dance.

We had a great time playing in the snow. You'd have thought we had a foot of it the way we were acting. You know how often we get snow in Louisiana.....every 10 years or so.:rotfl:

I'm so excited about the Dis meet!

I've been trying to post all day long but the boss is in one of those moods. He was supposed to be out of town in court all day. Imagine my surprise when he walked in the office around 11:00 a.m. What the hay? I wanted him to be gone all day.

I don't know what bee is buzzing around in his bonnet but I'm about ready to give it a whack just to keep him from fussing. Even if I don't kill that darned bee, I'll feel better 'cause I'll have put a knot on his noggin. :rolleyes1 He never fusses at me but he likes to fuss about everybody and anything else. They say women are moody. He needs to get over it or he'll have one heck of a moody paralegal on his hands and that ain't what he wants right now.;)

Anyway, I took Mama shopping this weekend for Disney clothes. Since she was diagnosed with fatty liver last year, she's been on a pretty strict diet and she's lost a lot of weight....two sizes to be exact. Her shirts still fit her pretty good but her old capris just hang on her. Can't go to Disney looking like a ragamuffin.

Saturday morning, we went to the mall and went to J.C. Penney first. They had a lot of 60 and 70 percent off racks. We are going to the Spirit of Aloha luau and she wanted to find a pretty hawaiiany looking shirt. Ya'll do know that that's a real word right....hawaiiany.

Anyway, we found a really cute bright pink abstract/flowery looking shirt that had a little tank/camisole underneath. And, we found a green and cream plaid button up shirt. She took them into the dressing room and I sat outside in the waiting area. She tried on the green shirt first and it fit her perfectly. It was only $5.97! She said she was going to try on the hawaiiany shirt and let me see it. I waited and I waited and I waited. If I hadn't been able to see Mama's feet underneath the door, I would have started getting worried and have busted down the door. I mean seriously, I waited 15 minutes for her to put on a stupid shirt.

Finally, she opened the door a crack and told me to come here. She couldn't get the shirt on. The tank/camisole was sewn in backwards. :confused3 She had maneuvered it so she could get the tank on with the shirt draped over her back but then couldn't get the shirt on 'cause it was backwards. It was a hot mess. I helped her get it on without the tank. I told Mama that if there were any hidden cameras in there, I bet security was having a high ole time laughing at us monkeys.

Once we finally got it on, it didn't fit right. Lord have mercy! It took about 30 minutes to try on that one shirt. One shirt and she didn't get up getting it.

So, her purchase at Penney's was just the one shirt but she scored a great price.

Next, we walked over to Sears. Used to, I hated Sears. Hated it with a passion. Don't really know why but I did. But, lately, they have had some cute clothes. A few weeks back, I happened to see that they were already putting out their Spring clothes and I noticed some capris hanging on the wall.

I am a clearance rack sniffer-outter. If there's a clearance rack in the store, I'm going to find it. Stores always put their clearance racks at the back corners or on the back wall and I feel this gravitational pull to them. :rotfl: I felt the tug and went with it. Right to a rack of clearance capris. They said $17.99 and then you took an additional 40% off.

She ended up buying a pair of white capris. I know! I know! Who in the world wears white pants to Disney World? My Mama! She got the white capris, a pair of khaki capris and a pair of brown capris. We also found a cute pink with brown stripe polo type shirt and a dark pink with navy stripe polo type shirt. She insisted on buying me a shirt too because I took her shopping.

We took all the items up to the counter and the capris rang up $5.99 each! The shirts? Just $2.99 each! She got all that stuff for less than $30.00! See, I told you I could sniff out a clearance rack!

Okay, I've bored ya'll with the shopping trip details and it's time to shut this office down for the evening. Chat with ya'll later!

Men are such babys....:lmao:

You would be proud of me. I went to Walmart today and saw some cute shirts for men. They were on clearance for $7 and while I was looking at them the lady working in that section told me she was just about to mark them down to $5. Needless to say I got Dallas three shirts and Tyler one. I got Dale a Hawaiian shirt for $11. Then I went over to the ladies department and I found me a pair of capris for $7. I also found a $9 Tink shirt, it wasn't on clearance, but it matches the capris :thumbsup2.

Whoo Hooo for the deals. I am like you, always can find the sale or clearance rack. People ask me all the time how I can afford to dress my kids in Gymboree. Um, sales. I have NEVER paid full price for anything there!
I used to be a Sear's hater as well. They do have some cute Lands End stuff there now. I need some new capri's-maybe I will go tomorrow.

Hello Lisa,
I have to agree with everybody that a lot of your snow pictures were really good :thumbsup2. But I also have to say I do not like snow :sad2:.(we have enough that I would gladly share with you all) I heard when the snow finally stopped that day every State but Hawaii had snow on the ground. You and my wife are the same when it comes to bargains, she can find a clearance rack at a truck stop, is a garage sale queen and I love her for "all the money shes saves me".

I love deals too. I have friends who say the ywant to follow me around becuase I can find deals. You hust have to look and be there at the right time. I don't always find great deals, but when I do I usually take advantage. LOL! I did get a pair of jeans for $7.50 the other day. They aren't fabulous, just generic brand, but I needed a pair that fit me better since I am sort of in between my fat jeans and skinny jeans I have stored away, so I was happy with the deal.

She had maneuvered it so she could get the tank on with the shirt draped over her back but then couldn't get the shirt on 'cause it was backwards. It was a hot mess.

:lmao::lmao::lmao: I can imagine...because I've been in that same situation!

YES! :thumbsup2 My oldest daughter always complains, that if it doesn't have a red sticker on it at Target, we don't bring it home!

Way to go on your shopping bargains! :woohoo:

I, too, love a good bargain! People are always remarking how I can spot the bargains from across the store - like an eagle. All I have to do is scan a room, and I zoom in on the bargains. It's a talent. :snooty: I'm glad you share in this great gift! :thumbsup2

It sounds like your mama is going to be a snazzy dressed lady at Disney World! Reminds me that I need to start looking through my clothes & trying them on to see about fit, wear & tear, etc. I have lost some weight in weird places, so not all of my clothes fit too well. Hopefully my summer "vacation" clothes aren't like my work clothes. I just bought them all last year & didn't wear most of them past our Disney trip. The best bargain of all is not having to replace clothing in the 1st place. :rotfl:

I just found your PreTrip report. Only on page 6, really need to get some sleep, work in the morning. Great report. I tried a TR but felt like I was always rambaling on and on and on.......:lmao:

We have never made the drive to disney before. We have only been twice and flew both times. Our next trip, we decided to save on airfare because we went last year and my in-laws want to go with us in 2011. This will be our first trip, just us 4. My parents came with us before.

Can't wait to continue reading your PTR...

Good morning Lisa!

Great job! on the shopping deals! I went yesterday and finally bought a pair of shoes...I don't normally wear tennis (do people still call them that--ended up with what they call trainers) I don't like those big chuncky styles on my feet when I wear shorts. But, they are white Nike's on sale (you knew they would be) :lmao: Need to take pictures today of all our vacation stuff.
:wave2:

Great deals, I can't wait to get to the US both kids need runners but i am putting it off until we get there, they are way cheaper there then here.
