outside shower?

Hello all. I did a search and couldn't find anything about this topic, but forgive me if I missed something and I am asking an obvious question.

We are heading to the fort this summer in our popup :cool1: We will be on a full hookup site, so I have an easy place to dump the portapotty (we have three younger children).

Here's my question. Our popup has an outside shower. We just got one of those cabanas for the portapotty, but I noticed it has two "rooms" in the cabana. One for a potty and one for a shower. Is it allowed in the campground to shower outside on your site? It seems like a lot of grey water? Is this allowed? Do many do this even if it is allowed? My DH and I will be showering in the bath houses, but I was asking more for my little ones...as it will be much easier to do showers at the site. It just seems to be not too environmentally friendly :confused3

Any and all advice would be much appreciated :thumbsup2

This is a good question. We have a popup with an outside shower too but have never used it. I have seen on this board where some people bath their kids in those store bins. Maybe you could have the little ones stand in a bin inside your cabana and then dump the water down the sewer drain? :confused3 Interested in what others have to say.

Ha...yeah...I kind of felt silly asking, but I really wanted to know what the rules are.

Thats a good idea about the "tub". Maybe hook up a type of siphon...similar to emptying a fish tank??? Haha...that would be an interesting setup :lmao:

Thanks for the advice though :goodvibes

I really don't know the specific answer to your question.
However, here is my take on it.
Shower water is technically 'grey water', and I have never been at any campground where it was acceptable to drain your grey water onto the ground.
Just my opinion.
I'm sure someone on here will have a more definitive answer.
If not, I would make a phone call.

I agree with this. Shower water IS gray water.

Ok...so seems I should have checked with my husband first :rotfl: He saw me sitting here reading the responses and said...well I was just going to bring a pump and pump it out of the bin/blow up kiddie pool into the sewer (after rolling his eyes). Shows you what I know...lol!

In any event thanks for the replies :goodvibes
