Did/Do you plan on bringing in outside entertainment for your ceremony and pre reception? I would like to have a string quartet play at the ceremony and cocktail hour but found a much better price than Disney's. Is this allowed? Are there restrictions? I would hate to book and find out later there is a charge. I know there is a 900 charge to bring in your own DJ, but this is different..at least in my opinion.

The only restriction is the standard prohibition on non-Disney entertainment at outdoor resort locations and inside the parks. If your wedding and pre-reception are at, say, the Wedding Pavilion and the Grand Floridian Convention Center, you're OK. There is no fee for bringing in entertainers who don't require a stage (the way DJs and bands do).

Thanks for posting this question, i would never have thought disney would allow this lol. You have gave me something to ponder over :)

Well its definitely worth pondering! I just booked a String Trio through an outside company (who are actually Disney contracted musicians and are often hired by Disney) to use in conjunction with the Organ/Piano player for my ceremony and cocktail hour. The price listed in PassPorters versus what I will actually pay, tip included is a difference of OVER $1000.00!! :scared1: I definitely think its worth your time and effort searching for an outside vendor in this case. For other things maybe not, because of convenience and other things but I gave up that dream of a String Trio a long time ago and it turns out Im getting my dream for a lot less money! Hooray!! Good luck and happy hunting! Let me know if you'd like the comapny's info! :wizard:

I wonder if I would be able to do this if my reception is at ADH? Our LOA says we have to use Disney's entertainment for ADH but maybe not for the WP?

For the WP I *think* you'd be okay to use someone else, I hope they wouldnt completely block you from using outside vendors even for the parts not at ADH. Its worth a shot at asking your planner! Good luck! :wizard:

Hey can I get the info for this company? My planner said it was ok to use an outside vendor for the WP only, not at ADH. Do they have a website?

Would anyone know if, say a small group of Mummers (Group of string band players who wear very ornate sequined costumes) would be permitted inside the GF reception hall for a short performance and if so would they need a permit or anything like that? Just wondering

That's awesome that they don't charge for outside entertainment. Do you think that they would charge for Mariachis? It's kind of a tradition in our family but Disney's prices they are out of their minds. I think they charge $7000. They wouldn't need a stage right? Carrie maybe you can answer this. :flower3:

No permit required! It doesn't matter what kind of band they are—as long as they don't require a stage/tech setup, there's no fee for using an outside vendor.

Right. Mariachis don't need a stage—it would be no different than if you brought in a string ensemble, except they wouldn't even need chairs! :teeth:

Thanks so much Carrie, you always come through. I am so surprised to hear this and will tell my Daughter. The Bride, Groom and most of the bridal party are mummers, of course not performing on the wedding day but they have expressed an interest in having a few drop in for a short performance. I did tell her that she should clear it with Disney. Thanks again.

FutureMrs.B, Your dress is amazing, you are going to look beautiful.

Thank you Disneemama. That's very sweet of you. :flower3:

Just to clarify, If I rent out the Bistro(Epcot France) or Jiko Wine room(AKL). Could I have my own singer sing if they didn't require a stage? I'm guessing no to Bistro and Yes to Jiko.
Thanks in advance.
