We put them up on a warm day in Novenber, but don't turn them on until we leave for Thanksgiving dinner.
Me too....just waiting for a nice, warmish day to do my outside lights. Maybe this weekend..should be in the 50's.

We'll probably put them up in the next couple weeks (when it's warmer outside) but they don't get turned on until Thanksgiving night. :)

I always put them up starting the first day of Advent. It was a tradition in my family growing up and one I still live by. That being said my DGD's 1st birthday party is that sunday and I will be in WDW right after so I may start the day after Thanksgiving this year. It will be the first time in 3 years I actually feel like decorating so I am looking forward to it.

We will probably put them up the second or third weekend of this month, we normally do it the third weekend but we may do it earlier this year. We don't turn them on until after Thanksgiving no matter when we put them up....DBF wanted to put the icicle lights up already, he had the ladder out when he was taking down the Halloween decorations. :) I'm actually thinking we might just set up the light up trees and the house lights and not do all the deer we usually do, I think I'd like to go low key this year. :)

We decorate for Christmas on Thanksgiving weekend. I like to keep fall decorations up for most of November and Thanksgiving Day.

At our house they go up he first weekend of December until Jan 7th.

I voted Dec but may put the lights up sooner so we don't freeze. I got a new outside Nativity after Christmas last year and I'm so excited to put it up!

DH is going to put the outside Christmas decorations up this weekend.

Day after Thanksgiving or that Saturday.

Our electric bill is over $300/month during winter. We don't put up outdoor lights anymore......and I noticed about half of our neighbors stopped putting up theirs too.

We put ours out the first weekend of December usually.

I actually would like to wait and do it even later to save money but DH doesn't want to wait and wants to have them turned on right after he gets them up.

Nice to see others opinions. Waiting for a warm day to put up lights, and stuff. Its nice being a second floor aparment dweller so I can put stuff up on the deck.

At DD's, December.. :) When I was still living in my own home, Thanksgiving Day..

LEDs are your friends. Get the faceted ones. You can string over 40 in series from a single outlet.
