Anyone else getting hit hard with high prices? I am looking at November and they keep climbing!!! With SW not coming out til May 6-that leaves not much competition.

Where are you flying to/from and what dates? If you are trying to go over Thanksgiving the prices will be high.

Nov 12-20. Out of Erie /Akron/ clev. To Orlando. I haven't flown in years. If this is the norm- it seems really high to me.

Suggest you go to www.kayak.com and set up some alerts for the dates you are traveling and the airports. Kayak will then send you emails with the latest airfares. Watch them for a while to get a feel for what a good price is. When you see something that looks good, jump on it.

I just looked at CLE to MCO for $321

PIT to MCO for a week in Nov is $290 on United

PIT to TPA is $237 on United for a Nov ticket TPA is not that bad of a drive to WDW only take an additional 40 minutes verses driving from MCO TO WDW

I love TPA it is such a quieter airport. You can drop off the rental car and be to your gate in less than 25 minutes!

Thx for checking. What is TPA?

We live an hr from Cleveland. 45 min from Erie. And 1- 1/2 hr from Akron.

We do not want to rent a car so....we need to use ME.

I will prob book the Erie one on Monday at $307. My husband likes Erie best out of all of them. That's the flight I've been watching that was $283 only couple of days ago grrrr!

A lot of ppl say to wait and book SW but they won't b up til may 6. I'm afraid if I wait then I will lose the Erie one if SW ends up not being a good price.

It's all really aggravating.

Prices took a huge jump yesterday. Tickets on United today are $200 more than I paid on Thursday....per person for a 1 way flight! I need to buy 1 more ticket since my DD decided to join us on our DCL cruise, so I'm hoping they come back down after the weekend.

I would go to kayak and get the alerts as suggested, you have plenty of time so don't rush. We are going in may, I watch the tickets in jan and feb, up and down and up but not by a lot, then one night they all jumped way up. I waited, three weeks before they dropped by $70 and I booked right away. That after noon they were up again, since that date they have been up by $50. So I got seattle for $307 for 5 people. I was happy with that.i put a price in my head of what I want to pay and then if it gets within $10 of that price I jump on it. The great thing is I got the airline I wanted also, well almost, I would love jet blue but won't ever get that from seattle to mco, first the flights are like 12 hours long with 5 hour lay overs, second they fly to some weird places. Anyway we got delta and we are fine with that.

I just got an alert that the fare dropped again, I could have saved $50 per person if I had waited. I never would have guessed that sea to mco would go as low as $260, wow that is cheap, hope someone else can catch that deal, I'm stuck but I am satisfied, $307 is not bad. We usually go on the fly, last minute, first time we knew three/four months in advance. Everyone said buy tickets early they no longer give deals out later, well their wrong, I always get the best airfare deals one month before we go. This time bought early and see prices do drop. I hope they don't get any lower or I will not be able to seat on rides, since I have to kick my ----.:rotfl2:

Stop looking! Or at least know the change fee with delta to see if it has dropped enough to justify calling them. But the general rule is to stop looking (and unsubscribe from any alerts you've set up) if you booked with an airline that has change fees. So if you had booked with Alaska, southwest, jet blue (who says they have fees but doesn't charge them), or AirTran, keep checking. Every other airline though, stop once you book!

I hate to say it, but while $300 from the upper midwest isn't a great deal, it's far from outrageous, especially for non-stop flights at times you like.

I agree. I haven't seen a thing for under $670. I'd kill for flights at $300. Heck I'd kill for flights under $500! LOL

The OP did say they hadn't flown in years though so I'll give 'em a break. :p

Thx for the break!! Haha

True I haven't flown in years. Some of the prices I see are in the $600 range as well. I am watching and they keep goin up! I will prob book this week so we'll see what I end up with. I wish I would have taken advantage of last weeks price of $283 RT!!!!! But I didn't realize what a great price that was until now!

Out of Portland, Delta has not yet released their discount economy fares (LUT), so prices are in the $500s for October.

See - now that is crazy to me.

Yep, me too. UA is about $370 (+/-), so I will wait for DL to put their LUT fares up.
