Right, on this coming trip we will actually make it to an outlet mall, now the question is which one. The only shop we plan on visiting is the disney outlet, and possibly some others if stuff catches our eyes. Also, do the disney outlets sell reduced price pins. I have a fair amount already for trading but I just found out today that we could also trade on the cruise ship so may need more and tend not to like buying lots off ebay. Thanks

Unfortunately for the last year or so the Disney outlet stores don't reduce pins like they used to. $4.99+tax is usually the lowest they go. We bought lots a few years ago at $1.99 + $2.99 but them days are gone.
I found this seller on Ebay, bought 1st 100 of ebay then 2nd 100 direct from his website. He sells 100 for $240 delivered worldwide. Only problem with last lot was I got clobbered for import tax, It was about £30, made the pins total around $3 each still better than Disney prices.
He is based near Disney, might be worth asking if you can collect or meet somewhere, if you offered his web price he would gain postage costs and you import tax.

We went to the new Prime outlet at the top of I drive. Much bigger and IMO better than Premium Outlets, and has a Disney outlet. (Character warehouse).
A lot of the shops weren't open, but were on the verge of opening. Mall at millenia is worth a visit, as is florida mall, but these aren't outlets as such and most of the gear is normal price, current season stuff.
Personally i'd just spend a fortnight in Outdoor world opposite Prime, but my wife would only let me have two hours this year!!:rotfl:

The Prime outlet definitely has the best Disney outlet and a lot more besides. If you only go to one outlet pick that one - much better than premium outlets.

Thanks for that guys. I think we'll take a visit to the Prime outlets, since I think it's nearer to our hotel on I-drive. We were going to visit them last year but by the time we got out of Festival Bay across the road, we were all dead on our feet.

As for the pins, thanks for the link, I may actually consider it, although the price of the outlet pins isn't too bad. I'm wondering whether the price for the import tax is linked to the price of the item, as I only want a small amount to add, 25, 50 at a push.

Yes it works on a % so less value you pay less heres a link to common internet goods, cant remember how they classed pins http://customs.hmrc.gov.uk/channels...ent&id=HMCE_PROD_009989&propertyType=document
50 pins in the outlets will cost around $265, you can have 100 delivered for that, of 50 deliverd for $125. The outlet prices only save around $1-2 on park prices, the ones they sell at $4.99 retail at around $6.50-$6.95.
Its a costly hobby, we have about 500-600 :scared1:

Personally prefer Premium Outlets as I feel the stores generally are of a better quality, as with all discount shopping it can be a bit hit and miss as many of the items on sale are out of season etc

Hmmm, looking at the Customs list, I think they would come under Jewellery which has a 4% duty rate and is also liable to VAT. This isn't so bad for the quantities I'm going to buy but I've got to wait a little while before I can buy them so I'll probably ask my sister if she wants some more as well, as it's obviously cheaper per pin to buy a large amount (and we can split the tax ;) )

I agree that it is a costly hobby, although I'd be very happy if I had as many as you, I only have about 125 in the collection through 2 years of trading.

We used to prefer Premium, as the old Beltz outlets were really run down, but I have to say in our last two trips (Dec 07, Apr 08), Prime has definitely become number one in our book!!

Yes, there are still a number of shops to open, but the majority are all up and running now. They have all the major brands that we like eg. Nike, Tommy Hillfiger, Ralph Lauren etc plus in addition they have a few new ones that we love eg. Oakley vault, Aldo shoes, Columbia etc. and my DD loves Juicy Couture!!

A good tip, join the discount clubs before you go (VIP for Premium/ 1club for Prime) and also check out the customer service 'hut' for more offers! You can often get some fantastic offers from there!

Enjoy your shopping!!

When was last time you visited Johnny? I am not a shopper but at Easter Prime looked a lot better, Disney outlet is twice the size. Its all brand new and massive.

pre 2006 for sure Wayne - to be honest the Disney outlet doesn't feature high on my shopping list. The Oakley store is more my kind of thing so I was going to pay a visit there.
I always found at Belz it was badly laid out, and could never find the shop I wanted to visit, whenever we are in that area it's just Festival Bay we have been to.

We always go to Premium Outlets early on the holiday as we buy our beach towels there, they are very cheap but good quality.

I meant the development is brand new and massive, not the Disney Outlet, You need to go back and look again, its been flattened and rebuilt. You won't recognise the place. Here a list of whats there http://www.primeoutlets.com/storedircatlisting.asp?cntrID=1077

Is it worth going to premium outlets at all now that Prime is opened? Last year when i was there, hardly any shops were open so we didnt stay long.

I need to try and limit the shopping excursions and if theres nothing different at Premium outlets then thats one less!! im hoping for only two, either prime or premium and the florida mall.

My missus is a shopaholic!!

Johnny,
You'll have to visit the Oakley Vault!! Mark got a great new winter coat from there at a fraction of the price! As for sunglasses, they have a good selection from about $69! Mostly old stock, so be careful to choose some that you can get replacement lenses for!! I was very good on our last trip and didn't buy a pair (have got 6prs now!!), but did get a few t shirts for $10! Have a great trip!

If you are into shopping then a trip to both is needed but just now Prime international is the larger of the 2, When Premium have finished expanding who knows which will be the best.

OK, I'm confused!?!?

The last time we came the best place was the Beltz. It was easy to get to and we could quite happily spend a good half a day there.

What has changed, we just heard that it had been taken over and was now called something else.

What is there now (Prime or Premium) and is it better than it was. If the same shops are there (or at another mall) we will be OK, but if everything has altered we will have to get some more info.

BTW, what's happened at the Pointe, we always liked taking the kids to FAO Schwartz, but have heard that they've closed, have they moved or gone completely?

Thanks in advance, Neil.

Hi,

Belz has been replaced now by Prime Outlets and has been renovated, though I am not sure if this is complete there are many new stores there.
It is still located in the same place.

A newer mall Festival Bay is opposite this also.

Premium Outlets is at the southern end of I drive and like Prime the home of many names such as Polo Ralph Lauren with stores selling items
at discounted prices.
If you compared the old Belz to Premium the latter in my opinion is better, however I have not yet been to the newly renovated Prime yet.

Pointe Orlando sadly over the years withered away with many stores likes Fao Schwartz closing down, however over the past couple of years or so it has also been the subject of much renovation.
There are still many stores there making it worth a visit and restuarants also too.

I suppose like us you need to return to both to get an up to date idea what they are like , unfotunately though there is no Fao Schwartz in Orlando now.

*edited I was going to post links but see Wayne has, Pointe Orlando link below however*

At its peak Belz was good but it went downhill, bought by Prime outlets totally flattened and rebuilt. Its now bigger and better (if you are into shopping, we go for about 3 stores)

Premium is just expanding, they have bought the Dixie Stampede land, probably trying to be bigger and better than Prime.

Then there is the samller one on SR535
http://www.lbvfs.com/

FAO Schwartz has completely gone as far as I know

Another vote for the Prime we went there Aug 07 it was lovely all nice and new still a few outlets that hadn't opened but the main ones were still there....

I've not had the chance to visit Fesitval Bay....what shops are there....
