Outlander Season 2

Oh, ok.. so they are running two separate timelines....makes sense... I was thinking it was supposed to be the *same one*

Oy! It's going to get confusing... lol

It was a little confusing to me but I think they have had to do this to speed up the books. Took me most of the way through the show to get my bearings. So I think what will see, simultaneously, is the France storyline leading up to Culloden and the other story line which is 203 years in the future where they go to America, she meets Joe, I think, she becomes a doctor, has a baby etc. I swear she was gone a good 20 years.

I totally think you are right... it makes perfect sense.

I'd like that theory except that they just cast B. Maybe they'll do it with child actors and not show her as a teenager until season 3?

I think they're going to gloss over most of the "present-day" timeline, but for the sake of not being too confusing they're presenting it in a more linear fashion than in the books (book 2 started with R & B as young adults, remember?). So instead of seeing Boston/med school/B's childhood in flashbacks within an already disjointed timeline, we'll see that side of the story as a straight line side by side with the straight-line of the past/France storyline.

I think she was at least gone for 20 years.

Also, my memory must be bad. I don't remember R until adulthood. Don't reall him as a kid in the books.

I think there was just one scene with him, kind of like we saw this week in the show, but in book one. Or maybe he wasn't actually there but the Rev. discussed the situation with Frank & Claire. Either way, when the second book opens from his POV he was a "known" character but just barely. But my memory isn't great either...

I agree that she was gone about 20 years, though. She waits until B is an adult and F is gone before going back to Scotland to pick up her hunt for what happened to Jamie.

I think I remember it that way as well... He was known... but not well known... and the rest of what you said too!

Last night was good. I like that they are featuring Murtagh more. I wish there was someway they could bring Rupert and Angus to France. They were great comic relief in season 1.

The dress that the woman was wearing...oh my! I wasn't a fan of the royal toilet scene...little odd. I can't remember if that was in the book...i remember the royal dressing, but don't recall them all watching him trying to poop.

I thought captain Randall's brother was well cast...I knew it was him as soon as he came on screen.

Enjoyed this episode also. I'm liking all the color and costumes!
