Outdoor movies at Ft Wilderness Resort

We will be at disney world in just over two weeks. Yay! Quick question... We'd love to go to the outdoor movie at fort wilderness resort...but we are not staying on disney property. I'm a little confused by info I've found online. Some sites suggest it's free and open to anyone! Others indicate it's for folks staying at any disney resort. Can anyone help me out? I'm thinking we could easily drive there. Or... Even hop a shuttle from downtown Disney or something to get there. We can be super flexible on transportation etc. Thanks so much!

My understanding is that it's open to anyone. Certainly anyone can visit FW. Visitors can park there and the transportation is also open to all.

If you do visit FW for the movie, give yourself plenty of time. You have to park at the entrance to the campground and take a bus to the movie area. It's quite a walk from the parking area, but I suppose you could do that if you really wanted to. A bus is probably easier.

It is a great time. We camp so we do it often! You can park at the front of Fort Wilderness and ride an internal bus or take a boat over from the Magic Kingdom. From the boat dock it is a bit of hike or again you can take an internal bus. The movies are held near the Meadows Trading Post in the center of the resort. Lots of people come to the Fort nightly for that as well as the dinner shows and other entertainment. Have fun! We are 22 days for our countdown so we are a week behind you!

We've gone for the sing-a-long portion with Chip and Dale and the little kids loved it. We've had a mixture of staying both on and off site and never had a problem telling the front gate we were visiting for the sing-a-long.
If you do go, be sure to bring fixings for s'mores or money to buy the kit.
