Crystal Palace with Pooh and Tigger
Princess Storybook Dining at Akershus
Supercalifragilistic Breakfast at 1900 Park Fare

DH and I will be with our DS8 and DD4.

Other character places we're planning on eating at are:

Chef Mickey's
Tusker House
Cinderella's Royal Table

Thanks for your opinions!

We did Crystal Palace with Pooh and Tigger in 2008 and Supercalifragilistic Breakfast at 1900 Park Fare this past January.

We liked the atmosphere at CP better than the restaurant in GF, and even though they are both buffet meals, we enjoyed the food at Supercalifragilistic Breakfast better.

So If I had to decide where I would go back to, for us, its CP.

I loved the interactions at both of your last selections when we went there in July (1900 Park and Akershus). As I havent done Crystal Palace for breakfast yet I cant give you a heads up on that one.

In all honesty though for the one table service at Akershus you get the same things you would at Cindy's table just without eatting in the Castle.

The food at both Akershus and 1900 Park was very lovely and tasty (although all my youngest DD wanted to eat the entire trip was bacon, waffles and grapes at breakfast). Each had something diffrent to try. At 1900 Park it's the strawberry soup and the create your own omlette station. At Akershus it's the Norwegan fare they serve for breakfast (Lingonberry muffins were soooo good and so was the breakfast potato dish).

For you, I'd do either Crystal Palace or 1900 PF. You'll see Pooh & Tigger at both places, so would you rather see Piglet & Eeyore (CP) or Mary Poppins, Alice, & the Mad Hatter (1900 PF). The food was okay at both places for us, nothing special. If you are in the park for breakfast, you're one step closer to the rides.

We have been to two of the places on your list: 1900 PF and CP.
1900 PF (for us) was boring and the food was just OK.
CP was much better. The food was better, Pooh and friends made the rounds in a timely manner, and I loved the atmosphere. Also, your already at Magic Kingdom, so there is no travel time after you eat...

We chose Crystal Palace and Chef Mickey's for breakfast. I really love starting off the day with a big hearty breakfast, same with DD who very rarely eats dinner. We picked these places partly because of location and partly because these are DD's fav characters. We are also having a dinner at CRT on a different day.

We haven't actually gone yet so I can't comment on the experience :)

I haven't done the middle one but of the other 2, I would choose Crystal Palace. The food was much better, although 1900 was good too. You can't go wrong with either one but I would lean towards CP. Plus with one son, since you are already doing CRT, I wouldn't do another princess breakfast.

I have been to all 3.

Breakfast in Norway is great for princess interaction and used to be our fav. but it changed a little bit, adding some of the things in a buffet and then rest of meal served family style. The best part (warm rolls) were served on a cold buffet after the change so that was a disappointment. We used to time this so we had breakfast and were one of the first people on the ride afterwards....

I like the different characters you get at 1900 Park Fare....and I think they appeal to both your son/daughter. We did this in Jan. for our daughter's birthday and they made it really special for her. maybe it's where we sit all the time but I like the atmosphere in this restaurant. And you can always jump right on the monorail to get to the park afterwards.

CP is prob. my least favorite of the 3....one advantage is being inside the park, esp. if you get an early morning reservation -- kind of nice to see the castle/main street before the throngs of people.

If I had to choose, it would be 1900 Park Fare.

Crystal Palace!

If for NO other reason than you and your family get to walk through Magic Kingdom before anyone else is allowed in - I have yet to experience this effect myself, but I'm booked for there next month, and I'm already drooling over the crowd-less photos I've seen everyone else post =)

I think that it depends on your preference of characters. CP gets good reviews, but I wouldn't eat there because my kids don't care about those characters. We did the princess breakfast in Norway. I wasn't impressed with the food, but the character interation was outstanding, DD loved it!!!

You probably already know this, but with Chef Mickey's and Tusker House you have an overlap of characters. CM's is generally Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto which TH is Mickey, Daisy, Donald and Goofy. So, unless Minnie and Daisy are absolute must sees, I personally wouldn't do both. Just my 2 cents.

For the same reason, I wouldn't pick Akershus as you will likely see the exact same characters at CRT.

I would pick either Crystal Palace or 1900 Park Faire. :goodvibes

Thanks for all the responses!!!!!! :thumbsup2

I think I can go ahead and eliminate Akershus from the list ('cause like someone said, my DD - and me! - will get our princess fill at CRT - haha).

Now I'm just torn between 1900 and CP.

We're doing BBB early one morning (and then breakfast at CRT right after - so we'll be in MK early at least once )....I hadn't really thought about the overlapping of characters at CM and Tusker House (CM will be on our last day - one last fill of Mickey before we say good-bye). Maybe I should cut out TH and do 1900 and CP, then. My kiddos really don't have strong character opinions about those that will be at 1900 or CP (*I* love all those characters, though - haha!!)

I hate making decisions :rotfl:

I wouldn't cut TH because it was an excellent meal (much better than CM) and it's one of few TS meals in AK. But I agree with you on cutting Akershus...that's just too many princesses when combine with CRT.

As for 1900 PF and CP, I recently made the same decision for our upcoming trip and I went with 1900 PF. We did CP last trip and just were not impressed. It was middle of the road when it came to breakfast buffets...we had better but we also had far worse. We felt as if the character interaction was good but a bit off. They were rushed and Pooh kept getting called away from the tables surrounding ours to visit tables in the other room that he had skipped so it took us quite awhile to see him. But our server was great and gave us fast passes to make up for the delay (No, we did not complain. She could tell that DD was very torn between waiting to see Pooh or going to Toon Town rope drop to see Tink, so she made both happen).

We did consider it again for our March 2011 trip but we opted to go with 1900 PF. We had dinner there last trip and loved it. We enjoyed the offbeat humor of the step family and our server told us that the Mad Hatter was just as funny in the mornings. We also wanted something different yet close to the MK. So we're going to give it a try.

I would definitely go with 1900. CP is a prettier environment, but the food at 1900 is better. Lobster eggs benedict :thumbsup2 Also, I wouldn't cut breakfast at TH unless you would really really rather go somewhere else. It's my absolute favorite breakfast buffet anywhere at Disney. And you'll get food there that you won't see anywhere else.

Just wanted to add that we enjoy both TH and CM. I just didn't want you to get there and be annoyed that the characters were mainly duplicates. We generally only do 2-3 character meals per trip so we try to maximize them by making sure we have different characters at each one. If you are able to do many of them, it doesn't matter as much.:goodvibes

One other thing: Crystal Palace also has lunch and dinner which are both really good. Of the two, we prefer dinner since it has a much better dessert selection. If it makes it easier to fit your meals in...
