I just came home on my lunch break (notice its 9 in the morning). We are still in school. Last day for kids is June 20. I think everyone is ready for the start of the vacation. Are your kids out yet and if not when? My kids think we are the last to get out

Here in Ont. Canada we don't get out until June29th so we are the last I think. We go back Sept 5th.

Here in South Florida DD6 last day of school was May 31st.

We were done June 6th and go back, August 28th.

BTW: We had no make up days which is rare in PA.

I don't have kids, but I remember as a kid that we got out of school the first week of June and didn't go back until the day after Labor day. Why do schools these days go longer?

Today is their last day of school. They go back August 28th, the week before Labor Day. Some years they go back after Labor Day.

This morning my 6yo asked me if I was glad that it was his last day of school and I lied and said yes. :teeth: I did come up with the reasons that I like summer--spending more time with him, going to the pool, no homework, so I guess it wasn't a total lie, just more of a stretch of the truth. :rotfl:

NYC public school go longer because we get a TON of days out during the school year.

The last day of school here is June 28. They go back on September 5.

Oh, no.........we might win the dubious honor of having the latest 'last day of school.' The last day in our district is June 28th !!!!!

DS last official day of school is friday, then 8th grade graduation, but they must return to school on mon. to take the state spanish test. DS 16 last day of school is next wed. DS 18 last day of school officially is also next wed. but he has to go to school Fri. the 23 for graduation practice. Its been a long, long year and its still not over.

Our kids got out on May 31st and go back Sept 6th. They don't have a lot of extra time off during the school year so that is nice.

My boys got out of school way back on May 18th.

School starts back on August 17th.

Mine were out May 25th & don't go back until Aug 3rd---looks like we're starting earlier than anyone else so far. I don't know why we go back so early, especially considering it's still so dang hot in August!

:lmao:

I think all students must go 180 days per year. If you get out earlier, you go back earlier (normally). Some have more off during the school year, which is not the case for other districts.

Here in central PA (actually all PA I believe, but could be wrong) we get out a couple days for hunting season. LOL Too many older kids would be absent anyway (not us, we don't hunt), so it's probably a good thing, even though it sounds silly.

my dd last day of school was May 26th and I beleive the first day of school will be August 28th

Our last day was May 25th, they go back Aug 14th.

However.....Texas has changed the dates for school so next year we might start after Labor Day and get out late in June as well.
They have not officially said it but the laws are in place now.

For those of you that do have that kind of schedule, do you like it?

I love our schedule. :cheer2:

By the time the kids start to get tried of school, it's time for a short break.

Our breaks allow us to take advantage of value and regular season when planning vacations. This way I don't have to worry about pulling my son out of school in order to save $$$ on vacations.
