Our VGC Miracle

We've been Aulani owners since 2012 since we live on the west coast. We recently moved to the Phoenix area from So Cal so now we have to find a place to stay when we visit DLR. (Staying with MIL is an option but it causes it's own set of problems...) In December, I was able to book two nights for our girls' spring break and my wait list came through for our third night so we are headed there next week. I was calling it our Christmas miracle.

This week, DVC called me with a 50pt contract at VGC! We've been on the waitlist for 18 months! (We'd been watching the resale market since we moved but nothing that fit what we wanted.) We are paying WAY too much per point but we don't care. Same use year and now we are VCG owners!

We are doing a little happy dance in our house!

Wow, congrats! This is the first time I've ever heard of someone actually getting VGC points direct.

Thanks! DVC guide yesterday told me it never happens.

Congratulations! We were able to get VGC points direct last year from a guide we interacted with on a Disney Cruise. He stated at the presentation that he could get points at any resort, and we called him on it. Took a few months, but he came them through with the exact number of points and use year we wanted.

Congratulations! A friend and I met with a DVC guide (Roderick Evens) in December and he said he had someone on waitlist for 1 1/2 years. He called to see if any VGC points were available but they said no. I ended up with a resale in January, an April finally showed up. It was stripped but I finally got what I wanted.

We put ourselves on the waitlist while on a Disney Cruise. The guide was upfront with us and told us it might ever come through but we decided to get on the waitlist anyway. I'm glad we were patient!
