My first attemp at a Pre-Trip Report.
I'm hoping it's not too early & that I don't bore you all.

Me ~ Although it will be my first trip in about 20 yrs I already have a huge love of Disney. I can relate to every bit of joy, happiness & tears that everyone shares through comments, advice & trip reports. I have been anticipating, dreaming & planning this trip for what seems like forever.
I am 33, run a home daycare (with the greatest families & cutest kid) and at this point in life everything revolves around our three children.
DH ~ 34, truck & trailer mechanic and still thinks Disney is for kids. But in his defence he also hasn't been to Disney in about 20 yrs and just has NO idea. I know after this trip he will be just as hooked....and hopefully wanting to plan another.
DS ~ just turned 13
, I can't believe I'm the mother of a teenager. He is mainly into hockey,he is a goalie on a travel team. He is excited about this trip because he's grown up with friends who go every year. He is definately not into talking about it, looking at pics, watching videos or anything. He says he'd rather wait until we get there and be surprised. He's a bit of a comedian which gets him into trouble most days but he's definately a great kid.
DD ~ 11. She has been a blessing since birth. She is definately an old soul and has such a easy going personality we rarely have to talk to her. In fact if she even talks back a little bit we have to look the other way to hide a smile because it's so out of character. She is definatley like her mom with a love of Disney so huge and with no reason other than the magic as she's never been. She's already talked about getting married there one day, lol. She has her own count down in her bedroom and loves looking over my shoulder at all the pics on the computers of the resort, attractions...she even loves looking at the food pics at the restaurants we'll be at. She figure skated for most of her years but decided last year to take a break and we signed her up for some dance classes.
DD ~ 8. She is definately a Daddy's girl. Athletic like her Dad & into many sports but has a really hard time just sticking to one. She's been so good at everything she's been into but then doesn't have time to excel because she gets bored and switches to another sport...drives us a little crazy, lol. She is also really looking forward to this vacation. After hearing promises for many years I don't think they really believed it until we finally booked.
When reading other trip reports and seeing all the pics of the little ones it makes me a little sad we haven't been yet. But I just have to remember that it's a blessing that we will be going and luckily the kids are still young enough to feel the magic & old enough to be able to enjoy late nights and definately meet all height requirements.
My husband and I were highschool sweethearts and married right after college. We had our children quite young and everything seemed almost perfect. We had definately planned on going to Disney much earlier in life but then my dh was diagnosed with Kidney disease...which eventually lead to a transplant. His Dad was a perfect match, so luckily he only dealt with Dialysis for about 1 yr. We've had many set backs with his health and definately huge financial setbacks but are also very blessed that everything has worked out so well. We now have much less material wise but I do believe it all happened for a reason. We both lived in a world where we thought our brand new house wasn't big enough!?!?...funny cause i'd really love to be back in that house now. So not to bore you with more but life is good we've been blessed in more ways than we realize most days and we do believe all of the health issues was God's little way of waking us up to the real world...the one beyond how big our house is, how new our vehicles are especially with comparing ourselves to others.
That's why this Disney vacation is soooo exciting for us.
We had planned on going Jan-Mar of 09 because our ds will be in gr. 8. I really wanted to do this first trip while everyone was still in gr. school. My sister, husband and her two little ones planned a trip for Sep and booked after getting really great flights...but was a little bummed when her TA told her had she been one day earlier she would of been able to get free dining. That's when it all happened and was meant to be. When she passed on this info I thought what better time to go, if we could qualify for free dining it would really be perfect.
We booked through DU and are booked from Sep 20th-29th. We were originally 8 days/7 nights and then added an extra day...and then flights were much less if we added another day. Noone had to twist my arm. I've been waiting for this trip for so long that even 10 days/9 nights doesn't seem like quite enough, lol.
I know i've written way too much so i'll stop for now.
But will just add we are staying at the POR. My sisters family is staying at POP. We are trying not to wish the summer away but ofcourse can not wait until September! And we are in CANADA!!

I'm hoping it's not too early & that I don't bore you all.
