We simply can't wait for our very first onsite trip! We've been staying offsite because of our Pug (won't kennel her) and then somebody mentioned being able to rent an RV snd staying at FtW Campgrounds. I never even knew you could do that! So, not only will we have our first stay onsite, but also our first time camping. We're very excited:bounce: . Is there any advice you veterans have that you would like to share with this rookie?

Make time to enjoy the campground! Your pug (very cute) is only allowed in certain areas. The pet loops are nice but be careful because not everyone cleans up after their pets. If you are staying a while, catch the boat parade down at the marina and the sing a long/movie at night. We use a golf cart due to the number of kids we take so if you don't rent a cart, allow time for the bus in your schedule. My parents also did not want to kennel their two doggies, so they bought a travel trailer, then a fifth wheel and now they own a motor home so be careful, you may find yourself looking at campers after returning home from your trip finding that this trip will cost more than you imagined. On the good side of things, you get to take your own home with you to the the happiest place on earth and the rates are much cheaper!! Have a great time and enjoy. The campground has a much slower pace than the other resorts and you are relaxed after a fast paced day at the parks.

You should have a great time ... as the other poster pointed out, you will need to be placed in a "pet loop." Please be aware that you will only be a ble to walk your dog in designated sections of Ft. Wilderness.

You should have a great time, but may want to find out all the rules about having a pet with you prior to arrival so there are no surprises.

Our first on-site trip was at FW and that is the only place we have ever stayed since! You will have a great time. If you have children, take their bikes or scooters (manual power) and don't forget their helmets. Also, when you shop for groceries, don't forget your smore's fixins if you plan to go to the nightly campfire sing along and movie (ITS FREE!!!!). Have fun. We can't wait to go back (December) and then 3 more times in '05!!! that's how much fun we have.

My plan is to bring my bike and my DDs bike with us. My spouse is disabled and will be in an ECV.

I can't wait to try FtW out, but at the same time I'm a bit nervous because I've never rented an RV before. What if I can't hook the thing up?!:scared:

When you go to pick up the RV, make sure you VIDIO everything and that way you have something to refer back to.

If you should have a problem, you could also ask a fellow camper for help.

When are you going? If we are there, I would be glad to assist in any way I could.

Great idea about videotaping!

We arrive on the 6th of November and leave on the morning of the 13th.
