We had a GREAT trip, with so few problems, they are barely worth mentioning. Here goes: Cast-DH63, Me51, DS23, DS18 and DD15. We arrived 9:25 AM Friday, Dec. 8th. Picked up our car (Dollar would not honor the Orlando Magic Car free extra driver
I plan to contact the Tourist Bureau about that) Spent the day at Seaworld, and then checked in to two connecting rooms at POP. Had dinner at House Of Blues, which was one of our favorite meals we had.
Day 2, Sat., Dec.9-Went to Magic Kingdom no crowds or lines. Had a great time. Took a boat to the 5:00 Hoop Dee Doo, which turned out to be so much fun. My kids groaned when I told them what it was, but they all laughed at the corny jokes, and we enjoyed the food. Not gourmet, but never thought it would be! Then, back to MK for Parade and Fireworks. They were both great!
Day 3, Sun. Dec. 10-Checked out of POP, and drove to AK. We absoluley LOVED Everest! I lost track of how many times we rode it. Thank God (and TGM) for low crowds and Fast Pass! Had lunch at Rainforest, which was better than I expected. We were in and out quickly, and we all enjoyed our meals. Finished up most of AK, and headed to the BCVs! Got a ground floor room overlooking the quiet pool. Not what I asked for, but it was fine. We had dinner at the Cape May Café Seafood Buffet, which we all agreed was the worst meal we had all vacation. To be fair, we eat A LOT of seafood at home, and it probably wasnt fair to compare the food to what we are used to. Will not eat there again.
Day 4, Mon. Dec. 11th-EPCOT! So nice to walk 5 minutes, and we were there! Loved that! LOVED-LOVED-LOVED Soarin! Rode it many times again with no wait using fast pass, and good timing. We had CP Lunch package at the Garden Grill. Very mediocre food, but we still had a good time. I wouldnt go there again, though. Saw the 5:00 CP WOW! Just so beautiful and moving even my kids were impressed! Will do that again for sure if we go again when it id offered! Dinner at Alfredos a big favorite! We had 5 different entrees, and shared them all. We liked everything! Will go back!
Day 5, Tue. Dec. 12th- Slept in a little later, and then went to Typhoon Lagoon. It was a lot of fun, and practically empty. Did not wait on one line. Back to hotel, and then dinner at Boma! Really enjoyed it! Lots of new tastes! Impossible to try everything! Will go back!
Day 6, Wed. Dec. 13th-MGM! We just love Rockin Roller Coaster, and I did TOT one time, but my family did it about 5 times! Once is enough for me!...but I rode RNR many, many times. We enjoyed the LMA stunt show. Had dinner at 50s Prime Time which was fun, but once is enough. Probably would not go again. I LIKE my elbows on the table!!
) The Osbourne Lights were a highlight of this park. They are just awesome. Dont miss them!
Day 7, Thur., Dec. 14th.- My husband and sons did the 8:30 AM Segway tour. They LOVED it! My daughter was one month too young, so the two of us went on the horseback trail ride. Big yawner. I think a non rider, or a real beginner rider would enjoy it, but if you are an experienced rider, it really drags. Wont do it again, but wont have to. Next time we go, my daughter will be the right age for the Segways! We then went back to Animal Kingdom to finish up a bit that we didnt finish and to re-ride Everest. Did I mention we LOVED Everest?? What a great ride! Another dont miss! Then, back to BCV, and walk to EPCOT for dinner at Le Cellier. We wanted to see the 6:15 Off Kilter show before our 7:20 dinner reservation, but the skys opened up, and it POURED! And when I say POURED, I am not exaggerating! People were diving for shelter! Even the Mens Rooms were filled with women and kids! So, Off Kilter was canceled. I was so sorry we hadnt seen it earlier, as that was our last chance.
( Dinner was a big favorite. Every meal was great! We will surely go back again!
Day 8, Friday, Dec. 15th- Last day at Disney boo hoo! We c Packed up and checked out of BCV, and loaded the car, and drove to Wilderness Lodge for breakfast at Whispering Canyon. 16 bottles of ketchup later, we all agreed it was a lot of fun, and good food, too! I just loved the Wilderness Lodge! I think that will be our next resort. We finished up got in the car, and drove to Universal. We checked in at the Royal Pacific. It was very nice, but it was not Disney. We went to the parks for the rest of the day, and had a lot of fun, but it was not Disney.
Day. 9, Saturday, Dec. 16 and Day 10, Sunday, Dec. 17.- Spent both days at Universal and IOA loved Hulk. But, it wasnt Disney. We left around 2 Sunday afternoon for a 5:00 flight back to NY.
All in all, we had a fabulous time. Thanks to TGM, and all the great folks on the DIS boards, our trip was so much fun, with little to no waits for anything. I wore my Crocs with shorty socks the entire time! My feet never bothered me one minute! I dont think I would have made it without them! We are several years away from our next trip (I went WAY over budget misjudged how much the food would cost) But, the planning is half the fun! Also...I did not see even one Lime Green Mickey head!...but I did meet a DISser! I think the name was EpcotKilterLover, or something like that! We shared a few moments in the pouring rain! Very nice to meet you!
