We took our first family trip to disney last week!!

DD is 5, Dh & I are both 28. We got a great code so we moved our ressie to POFQ instead of all star movies. That was the best, we loved POFQ and will be going back. We were on the dining plan and loved it!

We got up at 4:45 am in the snow and cold to make our flight out of grand rapids. It sure was nice and warm when we landed in Orlando. We arrived Sat around 2, took Magical express which went smoothly once we found the ME desk on level 1. Everything went rather quickly. We were at our resort and checking into our room by 3 and off the MK. Our room was in building 5, level 2 just like I wanted. We were on the foodcourt end and a little walk to our bus stop. The bus stopping at FQ first was nice.

DD went nuts at MK, she ran up to Chip and Dale with a popsickle in her hands before I could grab her. Luckily no fur was ruined and she was in heaven. She kissed thier noses and had them sign her autograph book just beaming away!!!! It was busy Saturday so we walked around for two hours, she rode the carasoul and that was about it because it was time for dinner. We took the monarail from Mk to GF. DD loved it, we ate at 6:40 at 1900 park fare. The food was good, DH later claimed this was his favorite dinner.
Prince Charming was sick that evening so we had Snow White instead. She and Cindy were both very nice. DD had on her Cindy dress and looked so cute in her pic with Cinderella. She barely ate anything, a little mac and cheese. I loved the strawberry soup and the real butter for the rolls. After dinner we took the rail back and headed for the bus stop. This was the most eventful part of our trip.

We were almost to our bus stop and I see a man running trying to keep up with the bus door and people are yelling look out. The bus is backing up very quickly without a driver. It sideswiped the carribean beach bus that was loading people behind it and came to rest against the inner green fence they have. That was our POFQ bus. So traffic was blocked by the bus and security and someother people came down. The bus was moved ahead but it was about 30 min untill another bus came for us. Atleast no one was hurt. That ended our night and we went back to room to crash. Around 9:45 we heard an awful noise and went onto our walkway only to realize it was fireworks.

We woke up at 7:40 to stich Sunday morning to arrive at Epcot at 9. We ate in the POFQ food court. DD and I shared the King Creole breakfast. It had these great potatoe wedges that I loved. DH didnt eat, he had made his coffee in the room as we got ready. We followed the herd to the land for soaring and I though DH might never talk to me again. I grabbed our fast passes that were for 2 hours later and we headed for the living seas. The place was empty and DD loved it. She had her pic taken in Bruces mouth which scared her a bit at the time but now she laughs at her pic. We then rode Figment and Living with the land. Then our soaring fastpass. That was cool! Even DD liked it! We did our lunch at the land pavilion which was good. DD and I shared a big paninni type sandwich and I had the chicken bean soup. DH also had the sandwich and a pasta type salad. DD had the worms and mud for dessert. WE then had our 1:30 tour behind the seeds. That was interesting and good. But nothing we hadnt really seen on the boat ride. I was hoping it would be something above and beyond. For the price it was nice but I wouldnt do it again. We went back to the room to rest and it had just finished raining while we were in the tour. We came back after a nap to have dinner at Le Cellier in Canada at 6pm. There were people who were miffed at being turned away. We waited about 15 min for our table. The food here was really goood. I loved the cheese soup and the pretzel bread dipped in it. I also had the raspberry sparkling wine. That was yummy. A couple of glasses of wine make the world showcase much more interesting. We walked around for a bit through the world and picked out our spot in front of Germany for illuminations. (It was nice and not busy as everyone was still at the candlelight processionsal. Which in the future looked really nice but DD and Dh didnt want to sit through it but it sounded lovely.) I was disappointed a bit with illuminations. I thought it would be more laser lights and just better than the globe moving around with images on it. DD freaked at the overly loud fireworks at the end. It was alright to see once but I wouldnt make a special trip over there for it. Back around to the buses and off to our room. I grabbed my nightly coke in my suvinear mug and off to bed.

Monday morning it was up at 7:30 again. Once again it was King Creole for breakfast but now they had normal hash brown type potatoes for Breakfast. Dh again had coffee in the room. WE were off to MGM. We arrived at 9:15 and rushed off to playhouse disney. It wasnt working that morning. So I grabbed my Little mermaid fast pass (didnt need it :rolleyes1 as it wasnt busy) and headed to get one for lights, action, stunt show. Didnt have them today! DD met JOJO, Donald Duck took her for a walk down the street untill she paniced and ran back to us. She posed with her pink power ranger girl for another picture. Now it was 9:50 and we headed back to Little mermaid with our fastpass. There wasnt anyone around. We enjoyed a half filled show. I love that one and so did DD. We rode everything kid friendly untill 1ish and then we meandered around. Beauty and the beast was nice to see and so was the motor action show. DD loved the motorcycle guy that caught on fire. DD started pin trading. It got old after a while. We had to trade with every Cm. AT 5 she didnt care what pins she got, some she didnt have for 5 min before she traded again. Thanks to all the understanding Cms who were stopped by her. Saw a very cute parade. WE had a nice spot and DD saw really well untill some kids barged her out of her spot. (Some peoples children :earseek: Dh wanted to move the kids but I didnt have enough money along to post bail so we made sure DD could see and kept the kids from running her over for the most part. (I dont get it, if you want to be able to see the parade get there before it starts?) WE then klilled a little more time untill our 4:45 mama melrose dinner. (too much time dinking around but not enough time to go back to the room and come back) Dinner was really good here. Again she had to pin trade with the cm there. We walked through the Osborne Lights after dinner. Those were awesome. I have never seen anything like that! DD just stared from her stroller. After them we left for our hotel. Got my nightly coke and settled down for the next day. The plan had been to sleep in and leiserly go to Alices tea party and them MVMCP. Well, DD was up at 8:30 (why isnt she tired out yet? Less time in the stroller today!!!) So we ate breakfast all three of us. DD had french toast, Dh had the ham omlet and i had the King Creole. Then it was off to MK. The place was quiet!!! It was 10:30 and the place was very empty. We rented a locker that day for our coats as it was 40's that night. So off to the rides we went. We did all sorts of rides untill 1:00 when it was off on the monorail for GF. DD enjoyed the Wonderland Tea party alot. Dh and I sat at the pool bar and I ate a pretzel and he had a beer while we waited. GF is a nice hotel, but I would never feel comfortable staying there. TOo many older ladies that didnt look too friendly towards any kids they saw there. (I just wouldnt be able to relax there.) We picked up DD at 2:30 and got her surprise for us. She said she had a great time. We took the rail back to Mk and put everything back into the locker. WE did a few more rides, small world twice and I am still humming the song. We grabbed our coats and got our wrist bands for MVMCP. There was alot of people by the castle watching a show so we hung out in Adventure land untill 5:00. I saw a big line outside LTT so we checked in and were told we could be seated about 5 min before our 5:30 ressie time. So we went into a nearby shop and at 5:15 we were inside waiting for our name to be called. And we waited, and waited. At 5:45 I go up to the desk to check on the wait. They had called our name at 5:05, so we were thrown back into the pile again. It set the mood for the whole dinner. Once we were seated it took a while to get our drinks, longer for food. longer and longer for drink refills. It was 7:00 and I asked for the check and said no dessert. We would have been there all night. DD liked meeting Goofy and Pluto was really cute! But I wouldnt eat there again. The food wasnt great and our server was sooooo slow! :hourglass MVMCP was even a shorter wait on rides and by 9pm we had done it allllllll and several times on each. Wishes was really neat on the tommarrow land bridge. DD was hungry so we got her some cheetos and DH and I shared a coke. A couple more spins on Buzz light year, did the family picture and off to our spot for the parade. DD was sound asleep in her stroller by the time the parade started. Dh finally woke her up and we held her for the parade. It was a really cute parade. We left as Santa was coming as she had already met him right after her Wonderland tea party b/c there was no wait at 3:00. We hit the food court for my coke and fell into bed.

Wed. I had planned MK but we had done everything there already. WE all ate at the food court for breakfast. The usual french toast, omlett and king. So at 10:30 we went to AK. The place was mostly empty. No wait to meet Mickey or anyone at Camp Mickey which was cool! :cool1: DD loved watching the african performers doing the limbo, she joined in when they asked for audiance volunteers. I got some great pictures of them. We rode the safari, didnt need the fast pass i had gottan. That was cool, but it still seemed zooish. MOre than I had thought it would be. I got lunch at Tusker house which was very good. I had the Chicken wrap, corn chowder and cheesecake. It was very good!!! We walked through Asia and headed out to relax before dinner. DD wanted to swim at the hotel and I took a nap. We headed out at 5 to Mk to catch the rail to Poly for the Neverland club. DD loved it, she met a little friend on the rail and they both checked in. We rode the rail back to MK and took the Yachtsman bus to dinner. We were promptly seated for our 7pm dinner. It was great. We both really enjoyed it. Afterward we walked to epcot and strolled through the world showcase and out to the monorail. We changed rails at the transportation center to the Poly. (I know it would have been shorter to walk over there from the station but we were feeling a bit full.) DD had a great time when we picked her up. We took the bus from the Mk and went to bed.

Thursday we slep in untill 9 and after breakfast headed off to AK again. It was busier today than it was on Wed. We rode the dinospin thing and she was upset that she was too short for the primevil whirl. I thought there would be more to do in that area. I am not paying for games when I already laid out a bunch for wDW tickets! We rode Dinosour, dd didnt like it and it wasnt anything I had to ride again. DD wanted her face painted like a tiger. So while she did that I got lunch at tusker house. I had the half rostiory chicken and cheese cake. She got the mac and cheese and chocolate cake. Her face looked cute once it was done and she ate a bit for lunch. We went back to Asia. The tigers were all looking at her staring at them through the windows. And I didnt realize untill we were leaving the bats that there wasnt any glass seperating them from us. We saw Tough to be a bug and headed out. We went back to rest but it didnt turn out that way. It was really windy and looked like rain. So I had wanted to go to downtown disney by boat before it started to rain. DH wanted to take DD to the fishing hole. So I found out the fishing hole closed at 3 and it was 2:30. We took the boat to Downtown and shopped around. Gotta love the $10 and under store wall of 4 for $10. Did some shopping and grabbed dinner at Capt'n Jacks. It was okay. Walked over to Cirque for the 6:00 show. This was so great!!!!!!! DD loved it and we had great seats at the front of our section so no one blocked her view. We took the boat across the lake to the other side and walked right on to the Port Orleans boat. We relaxed in our room, DD got some icecream for a snack and I ate our key lime pie from Captn JAcks.

Friday we slept in. It was our last day so after dd and Dh ate breakfast they went to the fishing hole at riverside. They didnt catch anything so they came back to clean up and then we headed out to our girls only surprise. I had booked the Princess Tea party at the Gf. So DD put on her Aurora Dress and we did the usual bus to Mk rail to GF. Somehow I had missed where I was supposed to be I thought it was at 1900 Park fare, after asking there they pointed us to the right location. DD just beamed at her doll and braclet. It was nice but she got a bit bored with the singing and was playing with her doll. She didnt like any of the food, except the apple juice. She didnt even like the cake. But I think she want hungry after her french toast breakfast. We left there with the doll in tow and went back to Mk. We put the rose and other stuff in the locker. She wanted to wear the dress and she loved the attention she got at Mk by the cm's. She was so tired so after a few rides and a mickey bar DH took her back to the room and I had time to myself to shop. I didnt buy much but it was nice to have the time to myself for 2 hours. I had a pannini at pinochio house place with some good dessert that I cannot recall. By the time I got back to the room at 4:45 I didnt feel much like making the trip to boma. So we got packed as ME was picking us up at 5:40 the next morning. We walked to Boatwrights at riverside and It was a very good meal. I rode the boat back and relaxed and went to bed early. We had a great trip and cannot wait to go back! :wizard:

Sounds like you had a great trip. I think you have a future WDW lover on your hands! My family loved POR when we were there. We did a quick trip in May of this year and stayed a WL, but wished we had stayed a POR again!!
