Well we watch the show (Airline) all of the time and we knew how generously compensated you are if they ask for volunteers when a filight is overbooked. We actually wished for it to happen. Well our wish came true and they asked for volunteers Saturday (8pm flight) night last week.

The flight was oversold and some johnny come lately's were at the check in pitching a fit so they started to beg people to give up their seats. Since we watch the show and had the discussion prior to leaving about volunteering Dh looked at me and I said "Get up there quick!". Well he told them we would do it and they only needed 2 seats, we are 3 with Ds but they said that they would only compensate us for DH and I but they would still rebook Ds on the flight with us in the morning. They had to since he is only 4 LOL. So they accepted us as the volunteers paid for the hotel over night at Marriot courtyard and gave us a travel voucher for future travel that will pay for the three of us to travel back to round trip orlando at least 1 and a half times!

The best part about this is that this vacation we were returning home from DS got a double ear infection and while he had fun he wasn't himself for the whole trip so now this gives us the opportunity to go back sooner just so he can have a better trip. So some angel must have been looking down on us to make this happen :)

wow! how great is that (that you were well compensated, not that ds got sick)! i want to book busy flights just so the same can happen to us! LOL!
(were you flying out of islip?)

We volunteered once so a honeymoon couple could make their cruise. We got to preboard, got a bottle of champagne, a drink coupon book and travel vouchers paid for DH and I and later DS and his DGF to fly to FL!! Gotta love SWA!!!

Yeah we where on our way home (islip) and in no rush to get back LOL.
