Our September 2011 Pre-Trip Adventure!! (Update 09/29/2011 - Link to TR!)

That carrot cake cookie looks awesome!!!!! I so want one.

Good plans! Fantasmic! is a great show.

I am so getting the carrot cake sandwich we go! I got the same packing list, but there is alot you can delete from it. It repeats things like meds and toileties.

I like getting on a boat to got to DTD. We have stayed at POR the last 2 times at WDW, and we LOVE just crusin down the river. You get to see the POFQ and the TreeHouse Villas. We're sad we won't be doing this in Sept.

It sure does look yummy! popcorn:: Thanks - I just downloaded yesterday and didn't read over it properly as the length of it put me off  Your right - quite a lot of it is repetitive so will be amending it.

Will definitely be getting the boat then...POR sounds great! It's a shame you won't get to repeat the experience in Sept but am sure you will have a great time at Pop :goodvibes

It sure does!!! Wouldn't mind one myself right now. Everytime I see a new snack/dessert pic I just think oh I def want one of them during our trip!! :rotfl:

Thanks...am looking forward to Fantasmic!

Mmmmm...I keep eying the picture of that Ghiradelli sundae. I can't wait 'til I can have one of those!

Well...today was the day where I had to be on the phone/computer to make our ADRs :surfweb: So were we successful?? Well...(insert drum roll here!)

WE

MANAGED

TO

GET

ALL

THE

ADRs WE COULD MAKE SO FAR!!!! :dance3:  :cheer2: :dance3:  :cheer2:

I was unable to make the final three due to the 180+10 days rule but am hoping I will be able to get them as well. The times have changed on a few of them so the list is now as follows:

09/16/2011 Planet Hollywood - 8.30pm
09/17/2011 California Grill - 7.45pm
09/19/2011 50s Prime Time Cafe - 7.15pm
09/20/2011 Les Chefs de France - 7.30pm
09/21/2011 1900 Park Fare - 10.30am
09/23/2011 Akershus - 5.30pm
09/24/2011 Boma - 8.50pm
09/25/2011 Captain's Grille - 5.00pm
09/26/2011 Artist Point - 5.30pm I was told I could only book one ADR so went for the earlier one.
09/27/2011 Kona Cafe - 7.30pm
09/28/2011 Sanaa - 6.45pm
09/29/2011 Tusker House - 10.00am

Am soo excited that I managed to get the ADRs I could so far!!! :woohoo: Didn't think it would happen.

On a seperate note we have made a slight change to our plans! After having read so many TRs mentioning MK at night and the difference in atmosphere, I really want to experience this for myself and ride BTMRR and Haunted Mansion in the dark! So, we have decided to go to MK on our 2nd full day (09/18/2011) as it is open until 1am! We are still planning to go to Typhoon Lagoon and head to MK in the late afternoon. It means we won't have to wait until our 6th day to see the castle! :woohoo: We will just ride whatever we want on this day as we know we will be back again. The reason I took the earlier ADR for Artist Point was because MSEP is scheduled to take place on 09/18, so we may try and watch it on this day and just come back for Wishes after our meal at AP.

This means we have an extra day away from the parks - we were thinking of resort hopping on this day. We will already have visited many places for our meals and will be exploring Beach Club on this day (will explain why later on in the PTR!) but want to take a picturesque stroll at one of the resorts for part of the day. I was thinking about POR as it looks really nice with the greenery and river or FW - could visit the horse stables and have a leisurely walk :cloud9:

So in your opinion where is the best place for a nice leisurely stroll (outside the Disney Parks). Would love to hear if there is anywhere else apart from the above two resorts.

Love the DHS plans for the day! Have you considered trying for a Fantasmic dinner package, so you don't have to wait in the line? That's why I never see Fantasmic, I can't deal with the thought of the line, but if I ever really need to see it again, I'd try for a dinner package! And if today is your ADR day, you might want to check that out, they book fast!

Oh, and I think I read that Lotso is leaving DHS in May sometime. :( He's being replaced by Winnie the Pooh, which is strange, because there are already so many other Pooh meet and greets! I'm sad, I really wanted to meet Lotso too!

Great ADR's!! Glad you got everything you wanted! If you want a fun resort to explore, go to the Poly!!! It's so beautiful, you won't want to leave!!!

I'll put another vote in for POR.:thumbsup2It has alot of walking paths, and you can go between 2 different styles of buildings. The Manisons and the Bayou styles. You also can cruise over to POFQ to check that out too!

Congratulations on getting all the ADRs you wanted!! :woohoo:

POR is a good resort to just stroll around, you can also take the path over to POFQ and have a look around there as well :thumbsup2 They have the carriage rides at POR, that might be fun to do too.

If you don't want to travel over there though since you'll be at BC anyway, there is lots to explore in Boardwalk area. Beach Club/Yacht Club/Boardwalk Inn/Swan/Dolphin, not to mention the shops and things on the boardwalk itself. Also, Fantasia Gardens miniature golf course is a short walk across the street from the Swan, that's also a fun way to kill a couple of hours!

I just found your PTR and really am enjoying reading about your plans so far! MK is great at night. DH and I rode BTMR at night while the fireworks were going on, it was really cool. Congratulations on getting all of your adrs. I can't wait to read more of your plans. :goodvibes

Thank you..can't wait to visit DHS! Did think about a Fantasmic package but when we looked at the menus online none of the restaurants took our fancy. So, we have decided to eat elsewhere and grin and bear the line. Am hoping it's not a decision we regret but will wait and see. The plan is for us to get in line and then one of us get some ice creams or snacks to help pass the time.

Aaw wanted to meet Lotso too! :sad2: I will get to meet Winnie the Pooh anyway at 1900 Park Fare and other places!

I'm also glad we got all our ADRs...didn't think it would happen! We will be exploring Poly!! Have an ADR at Kona that evening so will arrive early for it and explore the resort! The pics of the place look so great...another resort I would love to stay at one day!

Thought you'd be voting for POR! :) It is the resort we will be visiting and am looking forward to seeing the different style of buildings :thumbsup2

We do like the look of POR and will be visiting for a stroll - may try the carriage ride as well. I thought about the travel and being in Boardwalk area anyway. So the plan would be to visit POR in the morning and then head to Beach Club and explore some of the other areas you mentioned. We may head to Fantasia Gardens for a round of golf and then head to explore Poly, eat at Kona Cafe and watch Hallowishes from the beach!! Sounds like a fun day away from the parks...can't wait! :)

:welcome: thank you for reading and commenting on my PTR :goodvibes Can't wait to visit MK at night...hope we have a similar experience on BTMRR! Am so glad we got all our ADRs! Hope to post more soon :)

Your plans are always so great! I love the style of your PTR :goodvibes Congratulations on getting all of your ADRs...you've chosen some great places with lots of variety! Port Orleans seems like a great idea for resort hopping. The pictures of all the paths look amazing, and you could take the boat from Riverside to French Quarter. Also, many people have recommended the Yee Haw Bob show. He performs at POR in the evenings. Maybe you could look into that...or something similar at another resort.

Hi! Just noticed you had a PTR in your signature and all caught up! :goodvibes

Great plans so far :thumbsup2

I know you've said you guys don't like getting up early on vacation.. but definitely use the jet-lag to your advantage for the first few days! :cutie: it'll be easy to make it to AK for rope-drop or earlier on that first day; we usually wake up at 4/5am because that's like 9/10am at home! .. plus you'll get to see the really cute opening ceremony show with the fab five in front of the Tree of Life :wizard:

Looking forward to reading more!!

Congratulations on getting all of your ADR's :banana:, I couldn't believe how easy it was!

I think it is a good idea to go to MK at night, that way you can see the firework shows. We will also be going for MNSSHP, have you thought about going to that. It looks like a lot of fun!

We have also set aside some time to have a look at resorts. I am really looking forward to checking out Fort Wilderness. We are staying at POR and AKL so we will have plenty of time to look around those resorts.

Thank you for the compliment! I do wonder if I am overloading with the details for each day but it's nice to hear your appreciation for my plans :goodvibes Am very happy to have got all our ADRs...we are looking forward to eating at all the different restaurants and experiencing different types of food! popcorn::

Am looking forward to exploring Port Orleans Riverside and French Quarter. I Googled Yee Haw Bob Show and his show does look good...hope you manage to watch and enjoy it. Unfortunately, we will not be there in the evening but will look into what other resorts offer as evening entertainment. :cool1:

:welcome: Emma thank you for joining and catching up! :goodvibes

Am looking forward to using the jet-lag to our advantage and being able to wake up at 4/5am for the first few day as am usually up before 9/10am here! :cool1: If we manage to see the AK opening ceremony (which I am hoping we will!) then that means we would have done two rope drops - am planning it for DHS as well  Just have to try and attempt it for MK now

Am hoping to post more shortly - am also going to head over to your wedding and honeymoon PJ to catch up on your plans! :)

Congratulations on getting all of your ADR's :banana:, I couldn't believe how easy it was!

Thank you...was very pleased!! I couldn't believe it either...was so expecting it to be more complicated! ;)

That was my thinking as well. Have thought about MNSSHP - we are not ruling it out but at the same time are not 100% certain we will be attending - am going to explain the reasoning in my next post.

POR and AKL both look great - you will have so much fun exploring these resorts on a daily basis :cloud9: Am not sure if we are going to manage to get to Fort Wilderness - we will try our best :)

Subbing and going back to get all the deets :teeth:

:welcome: Stefy! Thank you for subbing and going back to get all the deets :goodvibes

I thought I would explain about my job searching as it impacts on our Disney World trip planning and in particular whether we attend MNSSHP!

I used to work in an administrative role , which I enjoyed at first. However, after a while it became repetitive and boring. So, I looked into other careers and after a long thinking process decided to embark on a teaching career and complete a PGCE! :teacher:

I have to say the course was one of the most stressful things I have ever done and since completing it I have the upmost respect for any one in the teaching environment :worship: To sum it up it was an emotional rollercoaster!

I have not managed to find a permanent teaching job since completing the course. I have been doing supply work (am starting cover at a college tomorrow) but it is not the same as being in one school/college.

As a result of this we have had to cut back a little on the trip budget and at the moment are not planning on attending MNSSHP :sad1: However, if I get a permanent teaching job before our trip then the first thing I will be doing (after booking flights!) is purchasing MNSSHP tickets!!

I have a couple of applications on the go at the minute so please keep your fingers crossed for me :wizard:

I apologise for the lack of Disney Magic in this post but will be rectifying that in the next one which will involve flying Dumbo's, flights to Neverland and one or two evil villians!! :goodvibes

In the mean time like I have said completing my PGCE is my biggest achievement to date. What is your biggest achievement/proudest moment of your life? If you are willing to share, would love to read it!

Ok, all caught up and am loving your plans and congrats for getting all the ADR's you wanted :thumbsup2

Jobwise, I hope you get a teaching position soon. But good luck with everything :)

Looks like you will be at the World the same time as us, although it doesn't look like our paths will cross. But if you do see us do say hello and we'll do the same :teeth:

Good luck getting a teaching job!! :cool1:

I've been thinking all along that I'm going to do 2 MNSSHP's...but now I'm not so sure. I don't want to miss anything, but at the same time, I don't know if I want to spend that much on tickets! We'll see!! :confused3

Hey if you can do it then go for it!! :cool1: I know other people that are doing that so they can spend one event getting character autographs/photos and another just watching the parades and enjoying the atmosphere! :)

It is possible to cover everything in one party but you guys may feel a bit rushed. It is confusing with all the different possibilities :confused3 Look forward to reading about what option you choose :goodvibes
