Our September 2011 Pre-Trip Adventure!! (Update 09/29/2011 - Link to TR!)

You're Universal Day looks great! WWoHP looks so amazing, I can't wait to see it too! Although, I haven't read the books or seen any of the movies so I should get going on that! :rotfl:

Your ADR list looks great too! :thumbsup2 I'm really curious about Artist Point, it seems like it would be really good! And WL is so beautiful, so it's nice to have a reason to visit there! :)

I love Le Cellier, but I can understand if you're going to skip it! My DH always wants to eat there at least twice, but now that it's 2 credits, I'm trying to convince him that we should only go there once, and for lunch! :confused3 I'm not sure he's going for it though, he's obsessed with the place! :rotfl2:

Thankyou! Am so looking forward to visiting WWoHP!! You def need to read the books or watch the movies - they are awesome! :lmao: Think you will still have a great time even if you don't manage to get around to it.

Thanks again - I was on the fence about Artist Point but after reading great reviews on the dining boards knew I had to go with it and like you said it gives us a reason to visit WL! :)

:rotfl: about hearing your DHs obsession with Le Cellier! Am glad we don't taste it then as don't think I could afford an obsession with that place  On the other hand if it means we get to experience Disney more often bring it on! :rotfl2:

Good luck with persuading DH just to visit once for lunch! Are you going to be starting a PTR for your Oct trip - would love to follow along and find out how successful you were ;)

Your ADR list looks great! You've got a good amount of variety and I think your choices are really good ones.

Your WWoHP day sounds like a good plan. I think going about the day the way you have planned will be ideal with how the crowds develop there.

Thank you! We are looking forward to eating at all the places if we are successful in getting our ADRs popcorn::

That's great to hear :thumbsup2 Was a bit unsure about how to start with our IOA day as there is not much info available so am glad my guessing skills paid off

Yay! You are going to love the WWoHP! I would definitely recommend getting there before the park opens, and I would also recommend paying the $5 extra for premium parking, because it saves you a lot of time walking! Make sure you try the frozen butterbeer- it's SOOOOO delicious! :thumbsup2 Also, if you want to do some shopping in the WWoHP, John and I noticed that the least crowded shop is the one that you walk into when you are exiting the Forbidden Journey. They had a great selection of merchandise, and you could just walk in anytime without having to wait in line!

I love your ADRs! John and I ate at a lot of those places on our trip, and they were fantastic! Artist Point was definitely the best. We LOVED it! :lovestruc We had a bison steak that was the most delicious thing I've ever eaten. I can't wait to hear what you think!

I am so looking forward to seeing WWoHP! Can't wait to see all the magic! We were planning on getting there early - thanks for the tip about the parking but we will not be driving. Don't think we could get used to driving on the other side and we will most likely end up lost most of the time! :rotfl: Will def be checking out the shop at the exit of the Forbidden Journey - thanks for that information :thumbsup2

Thank you - am looking forward to reading more of your reviews! Hope we love Artist Point as much as you and John did - will def let you know what we thought of it though we still have a bit of a wait

Hey I found something we differ on: We only have 2 ADR's in common :rotfl:. You have made good choices though, if we had more time we would be going to some of those as well. I am sure you will have no trouble getting the ADR's that you want. You will have to let me know what 1900 park fare is like, I have an affinity for Alice in Wonderland so I am a bit disappointed we will be missing it. We do have a free day at the end of the trip so maybe we will get luck with a walk up, you never know.

I can't wait to see Harry Potter I think it will be a highlight to the whole holiday, except Adam detests Harry Potter and refuses to step foot in the area :lmao:. Well I am going to enjoy it even if it is just me :wizard:.

Well, I suppose there had to be something :rotfl: Thank you - I hope I have the same luck as you in booking our ADRs! Will def let you know what 1900 Park Fare is like - can't wait to eat there! popcorn:: Hope you manage to get a walk up on your last day, if you decide to eat there.

Am soo looking forward to Harry Potter - luckily Zaheer doesn't mind visiting it with me. Hope you manage to persuade Adam. I have a similar problem with MNSSHP - Zaheer doesn't want to attend. I have even told him he doesn't have to dress up but he holds no interest what so ever. Maybe I should do what you are doing and just go alone :lmao:

I am here too! I finally got all caught up! Your plans are great and I can't wait to hear more!!!

:welcome: Queen!! Thank you for catching up! I hope to post more soon! :wizard:

Hi Tanz,

Regarding your IOA plans, you should have no problem getting into any of the shops. If you want to experience Ollivanders then you will probably have a wait but if you want to just bypass that and see the Dervish and Banges store then there is a separate entrance that may have a line but it will be a whole lot shorter and at the time of year you are going there may not even be a line there. Even if there is, you should go in and see some of the sights in that store such as the Monster book of Monsters, The Owls, The Quibbler, etc.

You need to convince Zaheer to ride Spiderman. It is so much fun! There is a simulated drop but it is not the same as a rollercoaster feeling for me.

In Seussland, I recommend the High in the Sky Trolley Train in addition to the other rides in your agenda.

If the line is not long you may want to see Poseidon's Fury.

The meal planning you have looks good. Bear in mind that eating at a signature restaurant will generally take longer. Thus that 10PM option on Artist Point could be a very late experience.

Your ADR's look great. We love Boma for breakfast but have never tried the dinner. Hopefully you will let us know how it is! :)

Hi Clearskies! Thanks for the tip on the shops - will def check out Dervish and Banges as it sounds like fun - look forward to seeing the sights mentioned. Am not sure about Ollivanders - my little sister wants me to get her a wand but have heard how pricey they can be :scared1: so will see on the actual day.

Am trying my best to persuade Zaheer to ride Spiderman with me but am not sure how he will feel once we are actually about to ride it. He loves 3D shows so am thinking if I mention that he may be willing to share the experience.

High in the Sky Trolley Train added as is Posiden's fury, if the line is short :thumbsup2

Thanks for mentioning about Artist Point being a late experience - will see what ADRs we can get but if needs be we can start our day after a bit later (as think it will be another Epcot day!)

Your ADR's look great. We love Boma for breakfast but have never tried the dinner. Hopefully you will let us know how it is! :)

Thank you! Will def let you know how Boma is for dinner! :thumbsup2

Hi Tanz!! I was finally able to get over here and get all caught up on your plans. I'm impressed with how well prepared you are for your first trip!

I wish I would have taken notes while I was reading so that I could remember everything I wanted to comment on, but I didn't :headache: Let's see how much I can remember..

AK - I love it there, and think you will have no problem filling two days at that park :thumbsup2

During your first MK day you might think about heading to Frontierland first and knocking out BTMRR & Splash (or at least getting a FP for one and riding the other) before you head to Adventureland. Frontierland will get busier as the day goes on.

I don't think you'll have any problem riding the Segway. If I can do it, believe me, anyone can!

I feel like I've eaten at alot of Disney restaurants, but have actually only been to 3 of the places you have listed for your ADRs! Kona, soooo good, love it! Boma, haven't been in many years but we enjoyed it. And Tusker House for breakfast, next to Crystal Palace it's my favorite character breakfast. We had really good interaction and the juice alone is worth going for!

Looking forward to hearing more of your plans!

:welcome: Michelle!! Thank you for coming over and catching up! The only reason I am well prepared is because of reading other PTRs and TRs on these boards :disrocks:

No worries on not taking notes - seems like you have a better memory then I have

Am glad we will not have a problem filling two days at AK - was a bit worried at first.

Thanks for the tip of going to Frontierland and getting a FP for BTMRR or SM as well as riding the other :thumbsup2 Your the second person to mention that to me so will definitely be rearranging our plans to incorporate this.

That makes me feel a bit better about the Segway but I am truly rubbish :lmao: I was the last one in the family to remove the training wheels from my bike when I was younger!

Am sooo looking forward to Kona and spending some time at Poly - it sounds great! Am glad you enjoyed Boma and the two things I am looking forward to at Tusker House (apart from the characters) are Krispy Kreme doghnuts for breakfast and the 'jungle juice'!

Thank you for reading along - am hoping to update in the next couple of days :goodvibes

So I have been going through my wardrobe to work out what else I already have and what I need to buy before our trip.

I bought this dress for our trip to Malta last year and am thinking of taking it to Disney World - love the design on it and thought it would tie in with one of our meals at AKL. Am leaning more towards wearing it at Sanaa :lovestruc

I also found this cardigan. Although I may not need it thought it might come in handy in the evenings and if the temperature drops.

I have been searching the Internet to find a couple of Disney tops - I don't want to buy too many as they will be cheaper in Florida :)

I found this one on Uniqlo's site which is within my budget but can not justify the P&P  I've been looking online for a promotional code so am going to wait and see if I can find one that works.

However I have also seen this top which I absolutely love and is only £5 ($8)! :cool1: I'm going to go to my local Asda store tomorrow to pick one up - am hoping they still have one in my size (edit: not only did they have my size but it was reduced to £4!!) I am also hoping to pick up some stationary items so I can get going with my planning binder - have been thinking that in order to keep important information on me at all times I'm going to get some index cards and print my ADRs and order of attractions etc on them.

mickey2-1.jpg

I have also downloaded the Ultimate Packing list from Mouse Savers which is making me :scared1: at the amount of stuff I still need to get - am going to get a little bit each month so I don't feel the pain of parting with the money too much!

For those who would rather :rolleyes1 then read about clothes/shopping I am hoping to post my next itinerary plans tomorrow :)

I love that dress! It will be perfect for one of your dinners at AKL :thumbsup2

I felt overwhelmed when I looked up a cruise packing list as well, do I really need all that stuff? I already went through and marked some things out, and I'll probably do that again in about another month. I think those lists try to cover ALL the things that you could possibly need, I hate to pack a bunch of stuff that never even comes out of the suitcase, you know?

That dress is beautiful! :thumbsup2 The Mickey and Minnie shirt is adorable too!

I wouldn't freak out too much over that Ultimate Packing list, I downloaded it too, and it gets pretty crazy! I mean, you can always buy something if you forget it down there, so don't stress yourself out over it too much! :rotfl:

Am glad to hear am not the only one that felt overwhelmed! I was thinking the same thing when reading the list :thumbsup2 That sounds like a good idea - will def be updating the list in the next couple of months. Like you said...no point taking things that don't even come out of the suitcase especially as I have to stick to a luggage allowance!!

Thank you on both counts - am just going to update the post to say I did manage to get the Mickey and Minnie shirt in my size and for £4!!

Think my freaking out levels have reduced slightly since posting, thanks to the advice of you guys! Of course I can - I do this every holiday...think I need to make sure I have everything (forget there are shops where I am going!), then I buy things to bring back and end up with too much luggage :lmao:

We will be starting today with a choice of two options:

Option A (am hoping this is the one chosen :wizard:): Head to Hollywood Studios and do the TSMM dash again! Then get some breakfast from Writer's Stop - preferably the Carrot Cake Cookie!! popcorn::

carrot-cake-cookie-1.jpg

Visit Keystone Clothiers before heading to DTD for part of the day - Am hoping to get a bus to SSR and then walk or take the boat to DTD. Is there a better option?? If so please let me know.

Option B: Sleep in and then head straight to DTD to do some shopping:

Get a Ghiradelli Sundae before heading to DHS via a bus to an Epcot resort.

Chance TSMM and see if it is possible to get on or get a FP for later. Watch a little bit of Pixar Pals: Countdown to Fun Parade and then head to Animation Courtyard to watch VoTLM

imagesqtbnANd9GcTydKTNnTpLGJpMnwvYBjmqQleVudA2IdYSYAUj5tf7LxI5ndVbOQ-1.jpg
and draw a Disney Character.

I found this on the Internet and am hoping ours look just as good

imagesqtbnANd9GcSobtzPZQ92kqbCb0Tum5D3EXXG3XjvJrswEkUulSTHWc10l-m4nA.jpg

We also want to visit some characters (am hoping they are still all there in September!)

After this we will get the boat to Yacht Club in order to eat at

Once we have eaten way too much again we will return to DHS and join the ever growing Fantasmic Queue. Am hoping the line will be reasonable and not cause me to get a :headache: Hopefully, we will get good seats and be blown away by Fantasmic!!

Coming next: Blizzard Beach and DTD visit!! (And do we get all our ADRs...)

I am so getting the carrot cake sandwich we go! I got the same packing list, but there is alot you can delete from it. It repeats things like meds and toileties.

I like getting on a boat to got to DTD. We have stayed at POR the last 2 times at WDW, and we LOVE just crusin down the river. You get to see the POFQ and the TreeHouse Villas. We're sad we won't be doing this in Sept.
