Our September 2011 Pre-Trip Adventure!! (Update 09/29/2011 - Link to TR!)

I can remember when The Little Mermaid was released... it's been a favorite of mine ever since!

I can't remember what all you've watched so far... 101 Dalmatians, I do remember that one. I'll have to go back and see what's on your list...

There is a Disney theme night thread? Where???

Nermel, I'm not sure if this is the one Tanz is talking about, but here's a "movie theme night" thread: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1707141

Some great ideas there, especially the ones from Kari-B!

Very nice theming! Love the vanilla 'wave' ice cream

The Little Mermaid is a wonderful movie and one of our favorites :lovestruc and Part of Your World holds a special place in my heart.

I can't remember all that you've done now! :rotfl: Hop on to the Disney theme night thread for some ideas. :thumbsup2

Thanks! Haha I just saw that in our freezer and though it would fit perfectly with the theme! ;)

It sure is such a great movie and I can now understand why Part of Your World holds a special place in your heart :lovestruc

Lol no probs. I should be completing a job application but keep finding excuses to come back on these boards! I can have a break, right?

Ooooh, I love the Little Mermaid! I just discovered a few days ago that my DVD is MISSING!! I have to order a new one, it's annoying because it's in the vault! :confused3

I love all the music in that movie, it's perfect, and Part of Your World is probably one of my favorite Disney songs ever! :lovestruc

Hmmm...I can't remember what you've watched so far! Have you done Peter pan yet? It's such a Disney classic...Cinderella is good too! I'm saving those for when I get closer to my trip, because they remind me SO much of the parks! What about the Toy Story movies, you could do a whole theme weekend with those! Have you seen the Nightmare before Christmas? If not, maybe watch that closer to your trip too, to get you in a Halloween mood, since you're doing MNSSHP now! :thumbsup2

I love it too! It sure is a great movie! :thumbsup2 What your movie is missing?! How did that happen? Good luck replacing it.

Lol don't worry about it! You have listed quite a few I haven't seen yet so will get onto them. Will remember to keep Peter Pan and Cinderella until it gets near to our trip. I have seen all the Toy Story movies but could watch them again as they are great! I think I may try and watch Cars as Cars 2 will be getting released in the UK soon. I have not see Nightmare before Christmas either - yes will have to watch it now we are attending MNSSHP!

There sure is a Disney theme night thread to which Pixie Mama has posted the link. As Mickey_Mom has said it has some great ideas! You should check it out! :thumbsup2

This sure is the one - it does have some great ideas, doesn't it? ;)

Yep that's the one! I've gotten TONS of ideas and inspiration from this thread for our Tuesday movie nights. We have so much fun with them.

It sure is and I have loved reading about your movie nights. You guys sure have some fun with your movie watching! I wish I had more people to join in the fun. I have an idea in mind for a girlie Disney movie with my mum and sister so we'll see if it works out.

Love the Little Mermaid, such a great classic and awesome songs to sing along to :)

"Part of Your World" is my favorite song too! I really love the Little Mermaid. I think it's because I wish that's how it really was under the ocean. A secret world where mermaids and friendly fish live and sing and dance.

Little Mermaid is a favorite in ur house as well. I thnk Sam called her forks dinglehoppers for a long time after that movie came out!:lmao:

You food looked yummy!

 Love the Little Mermaid!!! When I was little I had a giant stuffed Sebastian!! It's a good thing you watched this, now if you see the Voyage of The Little Mermaid in DHS, it will make more sense. :rotfl:

Hmmmm.... you haven't seen....
Cinderella... Sleeping Beauty... Aladdin... Peter Pan... Robin Hood... Dumbo...
Aristocats... Pocohontas... Mulan... The Princess and The Frog. :confused3

Just to name a few, LOL!!! ;) :goodvibes

It sure is a great song, isn't it? Just writing about it makes me want to go and listen to it again! I love it too. What, you mean it is not like this under the ocean?! Lol it would be great if there really was singing and dancing under water!

Little Mermaid is a favorite in ur house as well. I thnk Sam called her forks dinglehoppers for a long time after that movie came out!:lmao:

Lol I forgot about that when typing about the movie! :confused3  I loved how Scuttle kept naming the different objects and then Ariel used the fork to comb her hair and the smoke pipe to create music!

Thanks! I thought it was about time I made something to go with the movie! The only problem now is I'll have to try and keep it going on a weekly basis! :rolleyes1

It sure was a great watch and now I love it too! :lovestruc I love hearing about all the stuffed Disney characters people had when they were younger - it sure creates memories! :thumbsup2 Yes, I agree it probably is a good thing and now The Little Mermaid at DHS will def make more sense to me!

Ok you got me! :lmao: I still have quite a few to work my way through, don't I?

As for your list

I still need to watch Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty.
I've seen Aladdin but it was before I started doing Movie of the week - may try and watch it again and do a little theme for it.
Peter Pan is on the list as is Dumbo.
Have seen Aristocats and The Princess and The Frog (on release).
I'm not sure about Robin Hood - may put it as a maybe and see if I can get round to watching it before we go.
Was planning on watching Mulan soon. Pocohontas is another one that I'm not sure about  I'm going to try my best to fit it in.

Thanks for all the suggestions! :goodvibes

Oh, yes, you must watch Sleeping Beauty. And Aladdin. Those are 2 more of my absolute favorites!

I have Sleeping Beauty on my list - another one I have watched a long time ago but need to catch up on. I have seen Aladdin not so long ago (was on tv) but will try and see if I can fit it in again. Am glad to hear they are your favourites as they are good choices! :goodvibes

Yay welcome back Emma! Thanks for coming over again! :goodvibes It sure is great!! I know - tell me about it! :lmao: I was singing it for soo long after I had seen the movie! Aaw thank you! I thought I would try to make a bit of an effort though there are far better theme nights done by other DISers. I was pleased with my results! ;)

The Little Mermaid is my all time favorite Disney movie. I'm so glad it's finally getting it's own attraction!

I can't quite remember all the movies you've watched already. Have you seen Sleeping Beauty? That's a must!

I LOVE The Little Mermaid! It's probably my favorite of all the Disney movies and I've seen it more times than I can count. Years ago I could probably sit and watch it and recite the film word for word - heck, I could probably still come close!

I'm having a hard time remembering what all you've watched too, so I'm just going to throw a few out there....Hunchback of Notre Dame, Meet the Robinsons, Monsters Inc., Ratatouille, Hercules.....

The Little Mermaid...one of my absolute favorite movies! Jasmine was so afraid of Ursula when she was little she always brought her pillow out from her room to hide behind:lmao: Our first trip was in 1998 when she had just turned 6...we were sitting on the curb as Spectromagic was beginning and before we knew it a gigantic Ursula was making her way down the street. My sister and I both were comforting her saying she would go right by and everything would be just fine....well guess what .... she didn't go right by. She was on wheels or something and she came right up to Jasmine, pointed at her and said "will you be my new best friend"? Jasmine yelled at the top of her lungs NOOOOOO. My sis and I just looked at each other and said "what were the odds of that happening? Great memories!

Your dinner looked delicious.

I followed you over from my pre-trip report. Thanks for commenting. We have done two land only trips and it was definitely time to try the cruise.

You have a great trip planned. You and Zaheer will have an outstanding time.

Can't wait to read your post-trip report!

Love "The Little Mermaid" and your food looks awesome... specially that pasta dish. Good job! :thumbsup2

If you enjoyed the movie you will enjoy "The Voyage of the Little MermaidÈ at DHS.

It sure is a great movie! It is one of my favourites but think others would come close such as The Lion King. I'm also glad it's getting recognised and an attraction of it's own! :thumbsup2

No have not seen Sleeping Beauty yet but it's on the list and will be coming up soon!

Lol it is one of my favourites though don't think I've seen it enough times to know it word for word! Maybe give me a few years and I'll be able to say the same!!

Thanks for throwing some out there - you have given me a few ideas :thumbsup2 I can only fit in one a week though so have to be selective but will probably try and fit in the others after our trip.

It sure is great!! Yes, Ursula is quite scary looking - even I went a bit  when seeing her in the film! Lol I love reading about the different ways Jasmine reacted to movies when she was younger! I laughed out loud at the story of Ursula asking Jasmine if she would be her 'new best friend'! :rotfl: What were the chances of that happening, esp when you had just told her she would just go right by! Sure are great memories to treasure! :thumbsup2

Thank you - it tasted delicious as well! :goodvibes

Thanks! I sure hope we do so we can return again!

And yes, I am looking forward to writing our post-trip report even though I don't want to think about our trip being over :confused3

I sure loved 'The Little Mermaid' - it was such a nice movie to watch! Aaw thank you...I liked that the pasta dish did not take long to make as well! As you may be able to tell I can get a bit lazy when it comes to cooking! :rotfl:

That's what I thought - I'm really looking forward to seeing The Voyage of The Little Mermaid at DHS! :thumbsup2

Hi everyone! Hope you are all having a good week!

I just wanted to say that

2 months today we will be leaving rainy Manchester behind (yes it is raining) for 2 weeks in Disney World!!!!!

The online sales were also calling my name again! I need to stop looking at sales with the intention of not buying as I always end up magically pressing the 'add to basket' button! :lmao:

So I bought the following shorts.

As they are white will probably not wear them in the parks as the could get wet and messy, which would not be a pretty sight! ;) I was thinking I could wear then when resort hopping or going to DTD.

I also bought the following top which matches and will go with the shorts very nicely.

We are going to start putting things in suitcases in the next couple of weeks and I can't wait!!

Hope you all enjoy the rest of your week! :goodvibes
