Our September 2011 Pre-Trip Adventure!! (Update 09/29/2011 - Link to TR!)

Hi everyone! Hope you are all having a great weekend!

Mine has been pretty good so far. We went to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2 on Friday and let me say it was AWESOME!!! We loved it soo much and can't believe it has all come to an end :confused3 However I will def be buying it when it comes on DVD and all I can say is go and watch it. You will not be disappointed.

Yesterday I went to a makeover demonstration event with a couple of my close friends. We had a great time together and got free drinks and samples. The main reason I went was to try and get some tips on makeup that would last in the heat and humidity of our trip. I bought an SPF Foundation Powder which I was told will last for a long time in the heat. We shall see if it works. I'm tempted to put it on and stand in front of the gas fire to see if it works :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

Anyway I watched Cars this week in anticipation of Cars 2 which isn't released in the UK until 22 July 2011. If you have seen it please don't give away too much - feel free to mention if you enjoyed it though :goodvibes

I actually made a menu for this film - I'm hoping that each week I will get better at doing a themed movie night so that by the time our trip arrives it will be done to perfection!

We had McQueen and Mater sandwiches with Lightening Tyres! The sandwiches didn't come out as great as I wanted them to but they were still tasty.

I then had a nice cup of coffee with Sweet Traffic Lights.

My little sister got me the mug and I love it :cutie:

I did mention that we might be having a girly movie night but did not get a chance to fit it in this week. I'm hoping to try and do that for next week instead.

Hope you all have a great Sunday! :goodvibes

Bummer about the Dessert Party, makes me nervous just how busy September is going to be.

Love the movie night menu, v cute :)

HP7 was awesome, they went all out and did it justice. Cannot wait for it to be released on Blu-ray, looking forward to watching them all from the beginning :) What was your favourite scene? I loved when they took back the castle, had me a little teary eyed.

I saw HP7 this weekend as well and angree that it was awesome. I'm trying to convince my mother to go see it so I can watch it again. :rotfl:
I love your Sweet Traffic Lights; they look delicious!!! And I think your themed movie nights are great!:thumbsup2

Jasmine and I haven't seen it yet, but my sister and her family have and they said it was awesome! I love your imagination when putting these meals together...the "traffic lights" look delicious!;)

Oooo, what were your "traffic lights" made out of? looks yummy!

Cars 2 was awesome! No spoilers here!

Too bad about the dessert party, but you will be so pleased with your AP dinner that I bet you don't even notice. But, I agree, keep checking.
:cool1: For 2 months!!!!!!

Awww, cute theme night! :thumbsup2 I haven't seen Cars yet, I'm just not really interested in it! :confused3 I'm sure I will someday, but it just seems like such a boy movie!

Oh no, that's sad that you weren't able to get a booking for the dessert party. I can't believe that it was booked that quickly.

DH and I went to see HP7 Part 2 last night... it was awesome, thrilling, heart-wrenching, perfect.

Enjoying your movie theme nights! What's next? ;)

I know - I couldn't believe how quickly it filled up. I really hope it is not an indication of how busy it will be

Thanks - I enjoyed making that menu :)

It sure was - I really wanted to go back and watch it again! My sister has the first six so once both part 7s are out we will be adding it to the collection and watching them all together - should make for a very long movie weekend! :thumbsup2

I don't want to spoil it for those that still want to watch it but I thought the bit before the castle fight was great and yes I got emotional over it as well. I found the bit right at the end a bit wierd. I knew it would happen but it just didn't feel right :)

It sure was, wasn't it? ;) Just talking about it makes me want to go and see it again! Hope you manage to convince your mother - my mums the same. She just said she'd wait until it comes out on DVD :confused3

Aaw thank you - the traffic lights sure were delish even though I felt guilty because of the calorie content! I'm trying my best and am hoping that they will get better as I go along :goodvibes

It is awesome! You guys should try and see it if you can fit it in with all the planning etc! It also advertised WWoHP before the movie and Zaheer and I got all excited about the prospect that we would be there soon :cool1:

Thanks - I got most of the ideas from the movie thread and seeing other DISers movie nights so can't take credit for the 'traffic lights' I enjoyed making them and even more so that I got to eat the treat! :rotfl:

Thanks - I got the idea from the movie thread and adapted it to things we had in the house or could get from the local shop. I used shortbread fingers, melted chocolate spread and M&Ms as the traffic light buttons! They were very rich and yummy! :thumbsup2

Yay am glad to hear that! Looking forward to seeing it and thanks for not giving anything away! :teeth:

:cool1: For 2 months!!!!!!

I sure hope so - I really didn't want to rush my AP dinner so even if there was availability for the Dessert Party I would have been worrying that I may not make it and feel rushed during my dinner. I will def keep checking :thumbsup2

Lol, it's 1 month, 3 weeks and 5 days now! Not that I'm counting! :rotfl:

Thank you - I enjoyed putting it together! :thumbsup2 Lol I was the same but then I saw it on tv a while ago and loved it! I enjoyed watching it again as well - try and watch it when you get a chance as I think you may enjoy it :goodvibes

I know I was sad as well :sad2: I feel a bit better now but will still keep trying in case there is a cancellation. Look forward to reading all about it in the new TR though :thumbsup2

It sure included every emotion going and do not think I have seen such a great movie for a while :thumbsup2

Thanks - I'm enjoying making them! Didn't think I would as am not the most creative but they are fun. Lol I can't give away any secrets but am looking forward to the next one as it will include a foot spa! :teeth:

Hi everyone! Hope you are all having a good Monday! :goodvibes

Mine has been miserable so far. It is pouring down with rain and I had an interview this morning - let's just say I know for definite I will not be getting the job :sad2: So what was the first thing I did when I got home - come on here to cheer myself up. It has helped and I know my mum will talk some sense into me when I see her later! It is all experience though so I suppose I should take it as a learning opportunity.

I really hope I can have something in place for September as even though supply work has it's advantages I would love to just be in a permanent position in one school. Will keep you updated with what happens - at least I am now free to enjoy the rest of my Monday.

Oh, I'm sorry you had a bad interview! You are right though, look at it as a learning opportunity and move on :thumbsup2

Sorry about the interview :( But the more experience you get at interviewing (even bad ones) the better you'll be for the next interview! Did you get a chance to see Harry Potter this past weekend? I thought it was amazing!

I'm sorry your Monday did not get off to such a good start... I hope it improved for you, though!

I agree with the others, even "bad" interviews are practice. I found during what seemed like TONS of interviews, that each one got easier and easier and I relaxed each time.:thumbsup2

Thank you! I feel better about it now and know where I went wrong. It sure is a learning opportunity - now onto the next one! I have been filling in quite a few application forms recently (which is a headache in itself) so am hoping one will come through.

Thank you  I know - I always think like that as well but just felt really down when I got in earlier as I know that it did not go as well as I wanted it to. All part of the learning though :thumbsup2 I sure did watch Harry Potter and it was amazing!! I'm going to miss my yearly fix of a new Harry Potter film. There's also a behind the magic tv programme that follows every Harry Potter movie and I watched the last one the other day. I felt sad afterwards.

It was interesting though in how the magic etc happens - I also learnt that Harry Potter had gone through 80 odd wands since the first film!

Thank you - yes it has got better! I was just really feeling down before because it had not been long after the interview and I knew I had done a bad job of it. However, there are plenty more and I have definitely learnt from this one.

I sure hope that is the case - I have relaxed a bit since my first one so it can only get better, right? ;)

Sorry your having a bad start to your week:flower3: I wish it was raining here, instead we have very hot weather with temps in the high 90's combined with the humidity it feels mire like 110 degrees! I can barely breathe outside.
I know the DIS alway cheers me up!

I do hopew you find something that ypu will enjoy, and have fun with your Mum later!

Sorry about the interview, but everything happens for a reason and this job just wasn't meant to be because the right one is out there. Chin up

Hi Tanz. I am sorry as well about the interview but it is good to see that you are taking it as a learning opportunity. Hopefully this is preparing you for an even better job to come your way!

Sorry about the interview. I know how you feel! I am looking for a job right now too, had three interviews so far with no hiring offers. :sad2:
