Time to wish all my limey peeps the best new Year EVER!

We went up the street to our friends and played domino's, cards, some STUPID dice game and ate all night! Started with what they called "a light meal" turned out to be STEAK POTATO & SALAD??? From then on it was non-stop food, sausage rolls, phyllo pastry of all types & shapes, I made a crab/cream cheese roll that was to die-for, candy, pretzels, tarts, cookies AND i made an eggnog bread that was from a W.W. site and it has yet to be cut into so I can have a treat later! I bet the weight is not so good now -- I have already decided to avoid the scales this week.

I can now offically say two exciting things --- we are buying a new (yes that is right BRAND SPANKING NEW) car this year and the bestest most excitingest news of all, I get to see the DUCK next year :cool1: :yay: :cool1:

Nice siggy RICK!

Happy New Year

We live in a parish that allows fireworks sale, and since we live out in the country, there really aren't any laws governing setting them off. So, since it started getting dark, our normally quiet street has sounded like a war zone. They've had some really pretty fireworks, but the girls are scared to death of the noise.

Are's aren't allowed, but that didn't stop anyone. Sounded like guns popping off for about 3 hours. Some were real close. Lots of sirens too. Thankfully it calmed down after 12:30AM

Anyone see Dick Clark last night? I thought he did so well and it was so sweet when his wife came out and hugged him and he told her he loved her!:cloud9:

Planning on a NISSAN VERSA -- hopefully either metalic blue or red

We are planning on going for our 25th anniversary & our b-days. That means we will arrive the Sunday of your Thanksgiving! This time round we are staying on site for a FULL TWO WEEKS.

When are you planning your next trip for?

Yes he did a few years ago and everyone thought that was it --- surprise who appears on New Year's Eve THAT YEAR -- man is amazing. What spirit he has

SNOW SNOW & MORE SNOW! It is a true winter wonderland out there.

We had to brush the car off before we could come home last night and then again 15 minutes later when John went to get Em.

This am we woke to between 4 - 5 inches of the white stuff and it is still coming down, good thing i love it.

Happy New Year everyone!!! We missed midnight last night. We were too caught up in Trivial Pursuit to realize it. :rotfl2:

We watched, Catie of course had to stay up and see Miley and the Jonas Bros, so she stayed up too. I thought it was sweet as well, and thought I had heard he had another stroke this past year??

So exciting, both the car and the trip! I thought you were going in 2009, though? Of course, NOW that is next year, right?? We are hoping to go in 2009 again, Rick is starting to check out the hotels, trying to figure out where we will stay this time; his first choice is Wilderness Lodge, but I am thinking maybe a moderate, like Coronado Springs or Port Orleans would be better (as in more affordable). Do you know which hotel you will be staying in, Jacqueline?? You really should make sure you go to the Donald's Safari breakfast, it was great...

No snow here, but yucky cold! This morning when I got up the actual temp was zero, but with the wind added in, the wind chill was -10, ick!

Yuppers -- 2009 and since we slipped into 2008 it IS next year -- sneaky me, i just can't wait to go so it sounds closer to say next year instead of 2009.

We are planning on the Port Orleans Riverside not because it is one of the cheaper hotels but because it is where we stayed last time and LOVED it! The spread out landscaping and quiet paths are perfect for our liking -- we are both looking forward to some slow walks without the kids (last time they were in tow and whiny)

I have heard things about Donalds Safari but not sure what kind of food it serves, care to enlighten this DUCKIE?
