I'm guessing you made the good team? We go throught that too. I rufuse to play travel.. Our travel team out of our area goes to other states at least 3 times a month. I could never afford that.
My son made the "good" team this year. He played for them in the spring and they must of liked him to keep him because he isn't the best. He doesn't suck but its not his strong sport!!

He was on the top team last year for his age so we knew he would make the team for his age. He did not make the team he tried out for in August but we didn't expect he would as his energy still wasn't too great and still has its down days.
We don't have enough kiddos here for a house league so we only get travel. We'll do probably 4-6 tourneys mainly at this age level. There is no league play until squirts. We'll probably go to one tourney in new mexico though. We actually prefer to travel to some of the smaller tourneys because our kiddos are more evenly matched then just going to Denver and getting spanked game after game.

Wow even our worst rink in the area is still almost 200 an hour. How is the goalie? Not sure. The manager is suppose to email me the entire schedule for the season. she just gave us our october schedule. I told her I was doing DL in Jan and needed to make plans so I needed the whole thing. LOL

Silly hockey people don't they know Us disers revolve around disney first and hockey second......... :rotfl2:

The goalie is looking pretty good so far but he is only facing our kiddos and most don't shoot top shelf yet so time will tell how he continues. At least we have a goalie and it isn't my kid. My youngest is gearing up to be a goalie and actually looks like he might be decent. I'm not sure if I'm happy about that though. We really are trying to steer him other directions but so far he flocks to the goal.

Know what you mean this is the first year we are doing local tournaments since we usually get beat bad too. We have a good team this year. I just hope it doesn't go to their head after taking it all in the spring. We got all the kids back but one. Not bad.... Definately have to keep me updated on all of it. We just started squirts this year and its actually fun to watch and get into. Sorta like a real hockey game and not just kids playing. LOL

Mine was its usual chaotic self. Crazy busy getting out of the house in the morning and then followed by a crazy chaotic day of work, followed by the mad rush to hockey then the mad rush home to get dinner ready, homework done, kids bathed and into bed in approx 1 hours time which didn't happen as I still have kiddos up. Going to be a rough morning for us here.

But in all the chaos of the day I did make a great dinner in the crockpot of beans and ham with some fresh cornbread tonight. Thank heavens for the crockpot. We would starve come hockey season if it wasn't for the crock.

OMG I feel for you. I wouldn't let my kid get near the net. I get nervous enough when he gets the puck. :rotfl2: He is just learning to lift the puck. He is a natural defenseman but this coach puts him in forward because he is one of the few kids that will play back when the defensemen go forward. I so hope he get a goal soon. He has been so close so much of the time. Lots of assists!! The only goals he has ever gotten (3) he was at the blue line. :rotfl2: I am keeping my fingers crossed for that kid. He is really getting into it so I know once he gets a goal it will light a fire under his you know what???

Each year I think it gets better and better to watch them cause the game improves so much. Sometimes after watching cody it is really hard to sit through a whole game of the 4/5 y/o's. They are cute as they crash and bump all over the place but it is a step backwards in the excitement level. Hopefully your team will do well. I'm holding my breath about ours. We lost about half of our team from last year but the better kids from last year are still on the team so that's good but at this level they pick all the best skaters for the top level (D) which most teams we'll play won't have any 7 y/o's on at all. We are about 1/2 8 y/o's this year which is better than last but we'll never skate against these kids in these big leagues again because these kids will all go onto A and AA teams and we'll go into B and C teams at squirts which is when our kids start to feel like they can win. We only won one game last against a D team. There were entire tourneys we went to and didn't even score a goal. It was painful but the kids had a blast and we had a fun team.

Emily brought home school pics today and I just picked up family pic from a summer wedding this afternoon @ drug store.

Anyone wanna see them?

Well I think I'm going to snuggle on the couch with my puppy and watch some more of last years greys anatomy. I don't have tivo so I'm pretty limited on my tv watching. Ok we watch a lot of hockey and occasionally I will watch a little er, maybe sometimes I get to catch part of law and order. I got started into greys anatomy and loved it but can't seem to get home in time to watch. I sure hope santa brings me Tivo. I only watch tv from about 10pm-midnight and I'm really tired of watching letterman and leno.
