Now my dh would get into that. There's not a cops/or prison show he hasn't watched.

Wow we just got back from hockey. Did you have fun? First official game is on Tues. we have a scrimmage on Thursday.

What do they charge you for an hour. Ours is $200.
Yup $200 for an hour here too; and they were trying to raise to $250 this year :sad2: . That rink bugs me sometimes. After the second group of kids went out the zamboni broke down (it's a piece poop anyways) so no clean ice for men's hockey. Okay, we can handle that. Then they want us to pay full price??? They finally charged us half for playing on the snow.

Then, player/coach for the pro guys that come out to play with us wants to do something nice (Thursday is there last night to play out with us, and the their camp opens up) so he brings beer for everyone. Well, the rink complained because he didn't buy it from them. After all the other days that we go up and spend money at their place and they're givin him poop about this. Talk about burning bridges. Oh, well. P.S. had my one drink then my several glasses of water, and left 45 minutes later.

Ok my cat is stuck up on the roof AGAIN. in the summer I would get the hose out and spray him a little and then he'd remember how to climb down but it's getting too cold now to do that. I can't get up there to get him either in the dark or I'd probably break my neck. I thought cats were supposed to be smart. This one doesn't got it. :cat:

You have alcohol at your rink. Man am I glad we don't. I have horror stories from my 2 years being on our board of directors about parental behavior. I can only imagine if there were liquor on site. DH's men's team does bring "snacks" for their game and the rink over looks it though. Our rink is so mismanaged and run down it is a shame though. They actually won't sell their ice because then they'd have to staff the rink. Like one person to run the zam and answer the phones is getting paid $105/hr. Got to do City work(interpretation required here)

Our ice is $105/hr. Cheapest ice in Colorado and our rink looks it. We finally located a goalie so now we can schedule some scrimmages. Looks like we'll have one in a week. You guys play in a house league don't you? How many games will you have over the season?

I want to say around 15 (don't quote me). The league is 4 years old this season, and little by little we've been trying to improve it. It is a house league. Remember this is Deep Deep South Texas (15 minutes from Mexico) so getting kids to do this instead of football (Texas Religion) is tough. We have about two teams per division. They play each other, then we switch them up some. Later in the season we'll put a travel team together for the higer divisions and let them play some other Texas teams.

It was so fun to be out there again. I have to admit to you all now that I am the head of officials for the area (yes I know boos & hisses). I don't get to coach a team, but I do help out with practices. I have a lot of fun with the kids; especially when I ref. They all know me, and that I'm Mr. Referee; they'll see me and give that evil little grin. :rotfl2:

But in all the chaos of the day I did make a great dinner in the crockpot of beans and ham with some fresh cornbread tonight. Thank heavens for the crockpot. We would starve come hockey season if it wasn't for the crock.
That sounds soooooo gooood!!!! YUM

I need to know,,,what is 3,6,9 goose drank wine????
It's a hand game rhyme:
3,6,9, The goose drank wine,
Monkey chewed tobacco on the streetcar line.
The line broke,
the monkey got choked,
and they all went to heaven
in a little row boat.

It wasn't until I was teaching third grade last year that I realized how un-PC this is. Animals partaking of controlled substances, you know :sad2: Just like, "Not last night but the night before, 24 robbers came knocking at my door... hit me on the head with a bottle of gin!" All of those wholesome kiddie rhymes

Opps sorry! I had 1st an ice-cream sandwich THEn big huge bowl of vanilla chocolate hunk ice cream. This is special stuff offered only at one store here. YUMMY vanilla and the chocolate pieces are not hard! Long strings sorta hard but you can eat -- oh oh oh I remember now it is called Chocolate fudge crackle

Oooh, that sounds good. I had the Dryer's Grand Light (it might be called Edy's Grand Light where most of you are) Brownie Chunk. It's pieces of brownie in chocolate ice cream. For those of you out there who believe there is no such thing as too chocolatey.

And that was after I went to Chili's for dinner with friends. I ordered a plate of the southwestern eggrolls and ate it all myself. Usually I try to have a more balanced diet, but sometimes, I just gotta cut loose!

Talk about chaotic, my class did fingerpainting today. When I used to be the mom helper in my DD's kinder class, I would take 3 kids at a time and help them fingerpaint. Today, I had 8 at a time, and they were all :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc . I love Halloween, but the kids are already starting to go whacko over it.
I went right from work to dinner at Chili's, and I had a couple of nice splotches of orange paint on my clothes. The best one was on my sweater, in a place that sticks out a little further.

Too funny :lmao:

God Bless Fingerpainting teachers. It's a tough job but someone's got to do it. Glad it's you and not me. Brody came home with a fingerpainting today too. Must be the day for it.

Yeah, and we all turned out alright!

I know it seems like ages ago. I remember taking hunter safety at school and there being a shooting club. Seems impossible in these times that could have ever been and I'm not that old yet either.

Are you calling us a bunch of Nutzo's??? Okay, just checking :thumbsup2

Yes! My major goal in life is to be a little less crazy than my mom is, and have my kids turn out a little less crazy than I am. A girl can dream, can't she?

Speaking of dreaming, I'm off to bed. Goodnight. :wave2:
