our secret green club? Part 4a

Well I'm home tonight. I decided to skip out of hockey practice tonight. I am feeling guilty since I'm the team manager of the littlest guys. I don't have my team yet though cause they have to pick the rest of them for the middle level team first. I get the left overs for my team. Most of them 4-6 years old. They are too fun but I never know what kind of families I'm going to have to deal with since this is their first experience with hockey for many.

Can be kind of scarey. You'd be amazed at how many folks think little Jimmy is headed to the nhl.

So I volunteered for the job of introducing them to the world of youth hockey (competitive in our organization).

I wasn't feeling to well tonight and just not quite up to task tonight. I'm hoping I'll have my team assigned to me by Tuesday so I can meet them all during practice.

Well I'm off to store. Just planned my menu for the weekend. Think we are just going easy tonight and having french toast. Tomorrow though I'm making baked ziti. Yummy. It's one of my favorites.

Ahhhhhhh, yes!!!! And let me tell ya gal - it doesnt get much better as you age. Heck, even at 29 (cough, cough...) I love a good mall!!!! (In fact more than when I was a teenager - man, was I a tomboy.........)

:sunny:

I love going to the mall (but only if I am by myself or with Cody). But if I have to go with both boys I'd rather have a bikini wax it's that miserable.

::yes:: I'm struggling unbelivably in algebra.. And I'm a straight A student.. :sad2:

It always amazes me how our brains process things. I was great in math and still am but I really struggled in geometry. My brain just didn't work that way well. Keep at it though you'll get it. I did.

I made a ticker just for us guys!! :) For the limey meet, it should be up soon!

::yes:: Me too. Although geomatry was always easy for me.. :confused3

Dweatl love the guys read web site. Cody and I sat down and made a list of books. He has quite a bit of money on a b+n card to spend.

He's going to buy some of the hockey series books like screech owls. Have you ever read any of those?

PS - Teresa and Co, the mall is called Chesterfield Towne Center - it has an Old Navy, just got a brand new Macys, Gap, it has one kid play area and evidently a new kid area is opening tomorrow!! (I saw that when I googled its web page today.) It is probably 1/3 of a mile from the hotel, if that. The biggest problem is you have to cross a BIG road,....but there are street lights there.....

http://www.chesterfieldcenter.com/

Oh, I have an umbrella stroller, if that works - gave the biggie away recently to one of the poor PhD students having a wee one.

pps - there's a Target on the same side of said big road!!!! Right down the side road fromn the hotel - and that same plaza area has the "good" grocery stroe too (Ukrops...theres a bunch in Richmond, best grocery and VERY Richmond! :) )

Some nearby restaurants (I have to work more on this - will drive around there tomorrow..) Lone Star Steak House, Carrabba's (Italian), and Tripps. More to come! :sunny:

I had the exact same problem!!!! I LOVED LOVED loved algebra but couldnt get geometry at all! :confused3

Jess I would take it if you have the change - because at the very least its practice and just learing about the test helps for the next time...especially getting over any fear of the unknown! I took the pre-SATs' (I dont know if they still have that...) twice and the SAT's twice - and each time my scores went up, once even so much that I was shocked (I had a bad cold...so I just didnt even stress aobut the test...I was too sick to care. The time I relaxed I did the best!!)

Basically, its never fun, but good to deal with as early as possible - you'll do great!!!! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the encouragment Va-Bear!!

You're welcome and you WILL do great. I really am a firm believer in fear being one of the things that holds us back them ost in life. So fear-not the SAT's, just some papers with a WHOLE lotta strange questions on them.

They say those prep books, classes , etc. are very good too. (THey probably are all on-line now!)
