Hi everyone! Picked up my dozen LGMH's at Home Depot this evening in preparation for my December trip. Ran into a friend of mine in the paint department and had to confess what I was doing

You think they called me Mrs. Disney before...I may as well just go ahead and stick on of these on my locker tomorrow when I go it to work!

:rotfl:

:wave2: :welcome: to the party: ! :woohoo: :cool1: :cheer2:

Howdy everyone,

It's been a long day for me and DW. We got up early to go fishing with her daddy down in Grand Isle, LA. Unfortunately, it was raining pretty heavy so we didn't get to take the boats out. We did manage to pick up an awesome deal on fresh shrimp right off the boats. Large 15 count shrimp for $2.75 a pound. YUMMY YUMMY YUMMY picked up about 10 pounds to bring home. :cool1: :thumbsup2

Tonight, I have to head in to work around 9PM Central to help unload a semi at our Schwans depot. Gotta love working in a -20F freezer :)

When I get home, I'm going to try and finish up our trip report for our drive home from Orlando.

do u all have old bay seasoning where u live? everyone here uses it on all seafoods--especially crabs n shrimp. we had shrimp in sc n the kids wouldn't eat it because they thought it was too bland. :(

Never heard of Old Bay. We have TonyChachere's here in Louisiana (Creole Seasoning) and Zatarain's (Crawfish, Shrimp and Crab Boils).

What the heck is Crab Boil?!?!- sounds painful. :rotfl2: Old Bay is a seasoning that is used on seafood such as when steaming crabs or shrimp! Very yummy. I think its found only on the Eastcoast--- apparently mostly used in Maryland. I think Utz snacks are another product found only on the Eastcoast.
I think Zatarain's makes some. You use it for seafood boils. I know the east coast does it. I like shrimp, sausage, red skin potatoes, corn on the cob, crab/shrimp boil (they have liquid and dry versions), and cayenne pepper. Made some last weekend. I don't care for crawfish so much (too much work for not much meat), but usually people will through crawfish in. No so much salty as spicy. Yum.

I hadn't gotten down to your post yet MrOakie. See I knew someone would understand. I'll make a pot of shrimp & sausage crab boil on the weekend, and since I live by myself it lasts me most of the week. $20 get's me about 5 dinners. :thumbsup2

Yes, he'll be in the dorm, and this morning before the kids got up, I was lying on the couch crying. Now they're up, it's stiff upper lip time.
I just talked to DH, and he agreed that 1/1-1/7 in O.C. is OK with him. I don't know if my kids will come, but DH and I are the party animals, anyway. party:

Poor thing - it must be hard.... Everyone says they grow up fast - but it REALLY IS super fast!! Tonight my sister looked shocked when I said something about how I have been a mother for 7 1/2 yrs.... then she grabbed Cole and hugged him and said "7 1/2 years!!!!!" Mind you, she sees him at least every other week, was there the day he was born, anc knows full well how old he is... guess the shock just go to her! :rotfl:

I actually think my DH thought my going to CA in early Jan is a good idea!!! (We talked about it tonight at dinner....) I love aprty animals!!! (Bears love all of their fellow animals - especially FISH!!! oh, and crabs!!!) What part of CA do you live in? How far from DL? :)

Awwww. Poor, D. I think I'll cry, too, when my DS heads to college. 1/2 because of the tuition and 1/2 because he's going. :rotfl: But I can imagine how that feels. My boy's getting his driver's license next week and that already makes me wanna cry!

First week of January - I am so there! Looks like I'll be making a couple of trips in Jan, I guess. No biggie. I can certainly do that to see my limey buds!

All this talk of sending our children off to college has me tasting the bitter sweet tears rolling down my cheeks. 1st year was hard for all four of us (Em missing her BEST friend since they are only 2 years apart they never left each others side) John and I , well you know the whole "that's my baby" BUT the dorm was wired and before we even got home (2 hour drive) Kids were MSN-ing! Talk about love eh? He is in a co-op program so once he graduated from highschool he will not be finished till September 2007 -- I owe, I owe so off to work we go! Last year was hard enuff BUT let me tell you this is even worse. When he went in September, he packed up almost everything he owned. Rummaged thru our camping gear to get pots, pans etc. When we came back that day both of us hardly talked.

I still walk past his door with a heavy heart since I know that he as truly left for good :(

 Nooo! I don't want my first baby to leave! Two more years. Such a short time. He's so "duh" right now at 16, though, that I worry he'll be able to get along on his own at all once he moves out. :rotfl: Maybe he'll still need me!

Hi everybody! Just wanted to drop you a quick note to let you know I have the bestest DH in all the world. He and LizzY went to the Mets game at Shea Stadium today and he bought me a lime green mets hat. So that's how you identify me at the motherland!

When I moved to Louisiana 4 years ago, I got a crash course in southern cooking. One of the first weekends I was here, my inlaws had a crawfish boil. Since then I've been hooked. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 tons of boiled crawfish, red potatoes, and corn on the cob... omg... I'm making myself hungry just thinking about it :) I've loved just about everything I've tried since I've moved here. The only thing I won't eat is oysters. Never did like the taste of them

Wow since my son's b-day is at the end of the year (Dec 19) he left home when he was not even 18 and it is young eh? But you know what? I got almost daily phone calls (and still do!) He ends every phone call with I LOVE YOU MOM :lovestruc

He often calls to ask about recipes and what will work. I get calls about cleaning products that will work for certain stains. And we gotta love MSN he even pulls it up whilst in class :lmao: and checks for us :thumbsup2
