Those of you who have flown recently are the liquid bans still in effect? I am going to wither without my bottle of water on the plane.

We flew last week, just getting home on Sunday and the liquid ban on board aircrafts is still in effect, although I did see a lady bring a Diet Coke in one of those plastic bottles with the straw on board and no one said anything to her. She did have to young children with her, but she was drinking from the bottle, not either of the two children who were with her. I wonder if she's been living in cave not to know about the liquid ban.

I read that airlines are stocking more on the plane, but I also think you can buy them once you pass security, as long as you don't mind paying more for a pint of water than you do for a gallon of gas.

Have a fantastic trip. for everyone to stay healthy, but for heaven's sake, get those kids some Purel and Airborne to go along with the pixie dust!

Got both. We all have colds right now so I'm hoping we'll be well on our trip. Now if florence stays away.

OH i am sooooo happy for you! I totally understand the feeling of floating in the wind so to speak. Still no doc: meds I might have enuf to make it to end of month. Biggest problem for me though? I have no front line person to call in times of trouble. The past weeks has been positively wretched -huhm did I spell that correctly? I wish I could pick up the phone and talk to her since I know that if she heard my voice I would be in to see her

The liquid ban is still in effect. You might want to pull up the airline you are flying on and check the list of banned items before you finish packing just to be sure. As of right now all liquids (with a couple of exceptions) and gels are banned from carry ons. Gels include gel inserts for shoes

Sleeping Beauty Dreamer, do you take offense when people call you SBD? My sister used to do those and then pull the blanket over my head and trap me. Another reason DS will be majoring in psychology in college

The bats in our neighborhood are really going to town. We can hear them squeaking as they fly through our backyard. Kind of eerie, but we've had a few cases of West Nile Virus around here, so anything that eats mosquitoes is with me. That's also why I've been leaving the garden spiders in peace this fall and letting DS take any 8-legged invaders outside rather than me stomping them and shouting, "Die, die, die!"

I don't mind at all if someone calls me SBD. I had never really considered it as being offensive in any way as I knew it was just the initials of my screen name.

Hi everyone

As of tomorrow morning I will be in the single digits for my trip and the best news is that I have a doctors appointment for Thursday afternoon and should be back on meds before my trip. No more mood swings means I will be able to enjoy the motherland all the more nor take any of my mood swings out on my sweet nephews or sister (that has been a big worry for me).

YUCK I hate the first day of school and I don't even go anymore. We had soccer practice; hockey practice; and open house for school tonight. I am so tired. I haven't even had time to get working on my TR. It does feel good to be home. I am sitting here looking at my messy house because I haven't even unpacked yet. Oh well it will be there tomorrow. I am trying to get my son set for his first day of school tomorrow. I have everything but a protractor. I'm sure he won't need it on his first day. So what have I missed since I've been gone?????????

Good luck with that. We are fortunate enough to have ds & dd1 each on seperate floors & each floor has a bathroom so that helps big time!

Well I got my pets taken care of today for the journey.

DH and I still at some disagreement at where the news should be broke to the boys. DH thinks we should wait till we get to the airport. My mother in Law won't be there so I'm thinking that airport might be a good idea.

My original plan was to ask the gate agent to put a gift box in their seats but oops then I remembered about all this security mumbo jumbo and realized that won't work. Best laid plans. Then I thought about a treasure hunt but I think we are going to be a little short on time for that with the security screening.

Why not just put the box on the foot of their beds for them to find when they wake up in the morning. Either that in their seats for when they get in the cars. That way they can get rid of some of their excitement instead of them going crazy at the airport or even on the plane. Can't wait to hear what happens.
