Hey Cyn,
I know you are getting ready to leave....(wish I was too!!!) but, when you return, do you think I can bug you with a few questions about Disneyland??? I think DH and I may be heading there next year.
Have a great trip!!!!
Thanks!!!!
You can, for sure! Bring everyone else with you and we will have a DL Secret Green meet! That would be sooo fun (especially since I would be able to be there for sure...lol)

Great. The hours change the weekend we get there. Lucky you. You should get some stuff in. From what I have read most people leave in the evening so hopefully it won't be too busy. Good Luck. We are leaving for florida the day after you get back. Guess we will have to shoot for a CA meet. My DH wants to visit his brother in Oregon this winter and I said If we do I am going to DL. Wonder how far of a drive it is from Bend to DL. I'll have to check it out.
It's an almost 16 hour drive! lol

Not sure how I missed this yesterday... I haven't gone to a concert lately, nor planning to, but I think someone here was. Ummmm... I'm thinking....

Hmmmmm.... I believe that was ME!!!! It was great !!! The opening band was really amazing, which is kind of unique. In fact, the only "bad" thing was they played so long we had to go befroe they finished (3yo was WHACK w/ non-sleep giddiness!) - we never even heard the bad we went to see!!

And oly had about 3 drops of rain! And got to run in to some old neighbors - quite nice! :goodvibes

:lmao: :lmao:

Except they all start at 9 or 10 and by then my kids have passed out - I never get to see those cool shows. :( . Well, they will be teens before I know it.

(This is one of the reasons I am REALLY hoping for a fireworks view at WL - along with everyone else there!)

I hope to get a lot done while we're at AK (and WDW in general) but not sure how commando I'm going to be able to go with the injured foot. Though I will still be able to continue on with the vacation, it's going to slow us up some since I can't walk as fast or as elegantly as I could a week ago. We're planning to do as much at AK as we can that first evening (Tuesday) in just a few hours (EE is at the top of the list!) and then we'll probably wait until Sunday to go back for morning hours. I have an itinerary, but how closely we follow it remains to be seen. :)

Definitely going to remember the pina colava (that's not a typo, right?) at Victoria Falls. We'll be doing out grocery shopping that night after dinner (we'll have a car) so I'm sure a nice foo-foo drink will make that chore easier to bear! :rotfl:

Pina Colava... not a typo:) Very good (err.. for medicinal purposes of course;)

I doubt you'll get on EE so late. The fast passes run out early afternoon at best. But, try the single rider line. We'd had waits of as little as 15 minutes.. and only once 30. Usually I wouldn't wait that long, but DD decided last minute she HAS to ride it one more time before we left. Only thing about the single rider line is that you don't get to see the queu... but you get to do the ride!! You'll love it!

I think closest grocery store is probably Winn Dixie. Just past DTD (take that road till you have to turn), left turn and a few blocks on your right. Not my fave.. I go a little further and use Publix. I know how to get to Publix (right down the rode from the Gaylord Palms <-- beautiful place!).. but I couldn't give you directions there. I'm sure DISUNC knows.. I think he said he uses there too.

AK is my favorite park.. but it's probably the hardest to navigate in a wheelchair too. When my daughter got tired once she asked me why AK is all uphill everywhere...lol. Disney magic I guess... It does seem like it, until you're going to the exit, then, make sure your DH holds on!

It was so funny when I just scrolled up and down this page to read another post - every avator is limey!!!!! AHHHHHHhhhhh......its beautiful!

Glad you had fun, Va-bear! We have a summer-concerts-in-the-park series here each summer and try to go sometimes, but the kids always get antsy while we just want to sit and veg. DS ends up wandering off with school friends, and DD will usually head up to the stage to dance, lol (that's my little show girl). I'd kind of like to go to tonight's show (which is Ronny and the Classics 50s music!), but probably will not feel like it or find the time with my WDW preparations in full swing. It's so sad. We've only been to about four concerts over three years. Considering they have them each sunday evening for eight weeks each summer and we live RIGHT NEXT TO the park, that's pretty pathetic!

I'm getting used to my hair being lime, I think I'll run (drive) down to CVS and see if Loreal makes this shade of green!!
My eyes still freak me out though..lol. My eyes are dark brown so seeing them so GREEN... it's weird!!

Yeah, we're planning to use the single rider line. I have heard that the queue is a lot shorter toward park closing (and know FPs are gone way early in the day), so we'll wait until the last minute and hop into line. I figure that way, even if we don't get out of the park until well after official closing, we'll still make our ADR time.

I probably am not going to be in a wheelchair, unless I am really worn out and aching later in the week. I'm just going to have to walk slower than usual, I think. I have heard that about WDW, and AK in particular....everything seems to be uphill!

Funny, we never tried to see the fireworks when we were at WL. I've read it's near impossible to get a room with a view of them.. but maybe from the beach? But you're at an odd angle so maybe not. You do get to see the Electric Parade.. I think it's about 9:35 that is passes WL. We saw it once from the polynesian beach when we went to Ohanas. And again from our Wishes cruise. The captain of the Wishes cruise mentioned when it passes the WL.
Wishes is beautiful, but my favorite will always be Illuminations. I took my daughter at Christmas time, and although I'm pretty sure the program was the same, they played such beautiful Christmas music. "Let There Be Peace On Earth" brought tears to my eyes.. and my daughter knew the words and was singing along so quietly and watching so intently, she looked like an angel.
So even though they play different music, they end it with Kellie Coffey singing "We Go On" (whose voice reminds me very much of Celine Dion), it's still so beautiful, and always reminds me of Christmas anyway.

BTW.. you know that AKL and WL are on the same price level right? Standard rooms are the same price.. And I believe the woods view is equal of the price of the savannah view.

Well, try to go soon ! i fuss at myself for nto going more.... But, you're right it's really not too relaxing. I do remember fondly one period - of about 12 seconds - when my little one was actually sitting safely on someones lap and the older was playing Uno w/ the old neighbors kids....I closed my eyes and SOAKED in the breeze and the great usic. It was a GREAT 12 seconds!

Queue looks SOOOO Much better when you spell it..lol.

Now you see if I'd printed up directions to begin with I wouldn't have had to find out where things are by getting constantly lost! But, I've found some interesting things while driving around aimlessly :)

I're read a lot of things that say since the hurricanes the views are MUCH better - kind of a shame ...but good for us.

We got the cheapest "standard"at WL. Everyone said it was pointless to get the cheapest at AKL because there's no view of the savannah (animals.) So...I figure I'll save up til we can get a view of animals.... :sunny:
