A friend of mine just made front page news because she chose to have a home birth with the assistance of a midwife. (It made the news because it's actually illegal in Alabama, so she actually gave birth just north of the Alabama border in Tennessee...)

I played around with my avatar.. made my eyes green.. you couldn't tell once I made it small enough for an avatar, so I made them REALLY green, and I looked like the undead This will have to do for now till I find a non me pic I like.


I only have 3 pages to catch up from taking a walk.. not too bad.. Thank you all

Note to self: 20 minute 'powerwalk' impossible with a 9 yr old. It turns into a 45 minute "mommy can I bring my butterfly net just in case" "mommy let's see what's in the lake" "mommy wait! - I'm trying to catch a frog" walk.

Those are the best kinds of walks though. Those are the memories you'll remember when your kiddos are all grown up.

Can you all tell I'm missing my littlest pirate. He's been with family for a week now. I just talked to him and he's having a blast (almost equivalent to wdw) but he's starting to get homesick. Two more days till he comes home and we can go on treasure hunts.

DH and I got a couple of windfalls in the mail today that added up to just over $2k - we figured there's no way that money would have come right before the trip if everything else had been going perfectly, so I traded my toe for LOTS OF MONEY!! Woo hoo! Might have to make a couple of extra ADRs.

We're pretty much ready to go RIGHT NOW! Into the suitcase things go and we're ready to go out the door. I'm very excited. Wish I had some of that Hogwarts bone mending potion, though. Heh!

That's wonderful! What a perfect time for unexpected money!.. more ADRs & more souvenirs! I'm sure going to DL you may think you wouldn't get that many, but this is DW! World has more letters than Land... so better stuff! And, you can get things that say Expidition Everest and Dinosaur! And Soarin' without the "California" part!
My Fave park is AK.. I just LOVE the atmosphere. Even if it's crowed, it doesn't lose it's appeal to me. That's probably why I like AKL so much.

4 days off and ready to go...lol.. NOT ME! I was checking lists (yep, checking them twice and didn't even wear red!), STILL trying to find a missing suitcase (would you believe it was inside the big one ), trying to figure out how not to overpack (again).... I felt very disorganized.

I know you'll have a great time! If you find any Potter potion.. be sure it's bone mending and not the polyjuice!!

I have unpacked... but the laundry seems to have NOT made it down to the laundry room yet. I was planning on doing it Wednesday.. then I realized it was already Thursday and I rationalized since I promised Wednesday to myself I should keep it a Wednesday. Afterall, another one is coming next week!

I'll give you brief update on Cody.

Started another antibiotic today. Stitches to stay in another week. They aren't going to be fun to take out. I was thinking that I would do it but they aren't going to come out easy. We'll have the final result of tularemia test hopefully mid next week but we are treating for it just in case.

He survived today without a nap although he had the personality of a toddler tonight instead of his usual happy go lucky self. He did get some play time with a friend and rode bikes for about 15 minutes and then came home all pasty white looking.

We let him pick where he wanted to go for dinner and he chose the golden coral and ate a plate full of beef and fish. So glad to see him eating. Hopefully tomorrow will be an improvement also.

His Doc is probably preparing his journal article now and Cody is the talk of the medical community in 3 cities. He is famous unfortunately he is also infamous.

Well as much as I would like to stay up and read and catch up my bed is calling me. I wanted so much to have a beer last night and I was so tired that I was afraid to. So I'm going to turn in a little early for me tonight. I'll try to catch up with you all tomorrow.

Okay...short vent here...

DH and I donated a microwave to the school to use in the nursery. I brought it home for the summer to wipe it down and give it a safe home while the school was moving buildings. I just pulled it into the kitchen tonight to clean it up, and am just FURIOUS!!! It looks and smells like someone burned popcorn in it, which I can understand, but it looks like, after that, no one bothered to ever clean it! The whole inside of the microwave, which was pristine white last August, is a mucky brown color now, and it's obvious that stuff splattered and spilled after the burnt popcorn incident. I've been scrubbing at it for about 20 minutes with one of those Mr Clean Magic Erasers, but the stains and smell just don't seem to be any better. Any suggestions????

Well as much as I must admit that I have enjoyed reading this chain --- I am feeling a bit ---well , sorta confused. I don't know others names, or families or whatever else is being discussed. I know that the idea behind this was to have a group that was inclusive but i am afraid that I feel left out

I have made a few posts to try a join in but have been neither welcomed or included in "conversation"

Urgh musta got me at a bad moment --- downward spiral tonight I guess (check the siggy) sorry. Hope all is well with everyone. My prayers are with those who are dealing with illess and my joy is with those of you who are in count-down mode.

Off to a fun filled day for everyone I hope! Almost all of my fun depends on if it rains or not....and it's not looking too good. (Unfortuantly the gym isinside - so I will not be able to get out of that.) Tonight is a Reggea band (Dh and I used to go see them when we first met 20 years ago!! ) at an outdoor arena where you can still take a picnic (sees to be a rareity these days....) My name is Ruthie I only found this great group last month but.... at first it can be intimidating and unless you can be glued to the computer 24/7 you'll never catch up, I don't even try anymore...there's probably about a months worth of reading I could do IF everyone stopped posting for a month, and I was only away for about 2 weeks but I did find that while I certainly don't know alot of real names I recognize alot of the user IDs, and I was happy to have an actual meet with another member while at WDW and that is priceless so BIG to you !
