My Dh brought me the portable phone in the bathroom one day. My Best Friend's 16 year old son was calling me. Now that was a comfortable conversation:

Brandon: Hi Pixie Dust! Just calling to thank you for the birthday gift.

Pixie dust: You're welcome honey. (trying to talk loud so he doesn't hear the background noise ... I mean you can't just stop peeing mid stream )


After I yelled at DH, he says "Well he just got his license, I was afraid he was in an accident and was afraid to call his mother, so he called you instead"

In fact, I'll join you right now! only for me, I'll try to catch up on the million posts I missed in the last few hours!! And then Later I'll read some of that great book I'm reading... "Midwives" by Chris Bohjalian... good book

A friend of mine just made front page news because she chose to have a home birth with the assistance of a midwife. (It made the news because it's actually illegal in Alabama, so she actually gave birth just north of the Alabama border in Tennessee...)

Everyone like my new hairdo? Thank you anc96 who finally got me my green hair. As I told anc96, I can't believe what joy this brings me. I am sitting at my desk trying not to do a happy dance and bring attention to myself. Although I have my own office, my boss isn't far away. Of course if you new him, he'd probably congratulate me...don't want to take that chance though. Thank you all for your help!!!!!

I played around with my avatar.. made my eyes green.. you couldn't tell once I made it small enough for an avatar, so I made them REALLY green, and I looked like the undead This will have to do for now till I find a non me pic I like.


I only have 3 pages to catch up from taking a walk.. not too bad.. Thank you all

Note to self: 20 minute 'powerwalk' impossible with a 9 yr old. It turns into a 45 minute "mommy can I bring my butterfly net just in case" "mommy let's see what's in the lake" "mommy wait! - I'm trying to catch a frog" walk.

Well I'm at work today trying to not use too much vacation time due to all of this madness when I get a call from the health department. At first I wasn't too concerned because my best friend has a friend that works there and we were asking her some questions. However then it turned into an interview. I asked what was up and she told me that they get a preliminary report from the hospital showing tuleremia (rabbit fever). Now if this turns out to be the case it is very rare. It is something with his 5 different types of antibiotics that he hasn't been treated for. Unfortunately the treatment in kiddos is kind of rough. We are hoping that they will put him on oral medications even though there are some risks to younger kids. If not he'll either have to go back to the hospital for an extensive course of medications either iv or shots and blood draws. I'm so hoping that the risks of the orals are worthy of a trial. So we move from the kitten to the bunnies. Man did I hate all the bunnies before all of this.( whole reason we got a cat)

I thought of you this morning...I was reading (I'm almost ashamed to admit this!!) the most recent book in the Princess Diaries series, and, no joke, she talks about cat scratch fever! I about fell off the couch!!

I'd send you some appropriate adult beverage if I could, but all I can send is pixie dust!!
