My DH has been in the entertainment business for all his working life, so I stopped counting celebrity sightings and encounters a long time ago, but whenever this kind of conversation comes up, I always mention what I like to think of as my claim to fame. John Stamos flirted with me. It didn't progress into hitting on me but I am positive it would have if not for my DH and the girl Stamos was with, but we were checking each other out hard! Now, he's actually still a pretty good looking guy, but this was back in his younger days (and mine) and he was FINE!! This was when he was playing the drums for the Beach Boys; do you guys remember that? Anyway, I just know if not for DH (whom I was marrying in a month) and that girl, I'd have ended up Mrs. John Stamos! Or not, as I would never have been there in that moment without my stagehand hubby, but you get the picture. Of course, I remember this incident, but I bet if you asked J.S. now if he'd ever seen me in his life, he'd say no. lol Especially since it was, after all, almost 20 years ago, when I, too, was a hottie. Now I'm just kind of medium warm, lol That's what 20 years'll do to ya.

But surely even he would remember the lovely lime green hair! And if not, at least you are our Queen! :cheer2: Or Queen in training Princess Cyn! :worship:

Ok first Welcome back Jessie.
Second, DISUNC, what are we gonna do without you? Let me just say you will be writing one very long and in depth TR when you get back!! That's an Order!!!! From the Captain pirate:

Get a bucket of chicken, its finger licking good

Do you know who wrote them?!?!?

The Welcome to the Dis Forum has 4262 different threads, but we have posted to the green club, as of this time, 4340 times. We deserve a reward or mention or something for keeping this forum moving I think! Any suggestions to present to the mods? ;) :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao:

Glad this isn't my test. I only watched 1/2 of these shows. Loved Carol Burnett.

Here's a quiz for you DisUnc. Can you identify these songs from the 1st coupls of lyrics?:

1)Steve walks wearily down the street
With his brim pulled way down low
Ain’t no sound, but the sound of his feet
Machine guns ready to go.

2)Everytime that I look in the mirror
All of these lines on my face getting clearer
The past is gone
It went by like dust to dawn.

3)In the town where I was born
Lived a man who sailed to sea
And he told us of his life
In the land of submarines.

4)Friday night and the lights are low
Looking out for the place to go
Where they play the right music, getting in the swing
You come in to look for a kind face
Anybody could be that guy.

5)I met her in a club down I old soho
Where you drink champagne and it tastes just like cherry-cola
Coca-cola
C-o-l-a cola
She walked up to me and she asked me to dance.

6)You show us everything you’ve got
You keep on dancing and the room gets hot
You drive us wild, we’ll drive you crazy

1) Another one Bites the Dust
2)
3)Yellow Submarine
4)Dancing Queen
5)
6)

I don't know them all, but again I say I'm 14, so that's not all that bad. I'll post my own oldies quiz later.

Quoting myself here to say that I have already finished the syllabus and schedule (taking to printer on Monday), have as much of the course web site set up as is possible before the tech guys straighten out some issues for me, have finished writing the department letter, and now really only have to do the aforementioned grading and pay the bills before we go! I am on the ball, people!! So, naturally, I'm now terrified that some unfortunate event(s) will arise to make my perfectly executed preparations all for naught.

My first job was at the airport gift shops. Man was that cool. Met lots of Celebs. Especially Sports teams and players. Met MC Hammer; Sonny Bono; Richard Simmons; My favorite was the Seattle Mariners ( I didn't even know who they were I just thought cool a bunch of guys to flirt with)

Cool job. Love MC Hammer, Sono Bono (w/ Cher of course), & Richard Simmons.

I forgot I met Curt Schilling a couple of years ago. His wife Shonda went to my high school.

Oh yeah, the stop action Levi's commercial. That was fun.
Did Barry Manilow write the jingles? I know he wrote a lot of commercials, also the theme song for American Bandstand. I'll always remember riding down to Tijuana with my DH and some friends and hearing "CopaCabana" in Spanish. "Se llama Lola, esta una corista!" :dance3:

....and who could forget the great 70's game shows Match Game was my favorite but that is when Family Fued, Tattletales and Press your luck (no whammies BIG MONEY) started

Oh come on, everyone remembers Wheel of Fortune in the afternoon. Also The Dating Game, The Newly Wed Game & still The Price is Right-- back when Bob had dark hair-lol.

MTV has a cool segment where they get the old game show hosts to host a show talking about the different happenings on their game shows. I can't remember the name, but its sooo funny.

Remember the Mike Douglas show. My mom & grandmom used to watch it everyday.

Ok This next Quiz is for Lizzy. She wants to challenge DisUnc! I will try to post a better one let, but here's a practice one. It's based on Broadway shows/musicals.

1) What Movie/Show is this lyric from? Bonus point if you can name the title?

Again...Step, kick, kick, leap, kick, touch...
Again...Step, kick, kick, leap, kick, touch...
Again...Step, kick, kick, leap, kick, touch...
Again...Step, kick, kick, leap, kick, touch...
Right!
That connects with turn, turn out
In touch, step, step, kick, kick, leap, kick, touch...
Got it?

2) Fill in the last line:

Two lives have begun now
Two hearts become one now
One passion, one dream
One thing forever true
I love you!

Certain as the sun
Rising in the east
Tale as old as time
Song as old as rhyme
(blank blank blank blank)

3) What Movie/Show is this from? Bonus -who is singing it?

Oh, one last kiss,
Give me one last kiss,
It never felt like this,
No, never felt like this,
You know I need your love.
Oh! Oh! Oh!
Oh, give me one last kiss!
Oh, one more time,
Oh, baby, one more time,
It really is sublime,
Oh honey, so sublime!
You know I need your love.
Oh! Oh! Oh!

4) What Movie/Show is this from? Bonus- Who is saying it?

Well, the sensible people of this world will say,
"Falderall and fiddle-dee-dee
And fiddle-dee-faddle-dee-foddle.
All the wishes in the world
Are poppycock and twoddle."

5) My personal favorite! What Movie/Show is this from? Bonus-- name the song? Double Bonus who is singing it? (Sorry Lizzy, I'm not sure if you'll know this one so I give you permission to get help on this one -- only because of your age!)

Well I was walking down the street just a-having a think
When a snake of a guy gave me an evil wink.
He shook-a me up, he took me by surprise.
He had a pickup truck, and the devil's eyes.
He stared at me and I felt a change.
Time meant nothing, never would again.
