Thanks to all for the Happy B-days! I had a nice day - after teaching this morning's childrens theater class, DH took me out to lunch at a GREAT Irish Pub - now spending a quiet evening at home with DH and kids. I can't think of a better way to spend my day.

I just thought everyone would like to know that I've transformed my little sister, 7 years old, into a DISBOARD junkie! So, today she went with my dad to Home Depot and what happens as soon as she gets back and sees that I'm home from work?

"Laurennnnnnn! Look what I brought home! LOOOOOOK!"

She then throws about 50, yes about 50, LIME GREEN Mickey heads at me. And about 10 pink ones. She then says, "Why does it HAVE to be lime green? How come it can't be pink or something?" Oh, little 7 year old girls.

So, everyone who will be at POP between August 27th and September 2nd better come say HEYYYYYY to us! We'll be the ones with the LIME GREEN AND PINK Mickey heads on our door & window!

stinkerbell-thanks for OC site & advice, even 14 years ago I had the feeling I was being "fleeced"...still, just to sink my tootsies in the sand is priceless.

cynd - I'm stretching my points & thus far have settled for a mear studio...afraid if I do book a 1 BR, I'll never be satisfied to go back to smaller unit. DH would throttle me if I added on more points. As for your requests, I think you have a great chance of getting most, if not all, of your of them. They're used to room requests, especially @ DVC units. IMO, it's better to call a few days ahead of time & re-confirm what you'd like. Are you using ME, it's rumoured that those guests get assigned rooms first, they do use a "room ready" system @ DVC (1st available room etc.) At least in the studios, many are dismayed with the mess their kiddos make in the HA showers (if you don't need them for wc access). Youngest DS was in a transport chair last Dec. & I was pleased with how barrier free most of WDW is. The buildings near the main pool/check-in tend to be requested. We've never stayed there yet but, the buildings near the back; around golf course look great to me. Their studios are the only ones w/2 "real" beds, all the others have a sofa bed.

Thanks for the info, keishashadow. So, then, you think I should just leave my requests alone and call a few days before to reconfirm? Do I call the resort direstly (I think not, right?) or the other number (for us it's the cast members reservations and adr's #)? We are, in fact, using ME - I think. We have a rental car for at least that first day, but not sure if we're all gonna take it to the resort or half the family ride ME and the other half take the car... Nothing is totally settled yet, but I will keep in mind what you said about ME and tell DH that as well.

OK, so the T-shirt is a little LARGE..This way we get a few year's wear out of it..(he says it looks like a dress)...Hope I can shrink it a little before we leave, or a major growth spurt takes place....

The shoes are mine.. His are actually yellow, like Mickey feet!

Funny you should ask! The Friday before I left, I went to see our investigators to get some of the lime green dye. They had 2 kinds liquid, and powder. The liquid I was not sure about traveling around with in my luggage, so I chose the powder. They told me it will really make the water noticeable. Well anyway, I packed everything (I thought) the night before so I would be ready to go the next day. When we got to WL I found they have the "spring" in the lobby that feeds the pool. I thought this would be just perfect, so I went back to my room to get a packet of the powder only to find in my rush to pack I forgot the dye! This was not really a bad thing though, because I was told that one packet of the powder would keep the pool green for quite a while. What I would really like to do is just have a small stream of green going into the pool just so you could see it going in, but it being diluted after it hit the pool (I do want to complete my stay there). It's going to take a little practice to get the right portion of powder to do that but I have a whole year to practice so...............

OMG, you were serious! We might have had to take up a collection to bail you out of jail!!

My kids get their intelligence and good looks from me. They get their...um....sense of humor...from their dad. LOL
