I asked what was up and she told me that they get a preliminary report from the hospital showing tuleremia (rabbit fever). Now if this turns out to be the case it is very rare. It is something with his 5 different types of antibiotics that he hasn't been treated for. Unfortunately the treatment in kiddos is kind of rough. We are hoping that they will put him on oral medications even though there are some risks to younger kids. If not he'll either have to go back to the hospital for an extensive course of medications either iv or shots and blood draws. I'm so hoping that the risks of the orals are worthy of a trial. So we move from the kitten to the bunnies. Man did I hate all the bunnies before all of this.( whole reason we got a cat)

Sorry I just skimmed a little. I'll try and catch up again later on. Going to leave work and have an adult beverage here shortly. :drinking1 Man do I need it.

Wow same song 2nd verse. Your son will never look at animals the same again. I will pray that the right treatment comes out to take care of the problem with the least amount of stress for all of you. Big hugs, lots of love and patience sent your way!

Please lift up prayers and positive thoughts for my son, Chip. I have mentioned that he has broken a large majority of his bones & has cronic back problems. After a car accidn't last Nov. He was told that "all" his verterbra in his spine are in a "chronic condition", meaning that along with the 4-5 lower ones that have compacted or compressed, the upper ones are starting too.

The humidity is non-stop here now. for us 70+% isn't to bad, but for him, it makes the pain worse. He can feel the weather changes befroe they come.

He did see his cronic pain doc yesterday, which was a day early, but hasn't slept over 4 hours any night in the last 2-3 weeks and not keeping much food down eiter. She did change up his meds and put him on 24 hour bed rest to see if it would release some.

As always, there isn't much I can do for him, except listen and pray, but hopeing even more would join in with us that he can function again soon.

Thanks, kathy & Chip

Well, my comparatively mild chronic neck and back problems are clearly pretty insignificant next to Chip's, but they do help me understand what he must be going through - which can't be described very well in words at all. I hope the change of pain meds helps out some...the bed rest should do a little good (but it's sooo hard to stay down, especially at his age!) I hope he begins to feel a bit better soon. Poor thing. That must be hard for all of you. It's so hard to have to watch your own child be in pain and not be able to do much about it.

Santa Clause

Ummm...NO! Santa Clause will not pay your bills or keep a roof over your head. He is mainly into toys and rec equipment! And there is quite a list of others who can't provide it either... Tinkerbell, tooth Fairy, the Easter bunny or even Bubba Clause to name a few! :lmao: :rotfl:

95% of my vocabulary cannot be found in the dictionary.

Mine to. My mom wrote down that I use to say: Fan-tab-U-los, snal-e goster (roller coaster) and In-dructions (instructions). Like I said before, I twist the "new teen words" around and have my older sons rolling their eyes!

ktlas&kids - great pic of your kiddos! Best wishes for your DS, he must be a strong-willed young man, such a burden to bear. I have chronic cervical issues but, nothing on the scale that your son suffers. I thought the pain mgmt specialist they sent me to was a joke...kept wanting to do an epidural but, side effects could be paralysis...uhmm, no thank you. Has he tried bio feedback or PT & TENS?

hockeymom - hang in there!

Thanks Cyn. I just needed to get it out. He has been on about it for days now, and it just builds up. Thanks for thinking of us!

Sorry to hear of this extra burden - as if he hadnt had enogh problems. I hope the bed rest helps. I remember way back when we were both brand new on these boards (OH SO long ago!! :) ) talking with you on a different thread about all this bad stuff - poor guy (it reminds me not to be too grumpy about the 3rd - and hopefully final - back surgery I need to fuse my entire lower spine.....bleh. But if it helps....and atleast the top parts still ok for me.) I will be thinking about you guys!!!!

The campfire idea is looking pretty good!!! :cheer2:

We are lucky there are days his shirt can touch his back. He has tried just about everything, except acupuncture (the needle thing) and back surgery, which he wants to hold off as long as possible, if not forever. They also want to put in an external pain pump, which would take him off of orals (and have the stupid ER docs quit admitting him as a drug addict due to the meds he is on) and also take away the "fuzzy/muzzy" feelings orals give you. I am hopeing he is sleeping now. Will update when he does me!

Thanks ANC! We are continuing to pray for complete healing, but who knows. 4 out of 6 of us have some sort of medical problems. Lucky I'm the one in 6 who doesn't or this household would fall apart! ;) :rotfl2:
