Our Rockin' Trip to the World~February TR! UPDATE 5/15 ~ LINK TO PTR!!!!!!

I could make an educated guess ........ but it would be a bit unfair, wouldn't it? :rotfl2:

Love your new update - you are now WAY ahead of me! :lmao:
Guess I need to hurry up and update my TR too! ;)

Well, I might have given the answer away already, anyway! :rotfl: Thanks...and I'd love to get this TR done so I could start a PTR for my upcoming trip and get into some planning, although I'm trying hard to NOT make too many plans for this upcoming trip. I'd ALMOST and I say ALMOST consider NOT buying park tickets for this trip and just enjoying time at AKL, but I don't think I could do it. :rotfl:

I can't wait to go to EMH in the evening at MK. I know DH won't want to go since we will have an early morning the next day so I am wondering if I should try them myself. It sounds like a good idea, but then I kind of wonder what I would do by myself. The peoplemover and COP look like good idea when you're solo. I love COP too. It just reminds me of being a kid. The last scene looked so cool back in the day.

I really wanted a new dsrl for this trip but since we are going back sooner than I thought I just couldn't swing it. There is also that whole thing of knowing nothing about photography and needing to learn to use the camera once I got it. I am hoping by the next trip in a few years to learn to take some good pictures.

I always hated when teachers would throw a ball or something out when you answered a question. I have no hand/eye cordination and I would never raise my hand for fear the ball would fly by me. A stuffed president would have been cute though.

I am guessing you were able to find Karin and Tom, but it must have been tough without being able to call them.

Hey, nice feet pictures. I've seen them several times when people post about the Peoplemover, but this might be the first Carousel of Progress feet picture! ;)

I'm surprised that you couldn't find something historical that would be good for classroom use in the HOP dump shop. That's disappointing.

I always miss texts too...especially in DisneyWorld. Whoops.

And would this chapter's title be from KISS? "Rock and Roll All Nite".

I think you should ABSOLUTELY do MK EMHs by yourself. I would have done more rides alone, but the place was packed until well after midnight. I will probably do them on my own when we're down there in July. :goodvibes I truly love them and think its one of the best ways to see the MK, or at least one of the best ways to ride certain things multiple times. Not saying whether we did that or not.... :rolleyes1

And, yes, the last scene in COP did look AMAZING when I was a kid. :rotfl: Oh, how times change...

I'm thinking I might get the new Nikcon Coolpix that just came out. Its only 139 and there is a color that is almost identical to the crappy Casio I have now, so DH would probably not notice that I bought (another) new camera. :rotfl2: I know, totally devious, right?

A DSLR is the fancy kind, with the adjustable lens, correct? Yeah, that would be way too complicated for me, unless I had the time to take some lessons or something. I just need a nice point and shoot that takes half-way decent pictures, which my current camera really doesn't. I've had better cameras in the past. I really liked the Cannon I had, so maybe I"ll look at those, too.

And that's interesting about the ball tossing... my kids love it. :confused3 Hey, to each his own.

May I mention that the MK was packed that day? ;) :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: Ah, yes, it was. At least early in the night!

:lmao: Yeah, I don't know what I was doing on COP. And no, there's very little in the HOP dumpshop, surprisingly. I was looking for something silly, even a Mickey or Minnie dressed in colonial garb would work, and there was nothing. Oh, well...

And yes, Glenn, you're correct. And since everyone else is ignoring the my chapter titles at this point (esp. with Tim not around so much right now), you're going to take this contest with no, well, contest. :rotfl2:

I'd say you're off to a GREAT EMH start!! A snack always helps focus ones' efforts. :lmao: Especially one with fake cheese sauce. :lmao:

I remember you mentioning that on my TR about the history doo-dad. Sorry it was such a bust! Yeah, of all places, you'd really think you'd find SOMETHING in ONE of the American places. Odd.

I am WAY short too- So I'm totally diggin' your pix! I"m thinking your one from CoP was a camera settings check. That or you were bored. But not likely given your love for the attraction.

Nice maneuver going through the shops! :thumbsup2 When you're solo and stroller-less you can absolutely do stuff like that.

Very cool that you enjoyed EMH.. I have a feeling I may be hitting the parks quite a bit by myself on our next trip. Good to know it can be done and enjoyed :thumbsup2

Yes, what is up with Disney and their apparent love of fake cheese sauce? :rotfl: I don't quite get that, but what do I know? Nor do I understand the utter lack of cute merchandise in both the shop at the American pavillion in EPCOT and at the dump shop at HOP.

Since I'm not even sure what the settings on my camera mean (maybe I should read a manual? :rotfl2:), I doubt I was checking anything.

You most certainly can enjoy them by yourself. While I shouldn't reveal this so early on in my trip report, I will say that if that's what it takes for me to see some fireworks in July, then so be it. That's what I"ll do. I'm bound and determined to see Illuminations at least once during this calendar year! :rotfl2: With Disney transportation, if you're staying onsite, there's no reason not to hit the parks alone, especially at night once everyone else is asleep.

Hey,
Great trip report so far:thumbsup2 My favorite area in MK is also Tomorrowland. I downloaded the whole BGM (background music) to my phones mp3 player and I even have it as my ringtone lol. I can't wait to read more about your trip. Have A "Magical" Day

***KEEP ON DISING!***

Loving your solo time in MK.

sorry you didn't find anything in the HOP dump shop. We didn't visit the HOP since my kids are so young, but I read after I got home in a book some interesting tidbits about the HOP with regard to the authentic dress of the presidents straight down to stitching based on the time period. It never ceases to amaze me the detail disney puts into their attractions. Being a history teacher I thought you'd enjoy that information. :)

Can't wait to see you you met up on a crowded MK EMH nightpopcorn::

Thank you! Having been married for over 20 years... sometimes I think we are becoming that "old married couple" who have separate beds and take separate vacations. (we do not have separate beds, but yes... have gone on vacation at the same time... to different places ;)) It is nice to hear that I won't have been the only one to take some time to myself on a trip :thumbsup2

Oh, solo time!! I am jealous! It's on my "one day" list of things to do.
And by the way, cheese fries are one of my not-so-secret favorite things (see PTR). YUMMY:love:!

Thank you and :welcome: That's neat! I'll have to pay closer attention to their costumes the next time I"m there.

Is it terrible that I think that sounds sort of nice? :rotfl2: Seriously, though, I don't think there's anything wrong with splitting up from time to time. Mark has no desire to be running around a park at one in the morning, riding Thunder Mountain Railroad multiple times. :rotfl2: And I LOVE that. Plus, that means I don't feel bad about Mark staying behind in the room with Max. :thumbsup2

I think only having a one makes sneaking away like this quite a bit simpler. :goodvibes

Glad to see you enjoying your solo time at the MK. And so happy you got the expected foot shot on the People Mover and that you got to enjoy your favorite from your childhood -- Carousel of Progress (this is my nap attraction). Can't wait to hear whether you hook up with Karin and Tom as planned.

Thanks, Kathy. It was a fun evening. I now LOVE the People Mover. Who knew? I don't think I had ever been on it before, but I think its just completely relaxing and lovely.

And, we'll see...perhaps I can get an update up later this evening! We'll see...

I'm so super excited! Just got off the phone with Disney and I booked CL for our trip to AKL. It was a very minor difference in price, so I thought...hey...just go for it! Especially since we're not going dining plan, this seemed to make sense, even if all we get out of it is breakfast and cold drinks, I think it will be worth it. Plus, now that I've read up on CL service, I think I'd be wondering what I might be missing if I didn't do it. :lmao: I cannot wait for this trip! Now, I just need to finish this TR so I can start my PTR. :rotfl:

I am so jealous! I would love to do CL at AKL since that is the only way you get to do the Sunrise Safari. There was no CL left for our dates when I checked:sad2:

Thanks! I am really so unbelievably excited. I can't get over how much further my Disney dollars go in July than over President's Week in February. :confused3 I didn't realize the difference would be so big.

Granted, creative discounting on Disney's part certainly helps, but even so, its surprising.

I'm debating doing the Sunrise Safari. We'll probably end up doing it, but I'm worried Max won't really care that much and might not enjoy it. I could care less if he remembers it or anything, just not sure how he'll behave. We'll have to see.
