Our President....gotta love him!

The economic distress our country has endured, and is working through is due primarily to the September 11th tragedy. You are naive if you believe that 9/11 could have or would have been avoided if Gore was in office. Have we already forgotten how many industries were financially destroyed because of that tragedy. The stock market crashed, people lost their entire life's savings, American's quit traveling and spending, companies went under, layoffs were forced.Tax cuts were necessary to fuel the economy--Alan Greenspan stated that plainly and clearly.

I don't understand how we can pretend like that tragedy had no bearing on the loss of jobs and the deficit--and that it's Bush's fault. Do you REALLY TRULY believe we would be thriving with Gore in office.

I point my finger at Bin Laden and the terrorists.

Very well said. It's so convenient to blame the current President for everything, even things that he cannot control that were a direct result of 9/11. NO other President has ever been through anything like 9/11 except maybe during Pearl Habor.

You could just say you don't like Bush or the Ad without getting into debate mode.

I just gotta say... most of what I dislike Mr Bush for has nothing what so ever to do with 9/11. In reality its his domestic polices give me the heebie-jeebies. The polices that have nothing what so ever to do with the tragedy our nation suffered.

all I can say is...when I see Rumsfeld on tv, I see images of US soldiers humiliating Iraqi prisoners and setting back foreign policy 40 years. when I see Rice on tv, I see an inept bureaucracy that had all the information it needed and failed to recognize what it had. when I see cheney on tv, I see secret deals with energy companies, I see a man who testifies before the 9/11 comission "because he has nothing to hide" but refuses to divulge what went on in meetings with energy companies. when I see Ashcroft I see a stormtrooper trampling over our civil liberties. and when I see bush I see an idiot who has no idea what's going on in his administration.

now back to your regularly scheduled programming.

Absolutely. All the "feel good" commercials in the world can't explain these things away.

The stock market crashed

You bet it did, which might explain that sharp rise in the market he's taking credit for in that piece of propaganda called a political ad. He can't have it both ways....everything bad that happens is because of 9/11, everything good (if you can find anything good) is because of him.

Do you REALLY TRULY believe we would be thriving with Gore in office.

Would we be THRIVING? Probably not. Would we be in a better fiscal position? Absolutely. We would not have gone into Iraq if Gore was president. We would have 600 more American Soldiers. We would have the friendship of our allies and respect in the UN. Would we have been better off if Gore were president? Yes. Absolutely.

The deficit is holding the economy back. The deficit he has created.

Nice ad. I'm also behind our President. Could say more, but will leave it at that. Nobody is going to change anybodies mind on this board. But I do like the first ad, the second ad is kind of spooky, getting children involved in this is pretty lowwww.

Loved it Missy, so much more to be said, but alas, as stated, this is not the debate board.

Sorry... no amount of flowerly "oh isnt this nice" commericial can cover up for the damage this man has caused our country.

Terrorist did damage to this country, not the president. President Bush has done a wonderful job in the wake of such tradegy. IMHO people tend to blame the pres because they don't feel powerless if they can blame someone they can vote against. However they have no power over a terriorist, so they don't feel safe looking at the truth.

Two thumbs way up for this ad! Gave me goosebumps!
Go GW!!!

is there anyone here who likes the ad who had not already decided to vote for Bush? Is there anyone whose mind was changed by this ad?

just curious

Gosh, I hope no one decides who they are gonna vote for just because they like an ad:teeth:

(The best part was that no one said "I'm so&so and I approved this ad".)

Thanks for sharing!

Although I am relatively new here, and I usually try to keep my political opinions to myself, I can't keep from typing a response to some of the statements I have seen on this thread.

Let's not forget that our image as a country wasn't shining before President Bush took office. Doesn't anyone else remember that chilling video of the terrorist training camp where the target was President Clinton? Clearly our former leader wasn't looked upon as such a great diplomat with awesome foreign policies. The terrorists hate our way of life, and it doesn't matter who is in office, we will always be a target.

Although you may not agree with our current president, I think it is completely inappropriate not to address him as President Bush, instead of the "Mr. Bush" I saw in a previous post. President Bush has done a fantastic job considering the events he has had to deal with under his term in office.

As a former military wife, I know first hand how much of a burden and how frightening it is to have a spouse go off to war. But, my husband--as well as all our soldiers!--had and have an incredible desire to fight for the rights of our country. If we didn't have patriots such as these in past wars, we could very well be speaking with british accents, we would still have slaves, and we may have had a much bigger attack since 9/11.

I applaud the job that President Bush has done in office considering the circumstances, but mostly, I applaud our service men and women for the dedication to our free country. Without them, we might loose more than just our freedom.

.

While the impact may have been the same as in the number of casualties (I think 9/11 had more) there is one HUGE difference.

The people the Japanese attacked had the ability to shoot back.

This argument works for actions surrounding 9/11. The war on Iraq has nothing to do with 9/11. Nothing. Period.

Nothing in the sense that Iraq did not have anything directly to do with 9/11?

If so, who's been saying that?

BTW - love the Voldemort thing - I borrowed it and sent it to my family, Grandma thought it was great! ;)

I try not to get involved in political threads but....
Wendyl, VERY WELL STATED!

As for Rumsfeld, I hope he doesn't resign. I believe this whole thing with the treatment of the Iraqi prisoners has been magnified to further the Democratic cause.
I hate to think of what the other side is doing to our people, being held prisoners. :( Don't get me wrong...I do not condone the mistreatment of war prisoners...but let's not forget that these "prisoners" think nothing of strapping a bomb to themselves and going into a public area and killing the innocent.

The line was crossed over on 9-11.

As if you didn't know it by now, I support President Bush! :D
