Ok, so i am finally getting our TR done.......it's not been that long really, we've only been back 2 months!!!:rotfl2:

I'm really not very good at technology and despite trying lots and a few lovely people from the boards trying to explain i still can't figure out how to get pictures on so please feel free to add me on Facebook (Jemma Tizard), so far there are 200 pics of our 2010 trip but the rest will be added shortly!

So, the cast!!
DH- Steve, my gorgeous, lovely husband, turned 28 during our trip.:lovestruc
Me- Jemma, 26.
DS1- Evan, our eldest, very grown up for his age, with a bit of attitude, and he's only 4!
DS2- Harry, our baby, very hyper and boystrus, very hard work at times but has eyes and a smile that just makes you melt! He's 2.

Also on this trip we were joined by my mother in law, lynn, (57):rolleyes1 she's never really spent more than a day with our boys so is in for a treat! :rotfl:

OK, so our trip began on Sunday 21st November at around 6 am, Steve and i got up, washed and dressed etc before the boys woke, i checked we had everything whilst Steve did something very very important, the MacDonald breakfast run, a must for starting our holiday! We woke the boys who were instantly excited the minute we told them today was the day, finally!!
They didn't eat much, were far to excited to get into the new Toy Story tracksuits we had bought them to wear travelling.
So, all dressed and fed (kind of) at around 6:45am, we crammed the car full, hooked up the boys dvd players and set off to collect Nanna who lives about 3 minutes away.
Nanna squeezed in we were on our way!!!!

20 minutes into our journey DH realises he has forgotten his watch AND his boots!! Snow was forecast so he couldn't manage with just his trainers, this meant we had no choice, we had to turn around!! We got the bits we had forgotten and set off again.
Whenever we go to DLP we go via ferry, we personally find it easier, Steve loves the drive to Dover and Evan is boat crazy so it works in every way for us!

The drive was pretty uneventful, a few toilet stops, lots of Disney DVDs and excited giggling! We arrived at Dover nearly 2 hours early for our boat, just as we arrived and earlier boat was getting ready to leave and we managed to get on that and were off!
The crossing was smooth, both boys loved it and thankfully Nanna didn't suffer from any sea sickness!
The drive on the French side was again pretty boring, we did have some pretty heavy rain at the end of the journey though, Steve wasn't too impressed, on the English side i had been sat in the front of the car and Nanna had been in the back with the boys, when we left the ferry we swapped, Steve loves his mum dearly but it's fair to say an hour into the journey she was driving him a little crazy....i kept seeing 'the eyes' in the rear view mirror!:rolleyes1
As soon as the very heavy rain started Nanna was VERY nervous and did little to hide it, she's a very panicky person at the best of times so being on different roads, in rush hour, in heavy rain didn't really bring out the best in her!

Anyway, just as we were all getting fed up with being in the car we arrived!!! We were booked into The Cheyenne for 5 nights.
The Christmas decorations were really beautiful, i could feel myself getting teary!
There was no wait to check-in and by 8:45 we were in our lovely cosy room on the Rio Grande.

Nanna watched the boys at the room whilst Steve and i unloaded the car, it had been a very long day, we were all ready for bed but decided we shouldn't be mean parents and should feed our children :lmao: .
We got onto the shuttle bus into the Village and headed for Annette's, we waited for around 20 minutes for a table, this is usually ok but our boys were over-tired and by this point acting up so it was a very long 20 minutes!!
We were seated downstairs in a booth seat, we all had varying burgers that were very nice and agreed that at now way past 10:30pm it was in fact time for bed!
We headed back to the hotel, all washed and changed and were asleep pretty quickly ready for our first magical day!!:lovestruc

Great start, bless your children though - I have to admitt that I would probably start playing up myself queuing to eat if I was hungry, so I don't blame them at all :rotfl:

Looking forward to reading the rest :thumbsup2

Great start, I know exactly what you mean about seeing the decorations, really makes you well up, looking forward to the rest of your trippie.

Dont joke about it! We didnt feed ours when we arrived after our horrific snow-ridden journey - pack of mini cheddars each (on top of the bags of sweets in the car) and just went to sleep! Glad you made it to the food though.

Fantastic start! Love your description of the journey with Nervous Nana lol Can't wait to read more will send a friend request on facebook to see the photos - hope it does not end up like the last time I did this (hope there aren't too many Jemma Tizards lol).

Can't wait to hear more

Great start :thumbsup2 just going to send you a FB friend request so I can see your photos.
