We are DVC members and are allowed to hop to certain resorts. We have never done it before but decided this year we would save the upgrade to a PAP and use our pool hopping options :) Our plans include:

CSR for breakfast at Ventanas and then a visit to the Dig site and swim

CBR for lunch at the Port Royale and then a swim

SSR for lunch at Artist's Palette and then a swim

Port Orleans for a swim, dinner at River Mill or Sassagoula, hit the arcade, and see Yehaa Bob

We are staying at OKW and will be swimming there and trying to eat at Olivia's for 1 of each meal over the course of our trip. Does anyone have an idea of how much a taxi might cost from Port Orleans to OKW? We might want to have a few drinks while we see the show there. Thank you!

A taxi between POR and OKW shouldn't be too much. We drove over to OKW from POR for dinner at Olivia's and found that they are really close to each other.

Sounds good to me.

Though if the lovebugs are still around, expect the swims to be interfered with. Worst place I dealt with lovebugs was at CSR. Shudder. Absolutely ruined what should have been a fun few hours.

Spend the day at Typhoon Lagoon. You don't have move from place to place and it's awesome...then go see Yeehaw Bob!

Did you literally mean doing all of that in one day?

OK I take it back; I can't imagine doing that. I thought you meant doing the different pools on different days.

I think the OP made the point that they didn't want to upgrade their AP to a PAP, which I think includes the water parks. So I assume this is the reason for pool hopping rather than spending extra $$ on water parks

This sounds like so much fun !

I very much understand why disney can't just allow anyone to pool hop, but if I were a DVC member I would take advantage of that, its pretty awesome.

OKW and POR are VERY close, you could also enjoy a boat to DTD then a boat to OKW couldn't you ? Don't boats make that route ?

I think the short answer is that it's not fair on those who pay the big $ to stay at say, YC/BC for the amenities and then someone staying at a value can come and use the pool and potentially leave no room for those who paid to stay there

princess jes... the OP is a DVC member . pool hopping is one of the perks of being a DVC member. (although they have been disallowing this perk at many deluxe resorts lately..ie, storm a long bay, bay lake towers, the uzima pool at AK...
however, as a DVC member , the op is allowed to pool hop to any of the resort pool sshe mentioned.

OP. a taxi last year from AOA to BW was $7.00 as 20% tip was a measly $1.40 I just couldn't do it. I gave the guy $12. I would think from POR to OKW wouldn't be much at all.

Yeah, I'm aware of that, hence why I mentioned that to the person who suggested going to a waterpark that the OP can pool hop for free rather than pay to go to a waterpark

Oh, No :) Not all in 1 day!! We are there 10 days and will be having plenty of downtime from the parks Those are my afternoon break, evening away from the park, restful morning plans!

We have done the water parks before and we like them, but this time we are trying something different :) and saving $360 bucks! Theses plans are for over 10 days not in one day :)

We have been members for about 10 years and I think I remember 1 time we went to the Poly to swim but that was a long time ago. Pretty sure that Stormalong, BLT, and the Uzima pools have always been a no go but I could be wrong. I have never even seen Stormalong Bay!! lol :D we did stay once at AK and loved their pool area! It's like a mini water park! Our decision to pool hop this trip was based on first, the cost to upgrade to the PAP $360 when we are spending a fortune on SWW meals this trip. We usually get a 1 bedroom and eat in a bunch which is doable with a full kitchen. But we went for a longer trip in a studio and I am NOT interested in too much meal prep there, quick bfasts and snacks only. Second my husband wears hearing aids and he finds that the water parks disconnect him for too long..he really can't hear much without them. At the pool he can swim a bit and then sit out of the water and still interact with us. I guess there is a third thing too, lol.. I get sooo tired after a day climbing up and down stairs at the water park! :D I'm gettin' old!

The boats for OKW and SSR dock near the House of Blues/Disney Quest. POR boats go out the other end, near the bus stop. There is a water taxi that goes between the two docks.

I wish I was that ambitious every trip I say let's pool hop this time and I have done it maybe once or twice. When we get around to it that DVC perk will probably be gone LOL have fun!!:beach:

my hubby has the same issue. we haven't been to a water park in a few years because he doesn't want to have to put his hearing aids in a locker all day. guess I'll just have to talk loud. lol for me, not a problem.

for years he didn't have hearing aids and I swear he married me cause I was the only girl he could hear ;) now that he has hearing aids he says I'm too loud.. go figure! lol
