Our over-planned, 2nd annual WDW trip – lots of pics - Updated on 6/28

Great Update!!

How cool is that you got to ride the Maelstron while sipping on some Maragaritas.....Only in Disney!!!!:goodvibes

What do my eyes see...Orange........your dd wearing one of her favorite colors again....:rotfl:

Just teasing!!!

Can't wait for more:goodvibes

Actually Aurora is the orange fan, but Lilo did not fail you, she had the hot pink skorts going on.

I just found your report tonight and I'm all caught up! Great report!! Thanks for keeping the magic alive for those of us stuck at home!

Welcome and thanks for joining!

Oh no, not her too??

How did they like the drinks at Club Cool? I wanted to see an icky face picture from them drinking the Beverly!!!

Great Installment/s!! Hope everything turns out alright!!

They did try the Beverly. I didn't. No picture though.

I don't know what you're doing different from the other Trip Reporters because here on our company computer I rarely am able to see the pictures, it's just blank where their pictures are posted but yours are coming through great!!

My DH uploads the pictures to his personal website, not photobucket. Your company probably blocks photobucket.

I'm love your report. Your girls are so cute! When you're all done with writing your TR, I have a couple of questions:
1) If you could do it all over again, what would you change?
2) Of all the rides, which was your favorite? Why?
3) How did your family like Epcot?
4) What was your family's favorite park?

Thanks for the great report - I can't wait to see what happens next!

(1) Personally I love staying on site. I love being wrapped in Disney 24/7. However, when you are offered free accomodations, why stay onsite?

I would have liked to have gone to non-disney parks, but I cram so much into my Disney vacation that I make that option almost impossible. Next vacation I really want to try Universal.

I also would have liked to have tried the Dining plan. Everyone raves about it. I would really like to know if it is worth it.

(2) My favorite ride is Everest. That ride is so smooth. Disney really raised the bar when they designed that ride. Other favorites, RnRollercoaster, Splash Mountain, Pirates, Soarin.

(3) We actually discovered on this vacation that we really do enjoy Epcot. I was shocked, but we had a great time. The kids even enjoyed themselves. Maybe it was because we casually strolled through Epcot, instead of Mom barking orders "we have to be there for rope drop!!!!" I'm a demanding person. Don't get me wrong I loved rope drop, but you have to follow a schedule and at Epcot there was no schedule.

(4) Magic Kindgom all the way baby!!!!!!! I love MK!!!!!!!! :woohoo:

Your trip report is awesome! You get two thumbs up! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 It's awful two (maybe three) of you got sick on the trip. A sick vaction is just sad! :sad1: I hope you still have a great time! Sound like you are all very good at handling being sick! I'm such a baby I would have whined so much they would have kicked me out of the Hoop De Show! I'm glad your family likes Epcot. Sometimes I think that Epcot is left out of the liked list and it makes me sad because my family and I LOVE Epcot! Can't wait to read more! I hope Aurora didn't get sick!

Yeah, free accommodations are totally worth it! Everest is smooth, eh? I've had back problems so jerky rides won't bode well with this bod. After reviewing your Epcot photos, it looks so different than when I went in '86. I wasn't impressed back then because, well, it wasn't MK. This time, I need to keep an open mind and encourage the kids & DH to do the same. None of them have been to WDW before, so they don't know what to expect. We're planning on 7 days; I'm hoping that's enough time...

Can't wait for the next installment!

If you have back problems, I would not recommend it. It is smooth, but not worth gettting injured. We rated Epcot as our 2nd favorite park. I think that 7 days is enough. I think longer than that you might get disney'd out.

Oh no, Aurora has it now what do we do. I offered her one of my Advil’s, but she would not hear of swallowing a pill. Quickly, we devised an alternate plan. The plan was to find some liquid Advil or Tylenol and see what that does, if she is not better, we would leave. Here is a picture we took right before we devised our plan:

Doesn’t she look crazy in that umbrella stroller? Well, it kept her happy, that was all we cared about. We took the boat back and walked in the first store. I asked the clerk if they had any children’s Motrin, he opened a drawer with all the meds. There was not any Motrin, but they did have children’s Tylenol, so I bought it. I gave her a dose and we rested on the park bench for a good 20 minutes or so until she got up on her own and started walking around. I asked if she was feeling better and she said yes. That was the best $7 I even spent on a small bottle of Tylenol. I asked if she wanted to stay or head back and she wanted to stay, so we stayed. Since we were next to Mexico, she wanted to head back that way, so we rode El Rio del Tiempo again. Not worth 2 rides, but what the heck. I afraid to admit this, but yes I did have another margarita. What the heck we are on vacation right? The girls took apicture of me inside Mexico, but I am embarrassed to show it. It is not a very flattering picture at all.

We strolled around Epcot a little and made it to Figment. Personally I don’t find this right exciting at all, but I do it for the love of the children. We did take a family photo and decorate it for the family. We e-mailed the grandparents and went on our merry way.

As we were walking on over to Test Track, who is that? Looky there sitting on the bench is none other than Fred from last night at the Hoop Dee Doo Revue. Me being the loud vocal person that I am shouts out to the kids and DH, “Hey everyone, it is Fred from last night.” Well, Fred’s wife is in complete laughter, she looks as if she is about pee her pants when she says, “I can’t believe someone recognized him from last night.” She was quite proud of her DH as if she just married a famous movie star or something. We laughed and continued on our course to Test Track. We took a few more photo opportunities:

We rode Test Track with our fast passes from earlier. For some reason we had to split up in two different cars. DH took Lilo and I took Aurora. Both girls love Test Track. Sorry I did not get a red neck photo for you, test Track uses the Photo Pass card and I was too cheap to buy the CD.

Then we headed toward Space Ship Earth. Another exciting ride for the girls, I am glad that they are updating this ride. It is ok, but I like excitement, there is no excitement here. We got off, stopped for a bathroom break and rested on the bench after a small break. As we sat there we thought that we had enough for the day. Once you stop it is nearly impossible to get going again. We called it a day. On the ride home, the girls were hungry. They wanted McDonalds for dinner. DH and I wanted nothing to do with McDonalds so we got something for the girls and decided to get sandwich at Subway later. Since there is a Subway right down the street, we could take the golf cart there. When we got back to the guest suite we rested and ate our dinner. I gave Aurora some more medication, even though she seemed considerably better. I just did not want to take any chances on her having the same thing I had the night before. She was fine though. I washed the girls up and we hit the hay. I gave Lilo back her twin bed and slept with DH that night. DH and I were talking and we agreed that Epcot is really a nice park and we were glad that we went there.

I’ll be working on my final day this week and that’ll be it. The end is near. Thanks for baring with me.

Boy the sickness just spreads... sorry but luckily you seemed to still have a nice trip? Headed back next year again?

It sure did, actually DH dodged that bullet and I would like to know his secret. We sure are headed back in '08, this time a bottle of Germx will be packed in fanny pack and utilized frequently. I plan to be a germaphobe, I am not taking any chances.

Great update!!!

Another maragarita, huh?? :rotfl2:

They must have been good...:goodvibes

Our last day in WDW was not very excited. When I woke up, I was miserable, that cold came back and it was back with a vengeance. I felt terrible and I was not thrilled about flying feeling as terrible as I did. I gave the girls breakfast and sipped my coffee. I pulled myself together as best I could and threw in a load of laundry. I cleaned the bathroom and that was about all I could handle. I had little to no strength or desire to do anything. DH was awesome. He cleaned the remainder of the house and packed the suitcases. I rested in the screen house. Then I noticed these adorable birds. DH was fascinated by them, he got as close as he could and snapped away.

We ate the remainder of the food for lunch and threw away anything perishable, put everything away for the King and Queen and we were on our way home. On the way to the airport we stopped, filled the tank and then filled a little more so that the gauge would read full when we got to the airport. Everything went smoothly without a hitch. When we boarded the plane, DH offered to take the girls and let me sit alone to rest since I was miserable. Isn’t he so sweet? I took him up on the offer. There was a seat open across from DH a woman and her daughter were sitting there. I asked if the isle seat was taken she said, no so I sat down. BIG MISTAKE. The problem was, her husband was the seat behind us with two kids and an infant. I had kids kicking the seat, the baby was getting passed back and forth between Mom and Dad, 4 bathroom trips for the one child in my row (I kid you not, this is only a 3 hour flight), and crying kids because they were scared. Mom was telling them to focus on something, the girl was ready to hyperventilate she was so upset. It seriously was the longest 3 hours of my life. We finally landed and I could not get my butt off the plane fast enough. The King picked us up at the airport, we raved about the palace on how wonderful it was.

That night, I did not sleep a wink. My throat was hurting so bad. I can’t remember having that much throat pain. I called out sick from work and I never call out sick for myself. I save my time for the kids. I dropped the kids off at school and went directly to the doctors. She said it was all viral, no strep, and sent me on way. The next two days were not any better, I couldn’t even get the kids ready school. I overslept both days and had to drive them to school. Lilo’s kindergarten teacher said, “you look horrible.” Thanks! By the time Friday rolled around, I pulled myself together the best I could and forced myself to go to work. Looking back, I would say that I had the Flu because the symptoms were there. This winter, I am getting the flu shot for sure.

It really was a great vacation despite the illness. It did not stop me from wanting to go back. I will just learn from my mistakes and move on.

Tips for everyone
(1) bring a bottle of GermX and use it frequently
(2) Pack a couple Advil or Tylenol on you bag, just in case
(3) For all the Mom’s out there, remember to bring Children’s Motrin and a Thermometer.

Thank you everyone for all your kind words and for continuing to read my trip report.

Sorry you had a bad last day and got sick

How horrible to end up sitting where you sat on the plane..

I, too , would have ran off that plane like a mad woman...:rotfl:
