Our Not So Scary, Very Merry, Honeymoon - An Oct/Nov 2012 PTR

I love the flexibility you have in your planning! I am the complete opposite. Although I do share your talent of procrastination when it comes to schoolwork, though!

I've never really been one to have things planned down to a specific time, but I usually have more of a game plan than I think we'll have this time. I think that's mostly due to ADR's, which we won't have many of this time.

Before I make more Disney plans, I have to interject with another "life post".

I'm DONE!!! :dance3:  :cheer2: :dance3:  I handed in my paper on Tuesday morning. Now all that's left to do is get my final grade, and walk across the stage! :woohoo: The graduation ceremony is in the morning on May 18, so just over a month away. :cool1: I can't tell you how happy I am to be graduating...finally. It's only a B.A, but it's taken me so long to finish it.

The wedding plans are continuing to go well. I found a lady on Etsy (which is a website where people can sell their hand-made stuff) who makes custom wedding gowns. The ones she has for sale look beautiful, but she says that she can also make them from pictures as well. I've got some pictures of a dress I really like and I plan on sending them to her to see what she could do for me. Her prices are also very reasonable, definitely within our budget. She also has a guarantee with her dresses, so I think I'll get my dress made by her. :thumbsup2 I also e-mailed the officiant our ceremony, and he said everything looks a-okay, so that's a relief!

The person we were trying to get to do the catering for our wedding is charging almost double what we were expecting, so we're on the fence as to weather or not we're still going to go with her. That being said, I think the price is reasonable for what she'd be making, and I don't think we could get the same amount of food for cheaper, so we'll probably still go with her, but we may have to re-work our budget a little. We're still thinking on it.

And now I have to vent about work, so excuse me for a minute...I work at a new store, we opened in late October. It's in a developing area of the city, so it's been really slow, and we're only now just starting to see a slight increase in traffic. With more customers also comes thieves, however. In most stores thieves just take the product and leave. We're not lucky enough for that. Well, no one is ever lucky to have thieves...I get  just thinking about them. Anyway, we had a guy in on Tuesday who went around and took bites out of various kinds of chocolate, and some ice cream bars, chewed them up, and then proceeded to leave us presents throughout the store, which we then had to clean up. It wasn't enough for him to just swipe the products, he felt the need to defile our store with them. I'm :furious: just thinking about it. I mean, who does that?! It was disgusting. THEN, just yesterday, we had 2 ladies come in and steal all the coupons off of one type of product. They bought a bunch of a smaller sized version of the same product that were on sale and also had coupons on them, but then later returned, put all the smaller sized ones back, and stole all the larger ones that had taken the coupons off of earlier. I don't understand these people. We got pictures of the offending parties in both of these scenarios, but still. It's annoying and makes me :sad2:

Anyway, now that that's off my chest, I have to go get ready for work. Sorry about that little rant, but I just had to get it out somewhere. Next time I'll be back with a planning update :wizard:

CONGRATS ON GRADUATING!!!! Feels good doesn't it?

Now you can focus on wedding planning and Disney dreaming!

Thanks! :goodvibes It really does :woohoo: I don't think it will fully sink in until a few days before the ceremony though,

I fully intend on filling that empty school void with lots of planning...for Disney and the wedding :thumbsup2

Hello hello! I followed you from my PTR and I'm adding to the Maritimers on yours :lmao:

I love that you're having your wedding dress custom made! How awesome! Are you both going to know what the other is wearing or are you going to surprise each other?

So cool that you're going to see the Halloween and Christmas decorations/party.

Nice flights, getting into Orlando so early! We have something similar out of Sydney and through Toronto. :thumbsup2

Congratulations on being finished University!!

Congrats on finishing school and being engaged! You must be so excited! That's really awful what those people did at your work. I've had a similar situation where I worked at a Tim Horton's and we had some kids come through the drive thru and threw a cup of their feces in the window. It was not pleasant.

It looks like we will be there the same time as you! We are going October 30- November 6. Do you know when they start the Very Merry Christmas parties? I haven't looked in to it because we were sure we were going to do MNSSHP and I don't think we could afford to do both.

There does seem to be quite an abundance of us hanging out here, but I think it's neat there seems to be so many of us on the DIS:thumbsup2

We're still not 100% sure what we plan on doing, but I have a feeling that at the very least we will have an idea of what each other is wearing so we don't clash horribly, hahaha

And thanks!!! :goodvibes

Thanks! :goodvibes I guess I figured if this is our last year on Earth, I should make it count :lmao:

That sounds really nasty, I can't even imagine how :furious: you guys must have been :(

That's awesome! :cool1: Maybe we'll run into each other while we're there :goodvibes I've been trying to wait patiently for the dates of the parties, but it's hard, :lmao:. There has been speculation that the first MVMCP will be on Nov 6, but I'm expecting the first one on Nov 9. Hopefully they release the November hours tomorrow so we can make our guesses based on that... I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Wednesday October 31. Halloween. Day 3.

Now that I've done some thinking about Day 2, and the November hours are out :woohoo: I feel like we will probably go to Epcot that day. We're big users of EMH, so despite having a long day on Day 1, we will both probably want to get to Epcot bright and early the next morning to take advantage of those EMH. I also feel like we may need a mid-day break, so that will probably happen around 2 pm, and then we'll probably end up going to another park or DTD in the evening, before going to the FWR for our Haunted Carriage Ride (which I will have to call about soon to see if I can book one yet).

So, with those slight revisions in mind, on to Day 3.

Because we would have been to every other park, Day 3 will start out here:

Well, okay, we probably won't start out right there, but you get the idea. I'd like to do the Donald's Safari Breakfast again, so I'm thinking that this morning might we might find ourselves here around 8 am (pending ADR availability):

(not my photo, I found it on Google)

Once we're both full of wonderful food, we will likely hit up:

(again, not my photo)

And then, we will do the walking trail once we come back from our 2 week safari, and hopefully we will then take a journey to:
ExpeditionEverest1.jpg

We will likely end up getting FP's and doing the other walking trail while we wait for our time to roll around. Neither one of us have done this ride before, so we'll both be pretty nervous at this point. I'm sure we'll be fine though, if my mom can do it, and like it, so can we!

After this ride, it's pretty much whatever goes. I'd like to stick around to see the parade, because I've never seen it before, but if I don't I won't be too broken up about it, as long as I get to see it once this trip.

So, after our time at AK, we will probably head back to the hotel for a little rest, because we will have a big night ahead of us. Yes, that's right...since it's Halloween, there's no better way to spend it than at...

(not my photo)

I am so excited for this party! :cheer2:  I've been hearing that they will probably release the dates of MNSSHP and MVMCP on the same day, so hopefully I can get the tickets for both parties the day they go on sale.

My mandate for the Halloween party is to do the stuff related to the party. Rides are secondary for once. I figure we will have lots of time to do rides at the MK, but we will only have one MNSSHP to go to. That being said, I really really hope we can ride Haunted Mansion during the party. I would be :cloud9:

So, that's how Day 3 looks like it's going to play out. :thumbsup2 Another busy day, but hopefully we'll get a nice break between AK and MK so we can rest up and get ready for the long night ahead of us. After 3 long days, will Day 4 be a relaxation kind of day? Stay tuned...

You're a brave one for doing MNSSHP on halloween night! I thought about doing it that night as well but everybody told me it will definitely sell out and be crazy busy. So I decided we would go on November 2nd. I looked at the different aspects on both parties and decided against MVMCP, we just love halloween so we're hoping it will be super fun!

I've been wanting to do MNSSHP ever since I found out about it, so I'm super excited that I can finally go...provided we can get tickets on the night I'd like to see it. I am a little :scared1: about how crowded it's going to be on Halloween, but, I'm going with the intention of doing the party activities and not rides, just so I won't be too disappointed if I don't get much done that night in the way of rides. Hopefully we'll be able to get there nice and early and take it easy. I won't mind staking out a spot for the parade or the halloween wishes an hour before if I have to, just as long as I get a good viewing spot.

The Christmas party is fantastic! Maybe it's because I was with my family and it was our first night in Disney that trip, and it was December 18th and I was able to wear shorts and a t-shirt and be just fine (I could never do that here...I'd freeze), but I think it was worth every penny. The hot chocolate was great, and the sugar cookies were awesome...something we couldn't stop talking about for the rest of the vacation. And I can't even think about the snow on Main St. without almost tearing up...everything about Christmas at Disney truly is magical :wizard: That being said, I can't wait to see what it's like at Halloween...it's one of my favourite holidays! Being able to do both will put me :cloud9:

That sounds like a great day! :thumbsup2 Hopefully the party won't be over crowded and you can still get lots of party stuff done. MNSSHP on Halloween night would be so much fun! The haunted carriage ride sounds awesome too.

So my work is having a charity hockey game this weekend in Moncton, and 2 people from my store will be playing (there's a NB team and a NS/PEI team). I've known about it for a while, and was really wanting to go (along with a few other co-workers) to cheer them on, but I didn't have a way up or a place to stay. I knew that a few people had been talking about going, but no plans had been made so I just kind of put it out of my mind...until...

Today at lunch we were discussing the game and who was going up, and I was mentioning how much I'd like to go, when one of the people playing in the game pipped up and mentioned they had room left in their vehicle...:scratchin...

My brother loves going to Moncton, and has a few discount cards with some hotel chains, so I asked him if he could find me a deal...and he did!

So, we're taking a quick weekend getaway to cheer on the people from my store :cool1:

I'm actually kind of excited ...the last time I went anywhere it was Disney last May, and I get kind of stir crazy after a while if I don't go anywhere  even if it's just somewhere close.

Ohhh fun! Hockey and a little outing! I know the feeling. DH and I are going to Halifax next weekend and I'm ridiculously (and perhaps disproportionally!) excited.
Have fun!

Joining in!! Your plans look like so much fun. I can't wait for the date for MNSSHP to be released. I have done both MNSSHP and MVMCP and they were hits with the entire family. My brother wants to do attend MNSSHP twice during our trip. Any plans for costumes??

joining in! we will be at PO a couple weeks before you. I remember yout TR from last May, which was when my last trip was too.

:welcome: and thanks for joining in! We had considered going as zombie brides, but I think logistically that's probably not the best idea...neither one us likes wearing dresses much, and doing a Disney theme park in a big dress might not work out so well...and when we do zombie make-up, we go all out, so I think it might be too scary for children. I thought that maybe doing something with face paint and minimal costuming might be best, but I'm not sure what...ideas?

Oh cool! :thumbsup2 Well, :welcome: back! :goodvibes It's kinda funny we were there around the same time last year, and this year we're staying at the same resort, just a few weeks apart...maybe next time we'll be there at the same resort at the same time

Yeah snow on main street would be kind of awesome to see. I don't know how you even wore a t-shirt and shorts at Disney in December! We went in January this year so it was only a couple weeks later than your trip in December and I was pretty cold most of the trip. I guess I do get cold pretty easy though.

Enjoy your mini-trip! We are also thinking of taking a mini-trip for our anniversary in June.
