Our "Not So Scary" Return to WDW! (updt 11/14) Day 4 - Magic Kingdom - pg. 12

subscribing so I can read all about your future adventure. We are planning a June 2009 trip and I want to make a count down calendar too with the paint samples. I visited Home Depot a couple of weeks ago and "shoplifted" some of each color. I even took some of the non-mickey head samples thinking I could make a flip calendar. I'll have to fill you in on when I get it going. I still have 11 months until we go. Anyway, look forward to reading more posts.

My boys are really enjoying this countdown calender. Last time we did a paper chain, and it just wasn't as fun, I guess. Yes, please share your's when you get it made. I'm interested to see how you use the regular paint samples.

49 DAYS!

:woohoo: :woohoo: :dance3: :woohoo: :woohoo:

I can NOT believe how close our trip is now! I've sent the final payment in, and now all there is to do is wait. :rolleyes1 Oh yeah, and save up some spending money! :thumbsup2

We have a lot going on in the upcoming month, so I'm hoping that it'll help the time pass more quickly.

:donald: and :goofy: start football practice in 2 weeks, and we'll be going camping that weekend too.

I've just applied for a new job. It's at the same preschool :teacher: where I worked last year, but it is for the Director position. I'll probably have an interview sometime in the next 2 weeks. :scared:

Our neighborhood yard sale is in about a month, so I really need to start getting my stuff together so that I can start pricing it instead of waiting til the last minute like I usually do! ;)

And lastly :donald: and :goofy: start school in 3 (THREE) weeks. :scared1: So, I need to finish school shopping. :headache:

I'll be back tomorrow to post some new pics of all the boys, as well as our :dog: 's. We've had Minnie (wonder where that name came from  ) for almost 6 months now, but we just rescued Yogi last weekend.

And next week, I'm going to start posting our Itinerary! EEK! I've been working on day 1 today. I just really can't believe that we are that close!! :upsidedow

49 days!!! You are almost there! And with all you have going on -- new dog (can't wait to see pictures!), school starting, job interview, football practice, yard sale-- it'll be here before you know it! :thumbsup2

Good luck on your job interview!! :goodvibes

Best of luck on the interview! I hope it goes well!

Sounds like things are busy and you know what that means, time flies extra fast when you are busy!

Allyson :)

I just hope all the anticipation doesn't slow time down! :rotfl:

Ok, so I finally got photobucket to upload my pictures. I was getting mad. :badpc:

Anyway, here are a few pictures from :ccat:'s bday. He wanted an "army" cake, and since I usually make their bday cakes, I did the best I could. It seems so plain, but it's the middle of the desert, what else is there besides sand. Anyway, it was good, and :ccat: was happy with it, so that is all that matters!

Here's pooh: . Couldn't you just eat him up?!?!? :love2:

Here's Yogi. He's a 2yr old black lab, that we sort of rescued. My SIL had him, but they didn't really want him and weren't really taking care of him, and I fell in love with him. They said that we could have him, and we were all so happy. We brought him home and gave him several baths to get off all of his "winter coat". Poor thing. He's the sweetest dog and we are really enjoying him.

This is Ms. Minnie. ::MinnieMo She is a 7 month old Beagle/Fiest mix. She's a ball of energy, but thanks to Yogi she's calmed down a lot. They get along great, and she's really happy to have a playmate.

We worked in the yard all day today, and then grilled out. I'm exhausted! This week will be full of cleaning, swimming, and :ccat: , :donald:, and :goofy: all have sleepovers planned. I'm hoping that they end up being on the same night so that it'll just be me, :chewy:, and pooh: for a night.

I'll be back tomorrow or Tuesday to post Day 1's Itinerary! :woohoo:

*Use Safari FP.
*Use Kali River Rapids parent swap pass (maybe).

*Back to Hotel for the night!

I'm really glad that I chose AK for our first day. Since we're going to be arriving so late on Saturday night, it'll be nice to have a small park for the next day as well as an early evening. :thumbsup2 We'll have plenty of time to get rest for Day 2. EPCOT! :woohoo:

I'll be back in a day or 2 with Epcot Itinerary!

Looks great Melissa! I hope he's tall enough for Kali, that one is so much fun to do all together!

I'm really enjoying your PT report. It seems I'll be leaving POR on the same day you arrive. Too bad! Between your 4 boys and my 3 kids we could really cause some commotion! :rotfl:

Thanks for stopping by! It's too bad that we'll miss each other, but I guess we could pass each other on the interstate on the 6th. ;)

Me too! I'm not too hopeful though. He has to grow 1.5" in 6 wks. :sad2: I know that with his crocs on he is 1/2"-3/4" taller, but that still leaves almost an inch of growth. I guess we'll have to see. :confused3

*Head to Soarin', grab parent swap passes, and one will ride with the older 3, while the other goes to Test Track with Miles for FPs.
*Living Seas with Nemo.
*Turtle Talk with Crush.
*Imagination with Figment.
*Back to Soarin' to use Parent Swap passes. Grab FPs for later.

*Back to Epcot by 4.
*Coral Reef ADR at 4:40.
*Use FPs from earlier is we want to.
*Tour World Showcase.
*Back to hotel for the night.

We won't be staying for Illuminations (:sad2: maybe one day). I'm just hoping that we can get in some good World Showcase touring before we leave. Last year, it was cold and rainy on our Epcot day, so we just did a quick walk through.

Up next Magic Kingdom Itinerary. I'm still working on it, so it may be the weekend before I get it posted.

Not an Itinerary update, but an update none the less...

I just really can NOT believe how close we are to this trip! It's surreal!

Anyway, so I finally got the dates for the community yard sale. August 15/16. So I have 3 weeks to get busy dragging stuff outta the closets and garage and getting it all priced. Not to mention all the stuff I still have to get done before football and school start on 8/11!

I've pulled the crib, changing table, and matching dresser out to get them ready to be sold. I was a bit nostalgic while cleaning them up. I kept remembering buying the 9 years ago and getting the ready for little :donald: to be born. :sad1: My how time flies! At that moment I wasn't sure if I could actually part with it all. But after having a few days of them sitting in my hallway, and nowhere to store them, I'm ready to get rid of them. :chewy: on the other hand is a PACK RAT and told me to wait a few more days to think about it before I post them on craigslist. :headache: He says that we can find somewhere to store them. As much as I love babies, and sometimes I get the fleeting idea that I'd like one more, I know deep down that I AM DONE. I'm too near the end of diapers and strollers and diaper bags to go back now! ;) I've also got a high chair, a stroller, a treadmill, and some other big things that I'm hoping will help me bring in some good Disney spending money. :thumbsup2

I've also been trying to decide what I wanted to do special for the boys. Last year we had gift baskets made up and delivered to the resort. They loved this, but I really don't want to set the precident of them getting them every trip. So, I'm thinking that I'll just make them up some goody bags from the dollar store. Give them one on the trip down, and one on the trip home. I've also been thinking of some sort of bag for :donald: and :goofy: to carry to the parks. So that they can carry their own autograph books/pens and maybe a snack and a water bottle. :thumbsup2 I was thinking that I'd get them some fanny packs, but last night at Walmart I saw some small black backpacks that were only $2 more than the fanny packs. I'm thinking that I'll go that route instead. I'll probably pack their "goody bag" for the trip down in these bags and tell them what they are for as well. :)

And for one surprise for everyone (but me :guilty:, why is it that I plan all the surprises and never get one in return :confused3) is that I'm having someone on the Creative Designs board help me out with matching shirts for us to wear to MNSSHP. I'm going to buy 3 of us black shirts, and 3 of us orange shirts and iron on the design. It's really cute. I'll share when I get it back.

Anyway, I guess that's all for now. But before I go I want to share 2 cute pictures. One is of :ccat: showing off his big cheesy smile as always, and the other is of pooh: laying on my bed watching Cars (for the 9 millionth time this month ).

Tomorrow we'll be lining up along the road with tons of other residents from our town to honor a local fallen soldier. His funeral is tomorrow and they've planned for as many people as possible to line the route from the funeral home to the church. So, we'll be there. :crowded:

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

edited to add:

Ok, so while looking at the disney shopping website I came across these.

The backpacks are $1 cheaper than the ones I found at Walmart, and of course have the Disney logo. Anyone have this? Like them or no?

As for the cooler, I like it because it is backpack style. We'll be taking a cooler into the parks, but I know that while we are having to carry the bags (getting on/off bus, etc) :chewy: would prefer backpack style to shoulder strap style. Again, does anyone have this? Thoughts?

I have no input as far as the bags go. The only thing either of us carry is the small camera bag. But we are also pre-children. I was just thrilled to see someone else going the same dates we are! We will be staying at CSR from the 5th to the 12th. However, we will only be in one park the same day and that's for the MNSSHP! Last year we had full, yet thin, costumes on and it was WAY too hot! I think we will just do t-shirts this year with a character them and maybe a few accessories. Although, I have been trying to find an Alice in Wonderland dress, but there's not any nice one's out there and I cannot sew. I can't wait to see what shirts you're going to make. Anyways, your boys are so adorable and I hope you have a great trip! We will be carrying LGMH's, so please say hi!

I'll have LGMH's as well, and I'll be sure to post the pics of the shirts. I think we'll be pretty hard to miss with 4 boys. :lmao: If I see you I'll say hi for sure! You do the same.

Itinerary Day 3-Magic Kingdom

*bus stop by 7:00.
*arrive early and get empty Main St. pics before 8:05 ADR.
*Head to BTMRR (get parent swap pass). While one rides with the older 3, the other will take Miles to get Splash Mtn FP.
*Ride Pirates.
*Ride Jungle Cruise.
*Ride Aladdin.
*Explore The Swiss Family Treehouse.
*Use BTMRR parent swap passes.
*Ride Splash Mtn (take turns).
*Train to Main Street. Hotel to rest.
*Back to MK by 4:30 for MNSSHP.
*Eat CS (Pinocchio's Village Haus) early dinner.
*Ride Haunted Mansion.
*Enjoy Fantasyland, Tomorrowland, Toontown, and MNSSHP!

Sorry it took so long to get this Itinerary posted. I've changed it 50 times, and it's possible that it'll change again, but I'm kinda liking the way it is now.

DH and I went to MNSSHP last year, by ourselves, and we had a blast! The parade was fantastic!! And the fireworks are better than wishes. Your boys will enjoy it so much. I wish we could go every year in Oct. The weather was perfect and so were the crowds. Make sure you trick or treat around the world!

We've heard so many good things about MNSSHP. Everyone that we talk to that has went has absolutely loved it. We can't wait!! I'm sure the boys can't wait for all that candy! :lmao:
