our non-rushing (sorta) disney anniversary w/ PICS & VIDEO! new TR link - p. 136

so my deposition with mark richt went well yesterday. he's actually a very nice guy. a lot of times court reporters tend to be invisible to people, meaning that you get overlooked alot when there are introductions going around the room. the first thing he did when he walked in the room was shook my hand and introduced himself. i did represent and wore a yellow, black and white top. it was subtle and only i knew......but that's all that counts, right? ;)

i received my stuff from disneyshopping.com yesterday. can you say FAST? i ordered it on saturday! :thumbsup2 anyway, everything was great except for that cute pink tank that everyone loved so much. it fit me great through the waist and the chest. then when you get up to the rope part it was totally HANGING off me. i don't understand how it's supposed to fit anyone unless they are twice as big through their shoulders as they are through their waist. :confused3 so i returned it and i'm getting this instead:

http://disneyshopping.go.com/webapp...&productId=1227960&langId=-1&categoryId=53502

i'm hoping it will be just the right size to take in september and that it will hold both mine and erica's stuff. we'll see in a few days!

Ray joins the dark side???:thumbsup2

you'll have to wait and see!!!!!! popcorn::

So sorry about The House of Blues... that stinks. At least they told you before you were seated and all! I agree Wolfgang Puck Express is so yummy- I should have made a stop there last week, that food looks so good- I had the BBQ last trip!

oh, that quesadilla is so good! we actually have a WPE in atlanta, but it's downtown in buckhead and i hardly ever get down that way. next time i'm down there i think i'm gonna swing by there and get us dinner to go and surprise ray!

Bummer on House of Blues! Your lunch looks really good though!

i know! but there was nothing we could do. might as well take the opportunity to go somewhere we know is good!

That food from Wolfgang Puck looks yummy!

it was!!!

The food does look good. Sorry about the House of Blues, though. I want to go there sometime for the Sunday Gospel Brunch.

That happened at Columbia Harbour House once. It didn't involve reservations, of course, but we just happened to head there to eat. They didn't have anything fried - no chicken, no fish, no fries. They just had cold sandwiches and soups. It was a good place to be, though, since almost everyone was turning away and they were not crowded!

I know it is tough to think about, but you're going to have to plan many more trips to get everything in! I mean, just look at your T-Rex sign picture. You'll have to try that, too.

Very nice pictures! I want to walk right onto that boat and take a ride!

well, maybe we should go to the gospel brunch together one day! that is, on one of my many trips so i can eat EVERYWHERE in disney world! :rotfl2:

i've never eaten at columbia harbor house. i have 2 trips coming up to try it though!

I would have went the boat way too!

What a pretty sight!! I am trying to talk DH into going when we are down this summer...who knows though, we have so much else to see & do!!:yay: :rolleyes1

Ok that sucks that they only had 4 things on the menu!! Did you get there during the rest of your trip, or are you going to have to wait for your fried artichoke hearts??:confused3

Have you never been to disney quest?? It is a blast, DH & I went during our honeymoon in 2005!!! Loved every moment of it, but hey, it is disney world after all!! I'd love it no matter what!!

WPE is on my list of CS restuarants to eat when during our summer trip, and your pictures are just reassuring me that I am making a wise decision!! Food LOOKS awesome!!

Can't wait to see some shopping pictures...hehe...I love shopping!! ;)

Lovin the TR...about to start my disney countdown calender and start a Pre-trippie myself tonight!! Keep a watch out!

thanks so much! i will definitely keep a watch out for your TR. have you started it yet?

nope, never been to disney quest. but that's what i love about disney - there's always something new to try the next time!

i'll go ahead and tell you.....we didn't get to go back to HOB. we already had ADRs for the rest of the week and we did go back to DTD, just not to west side. maybe next time! ;)

Maybe we will have to try WPE....I didn't know they waited on you. That's a bonus!!

HOB is really good..I hope you can try it on the next trip.

I wish they had a date on the TRex opening..I can't make an ADR for Dec until they have an official opening date.

i definitely want to try HOB some day. the menu looks fantastic!

they don't take your order at WPE. what happens is you go in and order like at a counter service. they give you a number to take to your table. then a server delivers the food to you. but if you need refills or a to-go box the server will get it for you. so it's a semi-TS. but it's really good and i really do think one of the best CSs out there! the menu is really varied. i think you guys would like it!

good luck on the Trex ADR!

Sorry about the House of Blues. I have eaten at WPE way back in 2001 and from what I remember it was good. When we go to WDW next year I want to take the boys to Disney Quest, my boys love their video games and of course it should be a blast for me and DH too.

my sister is planning on DQ when she goes in a few weeks, but they only alotted about 4 hours for it. i told her you needed a whole day from what i've seen. or at least half a day. i'm sure your boys would love it!

Great pix of DTD! We try to go once a trip and ALWAYS eat at Fultons - love it. For our trip in 5 DAYS, my daughter and I are trying Raglan Road for the first time. We've never been over to the Pleasure Island side before so I'm looking forward to showing her some new sights - but we'll just be looking and not touching. She's only 12 so there will be no enjoying the night life over there just yet!

That rigatoni pasta dish looked delicious!

4.gif
:sad2: Die-hard Yankee fan here!:thumbsup2

thanks! i hope you like raglan road - that's somewhere i've always wanted to try. i read mixed reviews of it, but i hear the atmophere is really neat!

my sister's boyfriend is a yankees fan and he and my husband get a long GREAT!!! :lmao:

Sorry about the House of Blues -- it looks so neat on the outside!

Can't wait to hear about the Adventurer's Club -- I would like to go there sometime.

i know.....i just love the decor! stay tuned for our planned evening at AC......popcorn::

We'll have to add Wolfgang's on our list! It looks great! Yum!

it's REALLY good. definitely try it!

Love WGP Express! The food is really good! Def a great CS value!

definitely! i think erica and i are going to try to swing by there at some point in september.

Oh my gosh, that food looks so good!

::yes::

Wolfgang Puck's is a favorite of mine. Their BBQ Chicken Salad is to die for! YUMMMM!

hmmmmm......i'll have to try the BBQ chicken salad. sounds good!

I am typing this first, because i just read it and dont want to forget it...my parents and sister and BIL just went to disneyquest for the first time and loved it...my dad said it was alot of fun, but he would have enjoyed it more if he had been a bigger gaming fan.

He really like the virtual reality games that you can play.

You are the first person that i found that will be in disney during hte time that we will...we are going form the 7th to the 13th, and i see below that you have Epcot planned for hte 12th, that is the day that we are going there too...maybe we will bump into you...my Pretrip is listed in my siggy ifyou wanna check it out...along with my other reports.

Where did you find the popwarner schedule, is the 10th the only day they are going in the parks, or have something special planned in one of hte parks, we are going to MK on the 10th so i hope that will not conflict with our plans.

I have enjoyed your report, just got through the whole thing, and waiting for more.

:surfweb:

i wanna do DQ some day. just another reason to go back! awesome that we'll be there at the same time! i will go check out your TR and keep an eye out for you. please say hello if you see me!

the pop warner website (http://www.popwarner.com/articles/calendar.asp) has their schedule. it doesn't have the park activities though. but i did some serious research and the only planned park time they have is the evening of 12/10 at DHS. so i think you should be good!

So I'm new here, so I'm just starting to read TRs but i started off with Jordan's TR, then saw flat Winkers and started to read Winker's TR, then saw your too cute Sig. Pic and thought i needed to read your TR too! So, I'm here and excited to read the rest!

awww.....so sweet! thank you! i'm glad you're here. :goodvibes jordan and winkers have great TRs. i hope mine is half as good as theirs!

Better late then never. .. I am only on page 15 so I have a whole lot of catching up to do.. I have been extremely busy the last month so have only really been catching up to Memom's... i cannot wait to read more of yours..

no worries! i'm glad you're here. ;)

At least HoB told you about the difficulties before you sat down and WGPE does look good, that's where I had my first ever Quesidilla (sp?) :rotfl:

oh, that's a GREAT first quesadilla to have. yum!!! :hyper:

Jo...quesadilla.

:rotfl: no worries, jo! my mom still pronounces it "chas-a-del-ya" to this day! :lmao:

great update and pics.

we are eating at Wolfgang Pucks next trip and I cannot wait.

you'll love it!!!! :thumbsup2

I tried DisneyQuest with my DS14 on our trip (Actually last Tuesday) and we had a blast!! I'm not really a video game person, but you can't help and try it all.
Love all your pictures!!

thanks! we will definitely do DQ one day. it's on our list!

That food looked scrumptious! (not sure if that's how to spell it, but you know what I'm sayin') I want to get to the Harley store next time we're down there too. DH would love to own one, but the people in his firm say it's not the "image they want to portray", whatever that means. Oh well, he'll just have to wear the shirts instead.

we have a superior court judge that rides a harley! so tell your DH to tell his superiors to recognize! :rotfl: :moped:

Looking forward to hearing what you thought of Adventurer's Club.

We have a ressie at Raglan Rd- I'll let you know how it works out. Potential for food porn seems quite high.

 only a disser would understand that last sentence! we have an ADR there in september just in case we have time.

I tried Raglan road on jan 29th for my Anniversary this year and our experience was way less than I expected. Our server was not attentive, gave me the wrong order after we discussed it for like 5 minutes, and then, when I requested a candle or something special to put on our dessert since it was our actual anniversary, he flat out forgot and we just got a regular dessert. No writing on it, nothing, after I remninded him he said, oh, I forgot. No sorry or anything. :(

I was pretty bummed cause every other place we went to for our entire trip gave us some sort of "happy' or free dessert or something. Not even an embarassing song! My DH and I weren't impressed with the food but the dessert I ordered was awesome-the champagne covered strawberry pavlovas. I might go back and only order dessert just to have it again!

A DVC-er that I know had the same less than stellar review when i asked her about it. It's a shame cause it's a great atmosphere but so-so food and bad service. Not up to Disney standards in my book. Hopefully ya'll have had /will have better experiences than mine though!

sorry about your experience at RR. sometimes bad service just ruins everything. :( we have an ADR there for september but it's just in case we have the urge to go to DTD that night - the plans aren't set in stone.

so my deposition with mark richt went well yesterday. he's actually a very nice guy. a lot of times court reporters tend to be invisible to people, meaning that you get overlooked alot when there are introductions going around the room. the first thing he did when he walked in the room was shook my hand and introduced himself. i did represent and wore a yellow, black and white top. it was subtle and only i knew......but that's all that counts, right? ;)

Glad to hear your deposition went well. :) Not that I've met him, but he does seem like a nice guy. And, I agree it is very nice to be noticed.

I had no idea there was a WPE in Atlanta. Is it relatively new? There is so much new development in the Buckhead area -- basically wiping out all the old bars. I remember going there many years ago to Jelly Rolls (I think that was the name), which they also have at the Boardwalk in WDW. We ate in Buckhead not too long ago at a place called Nava (again, I think that is the name). It was really good.

In honor of your deposition with Coach Richt, take a look at Jay's shirt he was wearing at MK.

DSC_0043.jpg

I think this was taken a couple of days after we saw you. Neither one of us looked our best (have no idea what was going on with my eyes and Jay wasn't feeling so well), so don't judge us by this photo.

after lunch at wolfgang puck express it was time for some SHOPPING!!!

the first store we hit was disney's days of christmas. we spent a good bit of time in there looking around. i love this mural!

DSC04303.jpg

i ended up buying a 2008 christmas ornament and 2 boxes of christmas cards. the cards were only like $6 each....on clearance! :thumbsup2 i could've spent so much money on christmas ornaments in there. they have so many cool things!

next was the art of disney. we didn't go here last year and, let me tell you......i was in heaven! i could have seriously spent hours in here! i took lots of pics.

this is a disney animator doing her thing. that's her drawing on the screen behind her.

DSC04305.jpg

i would just love having a house full of this stuff!

DSC04304.jpg

DSC04308.jpg

i want this for my office wall.

DSC04309.jpg

DSC04311.jpg

minnie lisa!

DSC04313.jpg

she's such a bad*ss!

DSC04312.jpg

sigh.......

DSC04315.jpg

these were attached to a retro-looking mickey and minnie figurine. the title of the statue was "a day at the parks" or something like that. anyway, these tickets are what ray says they used to have to buy every summer when he came as a kid. he says you couldn't just buy a ticket and ride everything like nowadays. you had to pick a certain ticket that included certain rides. yeah, he's old. :lmao:

DSC04319.jpg

ray loved this one!

DSC04320.jpg

i thought this was cute outside the pet supplies store.

DSC04323.jpg

thought it was cool that they were advertising our resort!

DSC04325.jpg

we went by the pin trading station and looked around a little while. we didn't buy anything - ray wanted to buy his park pins at the parks. we then headed to the lego imagination center. ray was in HEAVEN the whole time!

DSC04326.jpg

DSC04348.jpg

DSC04327.jpg

DSC04328.jpg

i had to get a close up of the hound dog!

DSC04350.jpg

oh, no.......ray has found a star wars section!

DSC04332.jpg

he stole the camera from me to get a few close-up pictures of the star wars models.

DSC04334.jpg

who is that strange girl??????????

DSC04335.jpg

i hope he wiped the drool off his mouth!

DSC04341.jpg

DSC04344.jpg

he's just a big kid!

DSC04349.jpg

after the lego store, we bypassed the world of disney (we had been there the day before and we did return later in the trip) and went to check out arribas brothers. soooooooooo many pretty things in here! i thought about buying this, but decided i needed to make my mortgage payment for the next, oh, 4 years instead!

DSC04352.jpg

we also went to basin. i LOVE this store! so much smell-good stuff!! ray even joined me in doing some of the salt/sugar scrubs on our hands.

ghirardelli was under construction, but they were still open. i had been wanting a sundae from there forever, so we headed over there to get one. we headed over there and, to my dismay, they weren't serving ice cream. :worried: i was having no luck with food today! we did get free samples of chocolate caramel candy, though!

we settled on a frozen slushie from the little kiosk next to the lake. it was really good! here's ray hogging it.

DSC04354.jpg

while we took a break and ate our slushie, flat mattica and beana were still wanting to shop. so beana went back into basin.....

DSC04355.jpg

......while mattica headed over to world of disney.

DSC04356.jpg

we also spotted some really happy peeps!!!

DSC04358.jpg

i headed towards the restroom and told ray i'd meet him at once upon a toy. guess where i found him????

DSC04359.jpg

in the star wars section!!! the boy has a sickness. but hey, i can't complain. at least it's disney-related.

may the starch be with you.

DSC04362.jpg

by this time it was around 3:15 and we were getting kinda tired, so we decided to end our shopping day with a trip to goofy's candy company. the first thing we did was pick out our make-your-own treat. ray got a gingergread cookie coated in milk chocolate, butterfinger pieces and drizzled with caramel. i got a mickey rice crispie treat coated in white chocolate, pecans and drizzled with caramel. Y.U.M.

ray's cookie being coated with butterfinger pieces.

my rice krispie treat drowning in white chocolate.

DSC04367.jpg

that's some professional drizzling!

DSC04373.jpg

while we waited on our treats we browsed.....

DSC04369.jpg

DSC04370.jpg

blue hot chocolate?

DSC04371.jpg

as we were checking out, i noticed the CM at the register. i captured another peep sighting for jordan, but really the reason i wanted her picture is because i love her name - poppy! how cute is that???

DSC04374.jpg

ray decided to play in the fountains before we left. he's such a nerd!

DSC04375.jpg

right after i took this picture a stream of water went DIRECTLY up his shorts! :rotfl2:

okay..........so are you ready for the big surprise from ray?????? are you sure you're ready? here we go!

as we're walking back to our room from DTD, ray turns to me, looks me dead in the eyes and says, "how do you feel about going back to the room, relaxing for about an hour, cleaning up and going to epcot to walk around world showcase before dinner at narcoosee's tonight? do we have time for that?"

:faint:

um.......are you kidding me????????

those of you who read my TR from last year know how much ray loathes epcot and how his one condition for going back this year was no epcot. after he convinced me that he really wasn't kidding, i happily agreed. ::yes:: this was totally unexpected and i was really excited about it!

we got back to the room and relaxed for awhile. we both started on our goofy's candy company treats. that was THE BEST rice krispie treat i've EVER had in my life!!! it was so soft and yummy! it took me, i kid you not, 6 days to finish that thing and it never got hard and gross. DEFINITELY a must-do EVERY TRIP from now on!

DSC04377.jpg

DSC04379.jpg

next up...........WE GO TO EPCOT!!!!!!!!!!! 'nuff said.

Okay homegirl, great update!!! :)
When are you coming to visit me in the ATL so we can go to the Strip at Atlantic Station??? That's my 2nd favorite place, besides Disney, and it's only 10 mins from my house!! Let me know!!!

I am in shock.... what a treat to get to walk around EPCOT! Maybe Ray will change is mind about EPCOT.
Loved Downtown Disney pictures... Goofy's treats are so good... I of course picked one up this trip, but unlike skinny you I ate mine one afternoon by the pool... no sharing with anyone! I also love the Art of Disney store...we got a treat there this time... but I sure would love to splurge there- someday maybe! Tell Ray he can hang out in the fountains with my girls... they so love them!

I LOVE Goofy's Candy Co. Those rice krispie treats are the best. I ate on mine for a few days. They are a great use of a snack credit. I've never been to Basin. I have to go this time. I hope you had a great time a WS. :)

Okay...ghirardelli wasn't selling ice cream? Isn't that what they DO? I mean...isn't it sort of a pre-requisite for opening your doors for bizness?

Loved my rice crispie too this trip! :teeth:

OH another update!!! :yay:

......while mattica headed over to world of disney.

DSC04356.jpg

Matt HATED this store :rotfl:

I wanted him to go to the Lego store but he didn't care about going :confused3 .....the boy just hates anything that has to do with 'shopping'

may the starch be with you.

Or green or Pink!!??!!?? :rotfl2:

Can't wait for the Epcot update!!!! :cool1:

Your trip report was a bad influence on me today. Between reading about the great disney deals on the web, and pictures of shops at World of Disney, I decided to do a little disneyshopping.com myself. I loved the 25% off of already reduced t-shirts, and the $5 shipping, if you spent $50.

You gotta love how the men always end up all gung ho when you are there and when home they are all meh about it! I too love the rice crispy treats, such a great value for a snack! It always take s a least a few days to eat!

Glad to hear your deposition went well. :) Not that I've met him, but he does seem like a nice guy. And, I agree it is very nice to be noticed.

i have no idea how long WPE has been in buckhead. i just saw it when we were down there eating after we saw the lion king in april. buckhead is just crappy now. it used to be fun but i went to a bachelorette party there about 2 years ago and it was just sleazy, i thought. it used to be so fun! one of my favorite places to eat downtown is loca luna's. it's near peachtree street and the fox theater. it's a tapas bar and it's SO GOOD!

love the picture! i almost bought ray the shirt you're wearing. ;)

Okay homegirl, great update!!! :)
When are you coming to visit me in the ATL so we can go to the Strip at Atlantic Station??? That's my 2nd favorite place, besides Disney, and it's only 10 mins from my house!! Let me know!!!

i haven't been to atlantic station yet! anna (my best friend) wants to go. maybe one day when i'm off we can come down there. i'll let you know!

I am in shock.... what a treat to get to walk around EPCOT! Maybe Ray will change is mind about EPCOT.
Loved Downtown Disney pictures... Goofy's treats are so good... I of course picked one up this trip, but unlike skinny you I ate mine one afternoon by the pool... no sharing with anyone! he'd love that, i'm sure! and you are allowed to eat your goofy treat in one sitting.......you're pregnant! ;)

You and Ray would have SO :thumbsup2 much fun at Disney Quest!!!! I can't believe you guys have never gone!!!

it's just another excuse to go back! ;)

I LOVE Goofy's Candy Co. Those rice krispie treats are the best. I ate on mine for a few days. They are a great use of a snack credit. I've never been to Basin. I have to go this time. I hope you had a great time a WS. :)

basin is really cool, especially if you love soaps and things like that. very cool!

Okay...ghirardelli wasn't selling ice cream? Isn't that what they DO? I mean...isn't it sort of a pre-requisite for opening your doors for bizness?

Loved my rice crispie too this trip! :teeth:

they were remodeling and only had a tiny little section open. i'm sure the problem was that the section with the ice cream was blocked off and was being remodeled. they only had their chocolates and things like that out for purchase. it was disappointing.....maybe next time!

Love the update.

Does the Lego store there have the life-size Lego Darth Vader? There's one at DTD at DL, and it even has sound effects. You'll have to bring Ray to CA if they don't have it at WDW. Plus, we have the original Ghiradelli's here. When we eat there, it's ice cream sundaes for dinner all around. When my mom first came to this country from Australia, my dad took her to Ghiradelli's, and she ordered a hot chocolate. Then she saw what everyone else had. She never made that mistake again.

I got DH the Darth Tater when it first came out. He's just a bit of a SW nerd. No worse than I am.

The green Tink cocoa is popular with the SecretGreenClub members (the other thread I hang on beside the peeps).

:thumbsup2 to Ray for suggesting Epcot. He's a keeper!

K, I just had to pick myself off the floor, cuz I fell. Fell out of my chair!
Ray wants to go to Epcot!!!!!!!

We love Epcot so I can't wait to hear how it went! :goodvibes

I love that Walt Vision picture that you wanted for your office. That is very cool! Do you remember how much it was?

Thanks so much for the shopping trip! I love all the pictures of the artwork and things in the shops. I love that Snow White mural, too, and you got a much better picture than I ever have. I don't have good luck with the lighting in that store. We'll see what the new camera does. The sweets look scrump-dilly-icious!

Did you say you wanted to know what our countdown was at?
Yeah?
Okay, if you insist on knowing....
it is 8 days, 21 hours, and 43 minutes!!!

I didn't know you could make your own treat at the Goofy store... hmmm...
That's fantastic!:yay: My kids will love that.
And I had to smile seeing Ray looking at all the Star Wars stuff. Once a kid always a kid. I think it's great that Star Wars has lasted through my childhood and now my kids have seen it too and love it. Who knew? I make my big kids watch old 80's classic movies like the Goonies, Back to the Future, The Karate Kid. My oldest loves Pretty in Pink. Anyway, your DH really loves you if he'll suffer through Epcot so you can go and enjoy. We like Epcot, but sometimes I think my DH suffers through DISNEY just because I love it so much.

i wanna do DQ some day. just another reason to go back! awesome that we'll be there at the same time! i will go check out your TR and keep an eye out for you. please say hello if you see me!

the pop warner website (http://www.popwarner.com/articles/calendar.asp) has their schedule. it doesn't have the park activities though. but i did some serious research and the only planned park time they have is the evening of 12/10 at DHS. so i think you should be good!
yes do come over and visit the Pretrippie, i just posted our trip plans.

If you want to get to know us, go ahead and check out the TR from last year, link also in siggy, and i have been told it is a good one.

that is good that the 10th is there only sceduled day in the parks.

i think it will be a great time of the year to go...i love the cool weather
