We bought a condo lot at Harbour Village Resort in Door County last month. Our plans are to retire here in the summer and somewhere down south in the winter. Here is a photo of the lot before we got started on it:

Here we are cutting down some of the trees:

Here is the fill being brought in:

Here the bobcat is spreading the fill. We brought in 4 - 17 yard loads of large fill and 3 - 17 yard loads of top gravel:

And here is a photo of how it looked a couple of weeks ago:

We now have a shed on it and all we have to do is paint it!

That looks great, Scott. What a great retirement plan, Door is the summer, FL in the winter, hard to beat that combination. Appleton anywhere in there, LOL. Congratulations!!!!!

Wow, very nice!! That sounds like a perfect plan to me, too! LOL.

Where's Harbor Village?? What area is it near? I love Door County. It's so quaint.

What a great place for a summer home! DIS meet in planning right!?v

Growing up, I spent many summers in Door County on Kangaroo Lake near Bailey's Harbor. My grandparents rented a cabin there and my sisters and I got to go with for a couple of weeks. The memories that I am having right now of the little blue cabin we always got, fishing on the lake, horse back riding, and most important, the goats on the roof at Al Johnsons!!

It looks great! Congrats!

I love Door County too :)

Harbour Village is in Carlsville, right next to the winery.:teeth: If you ever want to come up camping, I can get you a site as my guest for $25 a night, as long as I'm going to be there at the same time.

Harbour Village

I love Door County! My mom has a place near Carlsville. It sits in the woods on the bluff above Little Harbor and has a view of Green Bay. When the kids were small we went up there almost every weekend. Since their activities took over our life, we don't get there as often. I'm hoping to get up there for Labor Day weekend.

Enjoy yourself!

When I first saw the photo, I was thinking that you were talking about the bird feeder as your condo. The allergy meds do things to me, sorry.LOL

It seems that things are moving along nicely. We still have a ways to retirement but it is something nice to work towards.

Will you be snowbirds at WDW? That would be the ultimate.

Our plan is to spend our winter's in Orlando, but that's not set in stone yet. My DW says she's going to drive the parking lot trams and I'm going to be the guy in the back! I want to drive one of the Friendship boats at Epcot!:cool2:

I checked out their web site... It looks like a great area... close to everything!

When will they be done building?

Leah,
They are already there! I'm doing all the work on my site! We bought it from a couple down from your way in Milwaukee who have had it for 15 years or so and never used it. The resort has been there for many years.

ACK! I misunderstood! LOL! I thought you were starting from scratch. It's hard to tell from the pics...but I'm a space cadet today.

That whole area sure looks nice! Looks like they have tons of stuff (amenities) for you right there! Very nice.

Boy, the life of leisure for you...D.C. in Summer and the warm south in winter...sounds good to me!
