Our new addition......

This little one was born at 4:00 this afternoon while I was DISin'.....I am not a very good "grandma" to be having fun here when I should be outside making sure everything was going OK!!

I don't know if it is a 'boy' or a 'girl' yet but this is the only kind of baby we will be having around our place for awhile......

IT'S A GIRL!! We spent the evening watching her! She was just minutes old in the picture, yet she was up and walking around, bonding with Momma. Much to our surprise, Momma let DH walk right up and pet baby last night. He had hoped she would be comfortable enough to let him near. Last year, each of our cows had their first calves and they were anxious and nervous and no one went near their babies for months.

By evening time, she was running and jumping! She is going to be fiesty!!

Shutterbug: The neighbors will be jealous!

Nwdisgal: She is a pure bred Red Angus. DH had always wanted to breed Red Angus and, now that we are almost 50, he is living his dream!

We now have 2 Red Angus cows, 2 heifers (girls that have not had babies yet), and 1 steer. The steer is oldest DS's 4H project this summer.
