Day 3: March 15, 2010
You know that feeling when you wake up at WDW? Theres butterflies in your stomach because theres so much excitement and fun to come throughout the day. I love that feeling. I love waking up and knowing we are here for the whole day and night again.
We wanted to get a little sleep since the past two nights we had gotten up at 4! The alarm went off around 8. Now, Ive probably said this before, but vacation is the only time I will happily get up when the alarm blares. HAHA
We still had some bananas left in the cooler from the drive down, so we each ate one on the way to the bus stops. We were having an early lunch that day, so we didnt want to eat too much. I seriously cannot say enough times how close we were to the bus stops! It was so nice, especially late at night when our feet were oh so tired.
The line for DHS filled up fast! There were already a lot of people in front of us, but behind us was starting to fill up too. We were fine with standing on the bus so others could sit, and thats just what we did. A couple all decked out in Texas shirts and hats saw our buttons and congratulated us. Only in WDW is it really normal to start up conversations with complete strangers. I think its neat to learn where they are from, etc.
As we pulled into DHS, we noticed a lot of charter buses with logos on them from back home. There were tons of teenagers getting off of them. We were excited to see if they were from around our area. As we headed towards the bag checks, we noticed a mom and her son from their group and they had backpacks with the name of their school- which we are near! Fiancé and I made it through bag check before they did, so I waited for them and politely asked them if that was really where they were from. They said yes, and I told them where we were from. Turns out, the mom went to high school in the town about 5 minutes away from us! Talk about a small world. Of course, I had to text Mom, Dad, and Sis to tell them.
Then, we made our way through the turnstiles and saw this:
Im sure most of you probably already know this, but did you know that Mickey also acts as a lightening rod? Just a fun fact for ya.
Of course, we had to take a pic of one of Fiancés favorite little things about DHS:
Then, we made it around the corner and finally saw The Hat:
We were on a mission: Get fast passes for TSM! So we headed that way. Seems like a lot of other people were too, of course.
Some of you saw a similar picture to this from my live update:
The fast pass return time was 12 pm 1 pm, which worked out great. With those in hand, we got in the stand-by line which was a 45 minute wait. That is the shortest wait time weve ever seen since we usually go in the summer! I seriously love all the detailing that went into this line:
We eventually made it past Mr. Potato Head and soon we were on the ride. Let me tell you, its hard to take a pic of yourselves once the ride gets going- which is why part of Fiancé is cut off! HA:
It was so much fun to finally be playing this again. All the games were also on our new Wii game we got for Christmas, which brought back memories of playing that to pass time until our trip. Of course, I lost. But, it was still fun. Have you guys ever looked at the top scores of the day and month?! How the heck does anybody get that high?!
After we made it off the ride and returned our glasses, we headed to the one attraction that I think gets overlooked by so many people: One Mans Dream.
I love this attraction with all my heart. Its so neat to learn about Walt and see how WDW and
Disneyland became about.
The first pictures you see when you walk in:
We made our way through and came upon some Disney classics:
Once we made it to the very last room with the animatronic that you can run, Fiancé had a blast. Its probably his favorite part of the attraction.
Anyone who has not seen the movie at the end, I highly recommend watching it! Of course, if youre an emotional sap like me, you will cry. HA. Weve already seen it a couple times, so we skipped out on that. We headed back out the way we came in and started walking towards the Sunset Couture shop towards ToT.
Ugh, can you see all the people?!
Ahh yes, made it:
Of course, Fiancé wasnt too thrilled about shopping, so I made sure to not take too long. Then, we stopped and sat right outside the store so I could write down what we had done so far. While I was writing, Fiancé grabbed the camera, so heres the shots he took:
Haha, me writing:
Us in the reflection of the Planet Hollywood door across the way, HA:
After I was done writing and he was done taking pics, it was time to head to our 11:30 ADR at the Hollywood Brown Derby.
~Up next:
A surprise at lunch, our DHS afternoon, and some more surprises at night!
