~Our March 'Just Engaged',freezing,and full of surprises trip~Updated 6/23 p.76

Girl, I cry at the MK opening show too! I'm sure many of us female DISers do  I hate the last day blues :(

I'm soooo excited to ride the Mountains with you and your Fiance, especially Space. The boys will probably be yelling like idiots and we'll have to join in with them :rotfl:

Ok, just thinking about all the yummy goodies at the Main St Bakery just made me gain 5 lbs. Thanks  :lmao:

Wonderful start to your last day! I totally understand the sadness! I'm already starting to feel sad about our trip being over and it's still over a month away!

MK rope drop and Main St. Bakery are both on my list of things to do my next trip! :thumbsup2

I alsooo love getting there at rope drops! This last trip we only managed to get to 1 rope drop.. idk if we would ever manage to get up at 6am.. I would.. but DH not so much! So great job with taking pics and getting up so darn early! I would also love to be that special family!

last days are always hard, but you're having a great morning so far...:thumbsup2

plus, you're going back soon:thumbsup2

Even though its sad to say and think about, but there is no better way to end your vacation than at the Magic Kingdom :)

Never caught rope drop myself, but it does look like fun :)

YAY!! An update!!!! Aww, I still have yet to see the opening show at Magic Kingdom! We always do the breakfast at Crystal Palace so we miss it! :(

I hope you get to see it sometime. It is seriously so cute!!

I remember texting you saying "I'm officially crying." :rotfl:

Yes! We will all be yelling like crazy. I will have to tell you about the one part on Space that we have to yell especially crazy.

Ooooh man, I know! The rolls are to die for! Will you eat breakfast there with me?

Haha, I still can't believe we got up that early. Especially on vacation. But we did it and it was so worth it!

Of course, the MK is the best! :cloud9:

It was so much fun seeing our first rope drops at AK and MK!

I am silly for getting so sad...I know I"ll be back. It's just the waiting part between trips that gets me!

Yeah, the in-between trips part of life is not nearly as fun. :goodvibes

It's almost June, though, so we're getting ever closer to our newest Disney adventures. ;)

I can't believe you're already at your last day. It's always so sad. Looks like you had a wonderful morning so far. Just thinking about the Main St Bakery is making me hungry!

Day 6: March 18, 2010

They gathered together and had us all counting down…at 1 the family threw confetti and strings and confetti flew out from the train station. It was seriously one of the happiest moments that I’ve ever had at WDW. Of course, being the emotional sap that I am, I had tears rolling down my face. I didn’t want to leave from that moment. Everything was happy and joyous, the real world didn’t exist. All the stress and problems in life had escaped my mind for the time being. We were at my favorite place in the world. To share that excitement with the Family of the Day was so exciting for me. As we started following the herd under the train station, the family was up there waving at all of us. I waved the whole time until I couldn’t see them anymore. I wanted them to have the best experience ever. Of course, Fiancé laughed at me and said “I don’t think they care if you’re still waving.” haha. Maybe they didn’t, but I liked to pretend that they did.

Ok this made me happy and sad at once for 2 reasons:
1. i really know what you mean, I can't wait to be in Disney and experiencing scenes like this, to just be happy and in the moment!
2. your just so nice, the way your describing it is so heartfelt it makes it even more bittersweet and lovely if that makes sense, haha:rotfl: its 1.06am in Ireland and I'm tired but honestly that whole update was so pleasant to read!:cutie:

The breakfast in the bakery also sounds excellent, can't wait to breathe in that smell!:thumbsup2

looking forward to reading the rest of your day, and glad DF managed to distract you from your last day blues

Ugh, last day blues...:guilty:

Your fiance is so sweet helping you see the "day" half full.

Those cinnamon rolls are soooo yummy and HUGE!

So did you notice a difference in Space Mountain: left side vs. right side?

I can't believe how close we're getting to our trips! Kristen pointed out the other day that you will have gone on 2 WDW trips since I went in March and before our July trip!

I can't believe it either! This TR went fast! I still have more of the day to update though!

I want a roll sooooo bad right now!

Aw thanks!! :) Glad to have you for a reader!

I can't wait to tell you all about the rest of our day!

Hi coming out of lurkdum to say how much I have enjoyed reading your report, you have a lovely writing style that makes me feel like I'm getting those fast passes right along with you!

I have complete empathy for those last day blues at disney. All those months of planning, researching, rearranging schedule and then going back to the original plan! You arrive all excited, you don't seem to notice those poor fellows checking out as you are checking in and then before you know it, you are one of those poor fellows! Where did those Disney days go?!

It sounds like you have many happy memories from this trip and another trip on the horizon to plan for.

Thanks again for the Disney nostalgia:flower3: and can't wait to read about the rest of this trip. Will be keeping eyes peeled for your next trip report! No pressure!:surfweb:

Hey Tinkgurl! I think we were posting at the same time. Just curious about SM - I've always wondered if it's a myth about the two sides being different. :confused3 I've never noticed any myself, but then again we've never done the two sides in the same day.

Hi! I'm so glad you decided to de-lurk! :) You are so nice. I'm just glad to have people who enjoy reading my TR's! I really do try to make it so you guys can picture being right there along with me.

Really, I think time moves faster in WDW. Our trips always seem to fly by. :rotfl2:

I'll have another update soon..and you can head over to my PTR with xoktenox if you'd like!

Haha, that's funny. Well to me, there are slight differences to each side. I am having trouble remember which side is which, but one of the sides has a little bigger drop and the other side seems to have more twists and turns. Maybe it's just me though. :rotfl:

Hey there!! Just checking in :)

Looks like you've got new readers! :thumbsup2

Wow...the way you write is just like all of our emotions spilling out on to a tr. You really capture the essence of the emotions perfectly when you write! I bet you could work as a writer for AllEars or some other Disney publication!!

Your morning in the MK sounds amazing. It's on my things to do before I die list to be the Family of the Day. I actually read someone's tr of getting picked once on another forum...sounds amazing!! Also, jenny_105 on here got picked to open DHS! Sounds so magical. I would open any park and be SO HAPPY!! I love that kind of stuff! MK would be the most magical...it seems so perfect. I haven't seen any opening shows except the one at DHS though because of all my pre-park opening breakfasts! Thanks for sharing such a vivid, detailed story of the experience. It brought tears to my eyes!!

Aw thanks girl! :)

That would be so awesome to get picked! Being Family of the Day would be such a great experience.

Hope you feel better soon.

We need to try to be first first this summer at a rope drop, and maybe we'll get chosen. We are at rope drops on a regular basis, but we haven't made a concerted effort to be really, really early to be first enough to be chosen. I'd love to get pictures of the whole train experience and pictures looking out on the opening crowd, of course. That would be cool. :)

Well, I went to the dr. today and tested positive for strep. Wonderful. So, the little guy is going to the dr. tomorrow because he either got it from me or I got it from him. Me and him usually pass around our illnesses quite often.

I would LOVE for you guys to get chosen!

Day 6 continued: March 18, 2010

We left off getting off the train in Toontown and heading towards Tomorrowland to use our Space FP’s. Of course, we used the quiet walkway to Space. As we were getting closer to Tomorrowland, we saw riders getting evacuated from the People Mover! As this one family were walking down the steps and out onto our path, they were greeted by a CM who gave them free FP’s to something! They all cheered and thanked the CM. I was secretly jealous. Haha.

We walked up to Space and showed the CM our FP’s. As we were walking through the line, we kept hearing people comment about how we were getting to walk right past them and why we were getting special privileges. I swear some people have no clue about FP’s! How could you not know about them?! :confused3

As we made our way to the loading dock, we decided to jump over to the left side so we could see if anything was different about that track. I have to say, it was really bumpy still! Which is weird because before the refurb, we liked the left side more…now we like the right side more! But, maybe there really isn’t much of a difference between the two sides, but it sure seems like it.

As we were exiting the ride and riding the ramp back up to Tomorrowland, we said our goodbyes to Space and said “See you in July!” We decided to get back on the train in Toontown and ride it back over to Frontierland. I know it’s probably faster just walking over, but we love the train so much. When the train pulled up, Fiancé begged me to go sit up front with him because he wanted to see the CM’s and the engine and all that..so up front we went…

532.jpg

We had the whole section to ourselves!:

533.jpg

I just love the lights on the train:

534.jpg

And here’s one of my favorite parts about riding the train from the Toontown station…you can get a quick glimpse of the Contemporary to your left as you make your way closer to the Main Street station:

535.jpg

And BLT:

537.jpg

You can’t tell, but today was really cold! We had our hoods up most of the ride! Haha

I don’t remember being able to see Tomorrowland this well on the right side of the train..Did they cut down some trees or bushes?:

536.jpg

As we pulled into the Main Street station, we saw the crowds coming in. Wow! What a difference from earlier that morning! We could definitely tell that more and more people were arriving for their Spring Breaks.:

538.jpg

It was weird not seeing leaves on some of the trees. We are used to the summer weather!:

539.jpg

Of course, while we were sitting there waiting for people to board, I had to say “hi” to the Castle, haha:

540.jpg

After a few minutes, we heard the “ALLLLLL ABBBOAAARRRD!” and off we went. As we went by the Splash scene, I made sure to check out one of my other favorite Hidden Mickey’s. I’m sure most of you know what one I’m talking about!

When we got off, we still had a little bit of time before we could use our BTMRR FP’s..and I had just realized that I had a receipt in my purse from one of our purchases from another day that had a 20% off offer if you purchased something before noon from certain stores at each park. One of the stores at the MK was the Emporium, so we decided to walk over there because we still had 45 minutes or so until it was noon and we still needed to get our photo albums for the trips. Yes, you read that right…albums. We took so many pics this trip that we had to get two albums! Haha. Well in my defense, we took a ton of pics for two reasons: 1) to make the TR more interesting and 2) to show Mom, Dad, and Sis everything we did since they weren’t with. Are those fair reasons? :flower3:

So after we used our 20% off on the albums, we had them sent to the package pickup place up by the train station. Since this was our last day, we obviously couldn’t have them sent back to Pop. I really recommend the package pickup at the park though because it was great not to have to deal with the bags all day! After we filled the form out for that, we decided to head over to buy our photopass pics. We loved both pics, so we decided to buy them both! Haha. I will have to take a pic of them and post them on here so you guys can see them!

After we bought those, we had them sent over to package pickup as well. When we were done filling up that form, I had to say hi to Tony’s and “See you in July!” Fiancé had to laugh at me again. Of course, I am so sentimental about things like that. I know that Tony’s gets mixed reviews here on the DIS, but we have always loved it. I can’t tell you exactly when the tradition started, but it is tradition for us to always eat there our last night of every trip. We always look forward to that meal, but it’s also bittersweet because that means it’s our last night at WDW. The food is always good and we’ve never had a problem with the service. Whenever I read about a bad experience someone had there, I just feel so bad because never have had that.

Okay…back to the trip. We headed back down Main Street and cut through Liberty Square to get to Frontierland. We walked by the tree with the 13 lanterns on our way through. I had known about them before, but we were reminded of them in my “Hidden Secrets” book. It’s amazing the little details that Disney puts into things.

When we made our way through the BTMRR line, I was so excited to be riding again. I was quickly reminded of the GROSS experience we had in line back in June..for those of you who read that TR might remember it. :crazy2: Someone ahead of us puked in line and we all had to walk around it to continue. It was horrible.

As the train pulled into the station, the CM saw our pins and directed us to get in the front row. Darn it. We wanted the very back! Oh well, it was nice of the CM to do that for us and we greatly appreciated it. As we were going up the incline, we could see the Liberty Belle going by and we waved to people riding that and they waved back to us. It’s little things like that that make me enjoy WDW. Unless you’re from the Midwest, I’m guessing it’s not really normal to just randomly wave at someone as you’re going/walking/driving by them. But at WDW, we do that with people all the time. Another example is when we’re on one of the Resort boats and pass another Resort boat, people usually wave from that boat and we wave back.

After our wildest ride in the wilderness, we decided it was time to start walking over to the Contemporary to hang around there a bit before our lunch ADR at The Wave.

~Up next:

Lunch, hanging out, and we turn into rebels at the Contemporary
