Our Magical WDW Adventure ~ 23 Days of Fun, Food, Cocktails... London Trip 2/8

Yayyyyy for your ADRs! We're doing Sci-Fi too (you know that already lol) and can't wait! That picture of your new desitination is so pretty but I have no clue where it is, as usual

I love Sci-Fi, I can't wait to go back. It was the first ever ADR we did I think so it has special memories for us, and is always so much fun. Make sure you get a car, and a forward facing one, as they have some tables at the back too but they don't look half as fun.

Greece!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe... Maybe not :confused3

Haha Vietnam reminds me of the movie Mrs. Doubtfire when he's on the radio at the beginning of the movie and he says "GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD Morning Vietnam!" :lmao:

And here's my comments in pink:
Cape May Cafe ~ Dinner: Yum! This has great food and the resort is beautiful!
Trails End ~ Dinner: Another Yum! This has great food! Go over to FW ahead of time and explore the place. It's so much fun.
Sci Fi Cafe ~ Lunch: Never been there.
Whispering Canyon ~ Dinner: Another Yum! Be ready to be rowdy if you get the right waiter/waitress. WL is a beautiful resort as well so explore! BTW, there's stairs kind of by the entrance to WCC, go up them! There's some couches and a fire place and you can look over the lobby!
Yachtsman Steakhouse ~ Dinner: Never been there, but I can't wait to hear about your experience!
Chef Mickey's ~ Breakfast: I love CM! It's been a long time since I've done breakfast there though.
Artist's Point ~ Dinner: Oh Yum! Let me know how that goes!
Le Cellier ~ Dinner: This was one of my favorites from last year!

And here's my comments in pink:
Cape May Cafe ~ Dinner: Yum! This has great food and the resort is beautiful!I'm glad to hear you liked it here as this was a bit of a last minute choice and we are both a little unsure.
Trails End ~ Dinner: Another Yum! This has great food! Go over to FW ahead of time and explore the place. It's so much fun. We have been to FW before as we did Hoop dee doo last year and really liked the resort. We are looking forward to having a bit more time to look around though, I really want to see where River Country is.
Sci Fi Cafe ~ Lunch: Never been there.I love it there, were so excited.
We went last year for lunch and loved it. The place is gorgeous and the food was so good. I will have to remember to go and find the couches and fireplace.
Yachtsman Steakhouse ~ Dinner: Never been there, but I can't wait to hear about your experience! Its one of my definite favorites, I cannot wait to go back.
Chef Mickey's ~ Breakfast: I love CM! It's been a long time since I've done breakfast there though. We have been for tea before and loved it so are really looking forward to breakfast. We weren't going to do any character meals this time but couldn't resist.
Artist's Point ~ Dinner: Oh Yum! Let me know how that goes!I am really looking forward to this one, I will definitely let you know what its like.
Le Cellier ~ Dinner: This was one of my favorites from last year!Us too, the food was so good and loved the place.

Thanks for your ideas hun, I love to hear others views.

Today was the day I had been waiting for for a long time, today was...

You are so crafty. Would you like to do my mickey flip flops for my bridal party and my welcome bags? And also do mine and Josh's dream vacation list? You're so creative! I'm very jealous!

Yes thats right, today was our 90 day mark, the day we could finally book our ADR's Unfortunately since you can only book ADR's for 10 days, and our first reservation is for 13 days we couldn't book them all, but I was glad just to get some done. I will have to phone up again in about 10 days to book the last few days of our POFQ reservation and then again for our Poly reservation, but I don't mind, it all adds to the excitement :spin:. We managed to get all the reservations we wanted on the time we wanted, or 5 to 10 minutes out which is no problem.

I still can't believe you're going back AGAIN. How amazing! I'm there May 17-27th, so I'm assuming I won't see you?
Here are the ones we have booked so far
Cape May Cafe ~ Dinner
Trails End ~ Dinner
Sci Fi Cafe ~ Lunch
Whispering Canyon ~ Dinner
Yachtsman Steakhouse ~ Dinner
Chef Mickey's ~ Breakfast
Artist's Point ~ Dinner
Le Cellier ~ Dinner

I've never been to Cape May Cafe, Trails End, Artist's Point or the Yachtsman Steakhouse. Can I ask what made you pick AP or the Yachtsman? Josh and I are doing DxDDP and we were thinking the Poly Luau & Hoop Dee Doo Revue, Citrico's, Narcoose's, Jiko and California Grill for our Signature Dining Experiences. Now I've seen so much about YS and AP I'm wondering if I should change (I don't book til Feb 16th).
The Sci Fi Cafe food isn't that great, but it's so much fun! We loved it the whole time, we had a blast with onion rings and milkshakes... It was FUN!
My fiance is obsessed with Whispering Canyon. OBSESSED. He's really upset if for some reason we can't go back (d/t signature diing). I may take him back for lunch or breakfast just so he gets his WCC...
I love Chef Mickey's, it's so much fun and it's so tasty! We've already booked this for May 24th, the morning right before we leave to drive to the keys! I LOVE LE CELLIER. I literally started eating filet mignons in preparation for Le Cellier. I haven't eaten red meat since I was 12 (and I'm 24) but I'm so excited I am gradually working my way up to be able to eat steak here! :cheer2:

Can't wait to see the rest of yours!

Welcome hun, its lovely to have you here

Congratulations on your engagement, are you getting married at Disney?

You are so crafty. Would you like to do my mickey flip flops for my bridal party and my welcome bags? And also do mine and Josh's dream vacation list? You're so creative! I'm very jealous!

I would love to make them for you but think I am a bit far away to come and help . Have you started making them already, or have you any ideas? It looks like so much fun to do. I wish I was more creative but I am one of these people who always have these great ideas in my head but then when it comes to do it for real it never comes out the way I planned. And it doesn't help I am a perfectionist

Hoop dee doo and the Luau are great choices. Both have great food and are very entertaining. Hoop dee doo was probably our favorite dinner show (and we have seen quite a few now), it was just so funny and entertaining. We were a bit scared as we had a table for 2 right at the very front and very center, literally attached to the stage, but it ended up being great.
We picked the Yachtsman as we went there last year and it was one of my definite favorites. All the food was so good, the best steak ever, the margaritas were delicious, the service was impeccable, and it has a really nice, laid back and quiet atmosphere. As for Artists Point we have done a few of the signature restaurants and wanted to try a few new ones so picked Narcoossee's and AP. We had heard that it is probably the quietest and most romantic of Disney restaurants (not inc. Victoria and Alberts), and have heard good reviews on the food. It wasn't one I really though about before but I have heard a few people love it so thought we would give it a go. We loved California Grill (are going back again) and Jiko too last time.
We are very excited about Whispering Canyon as we really enjoyed the skillet last time. Why might you not be able to go back?

Vietnam looks gorgeous, and my aunt's Ngoc Anh (pronounced Nock-Ann) from there! Well she's my mom's aunt, but still. My mom's uncle met her during the Vietnam war, and she came back here with him and they have three kids, who are in their 40's now and have their own kids. They always go back to visit my Aunt Ngoc Anh's family and say it's the most beautiful place in the world :goodvibes

Your ADRs look great, you have so many great places already booked!

Type of holiday ~ Discovering Greek Beaches and Culture

About 5 years ago I watched a film at home with Mum called 'My Family and Other Animal's'. The film was based on the autobiographical book by Gerald Durrell of the same name, and is an account of the families move to Greece and the homes and adventures they had there. Until this point Greece was never really a country I had thought about visiting. We had done so when I was little, and stayed in Corfu (the island where Gerald Durrell lived and the main reason my Mum chose that destination), but I didn't really remember much about it. However the scenery in the film was so beautiful it instantly made me want to go there. Then a few years ago one of my best friends got married and for a while planned to do so in Greece. Nick and I had therefore looked at quite a few brochures and again wanted to go there (unfortunately she only got married over here). Then Mamma Mia came out and from the moment I saw how beautiful it all looked again I was desperate to go there. The beaches look so beautiful and there are so many coves and bays to find and explore. The architecture is so different, the food and drink look yummy, and it would be great to revisit the place I had my first abroad holiday

I would love to make them for you but think I am a bit far away to come and help. Have you started making them already, or have you any ideas? It looks like so much fun to do. I wish I was more creative but I am one of these people who always have these great ideas in my head but then when it comes to do it for real it never comes out the way I planned. No, I got engaged in WDW last May 5th (Josh's first trip). He liked it so much we went back for his 21st birthday. We're getting married in Ohio on May 16th of this year, and our honeymoon is in Disney May 17-24th, than we're going to the Floriday Keys (Key West).

MY fiance's mom already bought welcome bags & bottles of wine she's putting welcome labels on with our future last name. I'm not very crafty, if I'm not motivated to do it... I won't. We went to the rec last night because I'm big on working out. FH tried to teach me how to play racquetball. I couldn't get into chasing after this little blue ball that really hurts if you get hit by it. So I just didn't play. That's kind of how I am with wedding stuff that I just can't get into. I just... don't do it. Our invitations just got ordered yesterday (the wedding's in 109 days). They'll take about 4 weeks to come in. I just had no desire to order them. Oops. Needless to say, not a perfectionist.

I feel like I work way too hard being a perfectionist at my job (I'm a Registered Nurse). I love my play time!

I LOVE attention. SO you mean I won't get tortured if I sit there? Josh and I were going to go to the late show so we could use our 2 TS credits to sit in the first section and get razzed on!!!!!

Is the Poly Luau great? Josh is SO excited.

You might be selling me on Yachtsman. I just sent FH a text asking if he'd rather eat there or at Citrico's or Narcoose's. I'm so excited for Jiko and the dinner shows and the Cali Grill (sushi!) Is artist's point really that great? The food didn't really interest me and I figured if I wanted to hang out at the WL there's always Whispering Canyon. Am I missing something?

We are very excited about Whispering Canyon as we really enjoyed the skillet last time. Why might you not be able to go back?

We are most likely going back for lunch. Josh is bummed but our signature dining experiences are what we're doing for night time... so we have one meal for breakfast (or normally a lunch/brunch). We plan on using snack credits for breakfast, having a lunch at 11AM and then setting our dinner for either 7pm or 10PM based on whether we want to go before/after the firworks.

Your ADRs look great, you have so many great places already booked!

Thats really cool, its always interesting to have family from somewhere else as you get to hear all about it. I would love to have family that lived abroad so I could go and visit them. Somewhere really cool and interesting that you wouldn't think to go else, or somewhere totally tropical like a Polynesian island :goodvibes

Yes we have a lot of ADR's and I still have had to miss of loads we want to do. We need longer

Sounds like a lovely honeymoon, your going to have a great time. Have you been to Disney in May before? We love it as the crowds are low and the weather is great. And how come you chose Key West too?

I LOVE attention. SO you mean I won't get tortured if I sit there? Josh and I were going to go to the late show so we could use our 2 TS credits to sit in the first section and get razzed on!!!!!

Is the Poly Luau great? Josh is SO excited.

They did pick on some people, I think they probably just know who to choose, like who is comfortable with the attention. They did make a few jokes to us a few times which was pretty funny. We went to the late show too and there seemed to be a lot less kids than coming out of the first show. Make sure you get there in plenty of time as they take pictures first and closer to the show the queue was so huge. We walked down to the little beach nearby which was empty, and had a bit of a look around, which was nice.

We went to the Luau on my 21st after spending the day at Discovery Cove and it was a perfect end to the perfect day. The food was so good, and the dancing was great.

California Grill was our other favorite after Yachtsman. The food wasn't quite as good IMO but the setting is amazing, and watching the fireworks from the balcony there is great. I don't know if AP is that good, I will have to find out. The menu isn't the best looking but after hearing good reviews, and the fact we want to try all the signature restaurants it seemed the best choice.

We went to WCC for lunch and it was really good. I am sure he would be happy with it for lunch as I can't imagine it being much different.

Yes we have a lot of ADR's and I still have had to miss of loads we want to do. We need longer

I hate not having enough time for everything :sad2: This coming summer is the shortest trip we've been on in the past few years and I'm having a hard time fitting everything in! What other ADR's are you planning on??

Now Greece is somewhere I've always wanted to go. I did a report on it in the 4th grade about Greece and it's just so BEAUTIFUL!!!

I can't quite remember exactly, our plan should be in here somewhere. I know Tusker House (breakfast), Yak and Yeti (dinner), Teppan Edo (lunch), Ohana (dinner), Kona Cafe (dinner), Narccossee's (dinner), Ohana (breakfast), California Grill (dinner). Probably a few others too, I am so excited :cheer2:

The scenery in Mamma Mia is absolutely breathtaking, I would love to visit where that is set. And where we stayed was a beautiful island and we used to catch a little rowing boat over to a little island for dinner, it was so different and so nice. I can't really remember much else though as I was only 3. I hope you get to go one day soon :thumbsup2

Wow, I have just caught up on everything!!!!

DH and I want to go to Atlantis but some people that we have talked to said that it isn't worth the price...but I still want to go. It looks awesome!

We actually went to Croatia this summer for part of our honeymoon. It was SO beautiful and there weren't that many people there. We went sea-kayaking one morning and the water was just gorgeous!!! We were in Dubrovnik and wanted to stay longer!!! I really hope that you get there some day!!!

We went skiing this weekend and have been talking more about going out West to the Rockies for some proper skiing. Now I REALLY want to go to Whistler since I have been to quite a few of the resorts in the US.

Glad that you got most of your ADR's out of the way!!! :thumbsup2

Thanks hun. Sounds like you had a great time skiing, I am jealous you get to go lots. You should definitely try Whistler and take lots of pictures for me so I can see what it looks like :goodvibes

I am so jealous you went to Croatia, sounds like it was great. And the sea-kayaking sounds like lots of fun. Where else did you go on your honeymoon?

Such beautiful pics of Greece. I want to go there so badly! Actually, that is how exDH and I started talking. We were with a group of people and I mentioned something about the Greek islands and struck up a conversation about being 'travel buddies' HAHA!

Disney Dining...

...Directly to your Door

Since we were getting close to booking our ADR's and our minds were clearly on Disney and American food, we decided to make some of our favorite meals at home. In the last week we have recreated some really tasty meals, obviously not as good as the originals, but pretty good.

On Wednesday we had Boatwrights Pot Roast

We went to Boatwright's on our first night at Disney in 2006 as we were staying at Port Orlean's Riverside and it was easy after a 9 hour flight. We were very glad we did as apart from being very tired and slightly jet-lagged we really enjoyed our food. Mum and I had pot-roast for the first time and it was really good.

Unfortunately since we were so tired I didn't take any pictures inside the restaurant but here is one from Sophie's birthday when we had breakfast there

On Friday we had Tequila Chicken from...
Bb_logo.jpg

We have been to Bahama Breeze a few times, both in Orlando and Miami, and my favorite dish is definitely Tequila chicken with sweet potato mash, it is so good.

Yesterday after we booked our ADR's we decided to have one of my favorite meals ever, fajita's, just like the delicious ones we have from...

We plan to make some more of our favorite meals over the next 3 months, as not only does it help make us even more excited about our up-coming trip (if thats possible), but it also helps pass the time a bit, having something else to plan and think about. At the moment these are some of the things we plan to try before we go

Cheddar Cheese Soup ~ Le Cellier
Maple Creme Brulee ~ Le Cellier
Asian Noodle Bowl ~ Captain Cooks, Polynesian
Tonga Toast ~ Kona Cafe, Polynesian

I would love to hear any other suggestions of nice Disney food we can try and make :goodvibes

Oooh, Greece would be so cool to visit. Have you seen/heard of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants books/movies? There are some brief scenes in the movies that were shot in Greece...it looks so beautiful! I hear the same about Mama Mia.

That is a funny way to meet, and definitely a bit different. A shame you never got to go, but I am sure you will get there one day. I bet it would be a great place to take your kids, I know we loved it when we were little.

I have heard of it but never seen it, I will have to check it out. You should watch Mamma Mia, its great. And the scenery is breathtaking, so, so beautiful :goodvibes
