Cast of Characters: Bonnie (me!) 43, obsessive trip planner
Shane (DH) 45, just rolls with my trip plans!
Shayna (DD) 18, obsessed with all things Disney. Going to university in the fall
Ben (DS) 15, who states that if he has to hug Mickey one more time, he’s going to scream, but I think enjoys himself more than he cares to admit!
Jarrett (DS) 13, who doesn’t really care where we go as long as he isn’t in school!

Day 2:

Today was our Cocoa Beach day. Even though we were staying at POR for six nights, we were only doing 3 park days this trip.

Headed out in good time and enjoyed a beautiful drive to the coast. Saw one of the Disney cruise ships in the port which was fun to see!

Went to Cocoa Beach two years ago, and I can honestly say that we probably won’t go back again. Weather was great, but the water wasn’t at all inviting. None of us even went in and that’s a first! Next time we would probably just hang around the pool at the resort. My DD was out to get a new bathing suit, but surprise, surprise, out of hundreds of suits, nothing was as nice as the one at DTD! She didn’t even try one on! Looks like she’s getting the $100 US bathing suit for her birthday! :bday: Had some pizza at the beach and headed back to POR in good time.

Once everyone was showered and changed, we headed back to DTD. Really wanted to try Earl of Sandwich this trip and luckily, the line wasn’t too bad. Actually, I found that during the entire trip, it seemed our timing was good for everything! It’s that Disney magic again!

I have to say that eating at Earl of Sandwich was the surprise hit of the trip! It is the secret hidden gem at Disney. Affordable ($4.95) sandwiches that are tasty and filling! Loved it!
Rating overall: A++

DD got her bathing suit of course. DH almost passed out when he found out what it cost! He honestly thought a bathing suit would be about $25! It’s a good thing he rolls with that kind of thing and just said “Happy Birthday honey!” and let it go…gotta love him! J

my husband is amazed at the less material in a suit the more expensive it is.....Happy Birthday to your daughter........I have heard so many great things about the Earl Of Sandwich......tried to get in the door in December and they were SOOOOOOOO crowded.....will try it on the next trip
Thanks again for your report

Great Trip report, thank you.
We love the Earl of Sandwich. The first time we went, we split the "Original" after that, it was "sorry, get your own sandwich; these are too good to share!" :goodvibes We go there at least twice if we can now.

Can I ask you how long it took to drive to Cocoa Beach? I was thinking of doing a day trip there, but since you said you didn't go in the water; I may not. I want to find nice white sand in clear water, but not too far from Disney since I have to do all the driving. My DS (16) doesn't drive yet.
Thank you!!

It took pretty much an hour to drive to Cocoa Beach. If you want a beach day, it will fit the bill, but we didn't enjoy it as much as we did the first time we went. Depending on when you go, the water is really cold. Next time, we would just do a day at the resort pool or enjoy an entire day at Typhoon Lagoon!
