:rotfl:

I'm Lovin' It! What is this a McDonald's commercial or a trip report about getting engaged at Disney World:lmao: , which by the way is soooo romantic. I only hope you can manage to get married there, and by the way I want to be invited cuz I need another trip to Disney World for my Do-Over Do-Over!
I hope I can married there too!! We started with my parents about it...they arent thrilled but they arent saying no, so its a good sign!! :thumbsup2

Oh yes! We can have a whole row of Stalking DISers at her Disney wedding....definitely a good excuse to go back! I'll be watching my mail for my invitation.
:rotfl2: That would be awesome! You guys could all have your own table and then I could hire you guys as tour guides to take around my family who know absolutely NOTHING about Disney! Any of you speak Italian? :rotfl2:

Yup I am still here and waiting for the next installment - don't worry, I'll keep schtum about the story ;) Can't wait for more!

Day 3, Part 1: MGM – Disney World, We Have Arrived!

June 17, 2007

A good night’s rest is just what my tired body needed and by 8:30 AM I was refreshed and ready for the day ahead! There is just something about that first day of vacation at Disney. I never have any problem getting up for the first day or any day for that matter when Disney is involved. DF is another story...he needs to slowly wake up while I can just spring out of bed, especially on the first day and this day was no exception.

I ran down to the kitchen to grab my delcious ice cold Frapuccino, this would become ritual every morning and started getting ready for the day ahead.

We had a lot to look forward to on our first Disney day. Today would be MGM, which meant 2 of Disney’s greatest thrill rides: Tower of Terror (TOT) and Rock n Rollercoaster (RnR), not to mention Fantasmic!, which is always one of our favorites! It was also Star Wars weekends & Father’s Day, so we figured it was going to be crowded.

We decided that we would take this day easy and just arrive at MGM when everyone had a good night’s sleep and felt ready enough to tackle a park. Surprisingly everyone, except Jeff, who decided to sit MGM out today, was awake by 9:30 and we arrived at MGM by about 11:00, much earlier than expected.

Why did they make the entrance to MGM off to the side of the Disney World arches? It seems so silly to me and I really wanted to drive through them, but I have to say that I got over it pretty quickly. We parked the car, hopped our first tram ride, and made our way to the turnstiles. During the entire process I was poking DBF once again.

Me: MGM exit to the right! *poke*

DBF: I see that. Please don’t poke me while I am driving

Me: Can you believe we are finally here? *poke*

DBF: *smile and nods*

Me: Look you can see ToT! *poke*

DBF: *smiles and nods*

The entire walk to the tram proceeded with me poking him.

Me: We are here! We are here! Disney World!!! *poke* *poke* *poke*

Yes, I am like a 4 year old child when it comes to Disney, but isn’t that what makes Disney so great? That whether you are 12, 22, 32, 42, or 82 you can act like a 4 year old and no one thinks anything of it.

I was literally skipping all the way to the entrance. I asked DBF to skip with me, but he refused, so I skipped alone, dragging DBF with me.

Since some of us had bags and some of us didn’t, we decided to all meet once we entered the park so DBF could collect passes and we could run to get fast passes to ToT or RnR. For some reason, I had a bag, and I somehow got through before everyone else, I guess it is because I have an eye for finding the short lines. So DBF and I waited...and waited...and waited some more. You will find this to be a theme of the vacation. So what is the only thing to do while you are waiting?

TAKE PICTURES!

IMG_1343.jpg
My first official Disney World 2007 photo!

IMG_1344.jpg
Of course I made DBF take one too.

A really nice CM saw us trying to take a picture of ourselves, something we are used to, and offered to take it for us. It turned out really nice, so thank you to nice MGM CM!

IMG_1346.jpg

So we continued to wait. I don’t even know where the rest of our group was, I think Matthew wanted a hat so they were waiting in line for that. They weren’t even through the gates yet and already buying souvenirs. :rotfl2: So I started to scan my surroundings, mainly for other DISers, LGMHs, and the dream team, and that is when I saw it and my stomach dropped worse than when riding ToT...

IMG_1345.jpg

I quickly called DBF over to show him the horror! One of our favorite rides was not in operation today. He didn’t seem too worried, he never is. That is why we are great together. I see something like that and I have a complete freak out moment, DF, who is the rational one stays calm and comes up with an alternate plan.

Me: How could this be? Why is it closed? They cannot close that ride on Father’s Day & Star Wars weekends. The crowds are going to be so much worse! I love that ride! I hope they open it, do you think they will open it?? *poke*

DBF: We have park hoppers, we will just come back on the Animal Kingdom day since it closes early.

Me: Oh, good point. Can have your camera, I need to take a picture of the sign saying it is closed.

DBF: Why do you need a picture of the sign?

Me: For the Trip Report, I must show that it was closed!

DBF: *Rolls Eyes, and hands me the camera*

So after about what felt like 6 hours of waiting, the rest of our crew met up with us. In complete commando mode we dictate that they each give us their passes so we can FastPass ToT and to meet us at Beauty and the Beast show because there would be a show at 12:00. They all agree and DBF and I were off towards ToT. We were surprised to find that it wasn’t too crowded, I mean there were a lot of people, but we were expecting much worse since it was a Holiday and a special event. We were also surprised that it wasn’t as hot as expected. We always travel in mid-July when it is very hot and humid. But we found that during this June trip it wasn’t nearly as humid as July, it was still hot especially in the sun, but the lack of humidity made it bearable to breathe.

We arrive at ToT, get our FP’s which I think were for somewhere between 1:15 and 2:15 and make our way back to the Beauty and Beast theater. It was about 11:45 and we were hoping that the rest of our group was already there waiting.

Of course, they weren’t, so we waited.

Luckily, we found our first Photopass photographer in the vicinity so we posed for our first Photopass picture.

DisneyPhotoImage109.jpg

DisneyPhotoImage108.jpg

We thanked Mr. ToT Photopass man and checked to see if our group had arrived, surely they had to been there by now, it was about 11:50, 10 minutes till show time. They couldn’t have gotten lost, they do know how to maneuver MGM. We wait for a few more minutes when DBF asks me to go check inside the theater and see if they are in there.

Let me tell you, finding someone in that theater is impossible. Everyone looks the same and it was so crowded, nearly all the seats seemed to be filled. I scanned the place a good 10 times but couldn’t find them.

I come back to DBF and tell him it is impossible to find anyone. He decides to run back toward to entrance and check the shops because he figured they probably got sucked into one of them.

He returns a few minutes later with no members of our party and is starting to look pretty angry, after all we had planned the entire day and it was already getting ruined. We decide to forget about finding them and just go inside to enjoy the show because the show was starting and we missed it in 2005. We walk in and DBF finds his family instantly, they had seats in the bottom left corner and were waving us down.

DBF and I looked at each other and laughed, turns out they did follow our directions, they just didn’t wait outside the theater. We get our seats which were pretty good and tell our crew that next time we tell them to meet us somewhere that they wait outside! Poor DBF was sweating from running to the entrance and back. All that running for nothing, I guess I need better eyes, but I promise it was hard to find anyone in that theater. We literally took our seats and the show began. In fact, I am going to say that they werent even there when I looked...

I just love the B&B show, even though is a little different than the movie it still is a great show to see. I love all the costumes and all the songs, I was singing along in my head the entire show.

IMG_1355.jpg

After the spell is broken and Beast turns back into a prince we decide to take a bathroom break before ToT. Matthew, who went on ToT when we was 3 years old, decided he didn’t want to try it out this time, and since Jeanne isn’t a big fan of it they decided to split off and meet us in the store which is in the Big Blue Mickey Hat. Since they split off from us we had 2 extra Fast Passes.

With our FPs we walked right onto ToT that I didn’t even have time to brace myself for the thrills that come with that ride. We ended up sitting in the front row, which I had never done before, and it is even creepier than any other row.

I completely love and hate ToT! I love the theming of the entire ride, but I hate that moment when you know you are going to drop. They dropped us so many times this time. I don’t even know how many, but I know it was many more than previous visits. I kept thinking it was over, but it just kept going! Finally, we made our way back and when the elevators opened the creepy CM’s head was right there in front of me, since we were front row, as he said “Welcome Back” in his creepiest voice. Of course, I am the one to scream out loud at that which made our entire elevator laugh.

As I stood up to exit the car, my legs were shaking from being so scared, but I was laughing. I wish we would have bought the picture, it was pretty entertaining since I was holding on to DBF for dear life. We took a peak around the gift shop and DBF asked me if I wanted to go again. I was still all shaky from the first round so I offer the FP to Janna since Karen, like me, was not up for it again just yet. Karen and I looked around the store a little more and then decided take a seat on a bench outside the gift shop.

Justin and Janna return shortly and we decide to make our way toward the Mickey Hat to meet up with Jeanne and Matthew. On our way, we introduce the Photopass concept to Karen and Janna since they never heard of it before and we run into Mr. ToT Photopass Man again, who is confused as to why we want our picture taken again. We tell him we have more in our group and want our picture, thank you very much.

DisneyPhotoImage104.jpg

DisneyPhotoImage103.jpg

We thank Mr. ToT Photopass Man for the second time and continue on our way. I think at this point Janna and Karen needed a bathroom break so we told them we would meet them at the Hat. DBF and I decided to stop for some McDonalds fries because we were getting kind of hungry. I guess the shaking legs weren’t just from ToT, they came from hunger too.

Yes, we go to Disney World and the first thing we eat is McDonalds fries, of course we can get McDonalds fries anywhere, but when you are desperate and hungry and your ADR isn’t for another 3 hours, you get the fries, and you like the fries.

On our way to the Hat we find another Photopass man and decide we need a picture in front of the Hat. It is not my favorite Disney landmark, but a landmark it is, therefore a picture is necessary.

DisneyPhotoImage107.jpg
See the fries in my hand?

DisneyPhotoImage106.jpg

We arrive at the Hat and see that no one is there yet, man his family is slow. We decide to check the wait time for the Great Movie Ride, it was about 40 minutes and we were not in the mood to wait in that, we figured the line would die down later.

Our group is finally back together and it was time to decide what to do next. We had two choices, wait in line for Voyage of the Little Mermaid or FP it or watch Playhouse Disney. I don’t even know why we chose Playhouse Disney, but Jeanne & Matthew wanted to see it. This decision sort of messed up the flow for the rest of our day...more on that later though.

We had some time to kill before Playhouse Disney began so we looked around the shops in the Animation Courtyard area. I love the art store outside of the Magic of Disney Animation building. All the artwork and collectibles are wonderful and I know if I had the money, I could spend a small fortune inside there.

I really felt this part of the day was such a waste of time because we weren’t doing anything but waiting for Playhouse Disney. We finally stood in line for it and they opened the doors.

IMG_1357.jpg

I did not like this attraction one bit! I mean it was cute for toddlers and pre-school aged children, and I think it sent a good message about self-esteem and friendship and as a future teacher, I think those are very good messages to send young kids, but I was pretty much bored and annoyed throughout the entire show. I did not like sitting on the floor, and neither did DBF, he decided he was going to lay down before the show began because sitting Indian style is not an easy task for him.

IMG_1356.jpg

During the part of the show where the kids are asked to come to the front of the theater, some kid stepped on my hand, and it really hurt! That alone was enough to make me hate this show.

I do think it is a good attraction for people with young children and now that I think about it, it was kind of cute seeing all the kids dance and join in the fun.

But the girl who hosts the show, I think her name is Jamie, was way too enthusiastic and happy for my taste. I know Disney is the happiest place on earth, but this girl was way too over the top. Needless to say, the girl needed a tranquilizer.

After Playhouse Disney Jeanne & Matthew split off from us again because Jeanne wanted to see the parade. We really do not do parades unless it is SpectroMagic. We told Jeanne to meet us for 5:10 ADR at Hollywood & Vine. So the rest of us decided to skip Voyage of the Little Mermaid for now and come back to it after dinner because there was still a long line.

We quickly checked the line for the Great Movie Ride, but it was still too long for our liking. I checked the times guide and saw there was a showing of Lights, Motor, Action! At 2:45, it was 2:40 at the time. So what did we do?

We hauled our butts to the back of the park, in hopes to catch the show. We speed walked all the way, I think DBF and I may have broke into a jog at one point. It was during our marathon that we finally saw some Star Wars characters, I think we found Darth Vader, and he one mighty long line. I told DBF that later if we have time we should try and get some pictures with the characters. He agreed and we continued to make our way to Lights, Motor, Action.

The show had already started when we made it there, but good thing when we arrived they were still letting people in, but we had to sit at almost the very top of the theater and we had a giant pole in our view, but it wasn’t too bad, you could still see what was going on just fine.

IMG_1361.jpg
You can kind of see the pole to the left.

This show always amazes me and I love seeing how they do stunts in the movies. I am glad we were able to catch most of the show, but I did not like running half way across the park to see it.

We all decided that after the show we needed to take a breather, so we found some seats at the Studio Catering Company food court. We weren’t getting any food since our ADR was coming up at 5:10, but we just needed to sit and relax. I then remembered that in 2005 they had some great smoothies around the area. DBF remembered what I was talking about for once so we decided to try and find it. I think they had moved it because I remember it being by the bathroom, but now there was a place selling film. By this time it seemed the crowd had really thickened and the sun was starting to really beat down, not to mention we were so tired from running to Lights, Motor, Action. When we couldn’t find the smoothie place, DBF started to get cranky, I think it was becoming close to his usual after work nap time. Sorry DBF, this is Disney, no work here, no naps here.

We made our way back to our table, which Karen was holding while Janna went off to find a snack. When we made it back to our table we saw a family next to us with the smoothies. We asked where they got them and they pointed us in the right direction, turns out we were near it the entire time. The sun was definitely getting to our heads.

We stood in line for awhile to get our Fanta Strawberry frozen treat, but it was worth it. It was refreshing and it was just what I needed to wake me up and re-energize me. This reminded me to tell DBF that we had to try a Dole Whip when we got to Magic Kingdom, I don’t even thing he cared at this point, he was that cranky, yikes! I guess the Fanta Strawberry didn’t have the same effect on him as it did on me.

It was almost 4:00 and we knew there was a Indiana Jones Stunt Show time at 4:00, it would be cutting it close, but we thought we could get lucky like we did for Lights, Motor, Action! So we casually walked to the Indiana Jones show only to find that they weren’t letting people in anymore, it was 4:00 on the dot! The CM informed us that they were only letting people in who had a FastPass.

This was the last showing for Indiana Jones we could have seen because the next one was during our ADR. So for the 2nd year in the row, we missed Indiana Jones. It is not the worse thing in the world though, because we had each seen it multiple times and it never changes, but still, I was looking forward to seeing it again.

DBF and I could see that the day was not going as smoothly as planned. We decided Playhouse Disney was the culprit because we wasted so much time waiting for it to begin. We also remembered RnR was closed down and that kind of messed up our itinerary too. Karen and Janna were looking at us with the look that say, “ok boss, what do we do next” so DBF and I decided that we would wait in line for the Great Movie Ride since it was nearby to our ADR.

The line had died down for GMR too and I think we only waited 20 minutes. But can someone tell me why that darned Chinese Theater is not air conditioned? It was HOT in there! I do not remember it ever being that hot. By this time, DBF was mighty cranky since he was tired and now hungry.

We got on the GMR and it was the same as always, but fun as usual. I always remember the Alien part of the ride as being much scarier. Did they tone that down or am I becoming more brave? I always remember the Alien coming down from the ceiling, but I could have swore that didn’t happen this time.

When the ride was over, I noticed DBF had been sleeping, he finally got his midday nap in. I was kind of disappointed that he took a nap on a Disney ride, that is sort of against the law in my book, and I am sure all you DISers are disappointed in him.

I guess his nap helped though because he was not nearly as cranky, now he was just hungry. Lucky for him it was about 5:00 PM and our ADR was at 5:10, we decided to head over to Hollywood and Vine and see if we could check in early.

...continued in next post...

Day 3, Part 2

We made to Hollywood and Vine to find that Jeanne & Matthew were already there waiting for us and she had actually checked in even though our entire group wasn’t there yet. I guess the friendly CM said we could check only if our entire party was with her. Jeanne told her they were not here yet, but would be arriving shortly. The CM then said again that we could check in only if the entire party was with her and asked her if they were indeed all present. The CM gave her a little wink and Jeanne finally understood what the CM was doing. So Jeanne lied, like the CM wanted, and said the entire party was with her. And with that were checked in and we waited for our name to be called.

There were no seats so we decided to find a nice piece of curb as we waited. It is times like these that the best thing to do is people watch, so people watch we did. And oh my there were some questionable clothing choices. Why do people insist on wearing clothing that is too small for their bodies? When this one woman walked by she was not only wearing a shirt that was way to small for her, she rolled it up so that her entire middrift was exposed, trust me when I say that it was not necessary. When she walked by DBF and I both looked at each other and did not say a word, we knew what the other was thinking.

We continued people watching as if it were a sport and saw bad parenting, good parenting, and some in between parenting, we saw siblings fighting, hitting, and hugging. One boy, probably about 5 years old, walked by with a light saber and decided he was going to “pretend” kill me with it. Parents, please tell your children that it is not okay to go after strangers with light sabers. Sadly, this would not be the only time a strange young boy tried to kill me with a plastic toy that day.

After my near death experience we continued to wait. And wait. And wait. My stomach was starting to get the grumbles after all the only thing we ate that day were the McDonalds fries. And finally, our name was called and we were seated near a window, where I could continue my people watching.

Our server came by and wished us a Happy Father’s Day. We all laughed because DBF was the only adult male at the table, and he is obviously not a father, unless he isn’t telling me something, which then we would have quite a little problem. We explained to the waiter that there were no fathers here, but told him that we would tell Ken he said so, since he was coming later that week. He took our drink orders and he returned with our drinks, the server did the oddest thing. He handed Matthew and myself a coloring page. Apparently I look like a child, thanks a lot H&V server. It didn’t stop me from coloring it in though.

TR010.jpg

We went up to get our food since Hollywood & Vine is buffet style. I like to try a little of everything when we go to buffets and that is how I get full. I scanned over my choices and saw they had a yummy looking seafood alfredo pasta. I also got pork loin with BBQ onions, the vegetarian pasta, garlic mashed potatoes, and I sneaked away some corn from the kid’s area. DBF had similar things except the pastas and he got prime rib.

Sorry no food picture but I thought that the seafood pasta was excellent, it had the biggest pieces of crab meat in it, I believe I got second helpings of it. I thought the vegetarian pasta was okay, nothing to rave about though. I wish I could say better things about the pork loin, but I thought it was too tough to chew. I think I only took a bite of it before shooing it off onto DBF’s plate. The mashed potatoes were delicious though and so was the children’s corn. I went back for some salad with buttermilk ranch dressing, which was so yummy. I loved that dressing, but couldn’t find it anywhere else on the trip! DBF and I also shared a melon salad, but I didn’t think the melon was ripe enough, and I think DBF got chocolate ice cream for dessert, of which I of course took a bite.

We eat at Hollywood & Vine for the Fantasmic! Dinner package, but I now know we can get the package at other MGM restaurants and I would love to try some of their other places as well. Overall the food at H&V is good, but it isn’t something I just need to have, unless of course we talking that ranch dressing, now that was some good stuff!

We waited for our server to bring us the bill and after we paid and were getting ready to leave he thanks us for coming and wishes us a Happy Father’s Day again. I guess he didn’t remember that none of us were fathers, but oh well, he was obviously confused if he thought I was a child. I should’ve paid the child’s price for my meal then.

IMG_1364.jpg
During dinner at H&V.

DBF and I told the troops what was on the agenda for the rest of the night. We decided we would go FP Star Tours and meet them at VOT Little Mermaid. We walked by the building where Jedi Mickey was having a meet n greet, but the line was out the door. I guess I wasn’t going to meet Jedi Mickey today.

We got the Star Tours FP’s and returned to the entrance of VOTLM. Karen and Janna were already in line so we joined them and found that Jeanne and Matthew had split off again. They were going to meet us at Muppet Vision 3-D after VOTLM.

I just love VOTLM! I hope they do not take it away, I always feel like I am under the sea when I see this show. Like Beauty and the Beast, I sing along to the songs in my head and never get tired of seeing it. The Ariel for this show was great, it really looked like her, and the Prince Eric was good too, even though he only has like 1 line. This is definitely one of my favorite things when we go to MGM.

After taking the dip into the ocean we found our way to Muppet Vision 3-D and met up with Jeanne & Mathhew again. There was barely anyone in the queue area for Muppets so it was pretty empty.

IMG_1365.jpg
Getting ready for showtime!

This Muppet show is so old and obviously the effects are no where as good as some of Disney’s other 3-D shows like Philharmagic and It’s Tough to be a Bug, but I still love those Muppets every time. I always thought it would be interesting if they re-did the show and revamped the theater to be like some of the newer Disney 3-D shows that it would draw more people in. I was sort of sad to see the theater so empty, I just think people are getting bored with it. :sad2:

After Muppets we went to Star Tours, but I didn’t ride. That ride makes me queasy, most simulators do and I was still feeling full from dinner, I didn’t feel like feeling sick the rest of the night. While everyone else rode I shopped at Tatooine Traders and decided to buy DBF part of his anniversary gift.

IMG_1396.jpg

He loves Mickey so a Jedi Mickey seemed perfect. I stuffed the Jedi Mickey in my purse so that he wouldn’t know that I bought it and so I could surprise him on our anniversary. I looked around the store a little longer and then decided to go and sit while I waited for them. As I was waiting the cutest little girl came up to me and showed me her brand new light saber key chain, she was all excited about it. I told her it was beautiful and her mother apologized incase she was bothering me. I told her not to worry about it and that there was no way she was bothering me. At least this kid didn’t try and kill me. :rotfl2:

I was kind of sad that we didn’t get to do the Backlot Tour, there was not enough time because we had to start heading over to Fantasmic! And it is such a long ride/attraction. I like that one though because you get to see more behind the scenes stuff. But overall, for arriving as late as we did to MGM, I still thought we accomplished a lot, but I could have still done without Playhouse Disney. And we still had 2 more things to look forward to. The first was Fantasmic! and the second was Tower of Terror again. We decided that after Fantasmic! we would go on over to ToT and wait in line for it because I had never ridden it in the dark.

After about 25 minutes the group returned and we were all ready to get over to Fantasmic! DBF told me he took pictures of the queue inside Star Tours, here is one of the pictures he took.

IMG_1368.jpg

As we were walking to Fantasmic! this boy comes out of no where tries to kill me with a plastic toy again, this time the weapon of choice was a pirate sword. He made some “Hi-Ya” noise and said “gotcha!” I think they need to stop that Jedi Training Academy because all the little boys that day were in violent-mode. All day I saw them whipping around swords and light sabers and attacking their little sisters, and apparently strangers.

I survived my second near death experience when we realized we didn’t have a group picture for the day. Luckily we were near the Hat when we found a Photopass guy, and it was even luckier that we had all of us in our group.

DisneyPhotoImage97.jpg
Twilight Hat Picture!

We made it to our secret Fantasmic! entrance right on time and handed them our dinner package pass. DBF, Matthew, and I walked the 600 mile long walk to the theater. Along the way we decided to have some fun and tried to convince Matthew that you can actually get a room in the Tower of Terror. I think deep down he believed us and was now scared that for the next trip we would be staying there. :rotfl:

We got our Fantasmic seats and ordered some Italian Ices and waters to enjoy during the show. When I got my wallet out of my purse to pay for the Italian I remembered I had Jedi Mickey in there and I didn’t want DBF to see. He noticed I was sort of hiding something and asked me what I bought...I was busted. I still told him nothing, but he insisted he knew I bought something, so much for trying to surprise him! I still didn’t show him though.

DBF and I were talking about riding ToT after Fantasmic! and we overheard the most interesting conversation from the family behind us. Yes, we were eavesdropping, but this was the best eavesdropping ever because we heard the family talk about how they were going to ride ROCK N ROLLERCOASTER after Fantasmic! The father had said that he heard they had re-opened it recently. THANK YOU RANDOM FANTASMIC FAMILY!

DBF and I took our newly acquired information and quietly relayed the information to the rest of the troops. You would have thought we were CIA operatives they way we were whispering. We didn’t want everyone to know that it had opened because we wanted to ride it! So now after Fantasmic! we would be riding RnR instead of ToT, except only Janna would be joining DBF and I since Matthew, Jeanne, and Karen don’t like it.

The show then started and I just love everything about it! I love how they project the images onto the water and I love all the characters and of course, Sorcerer Mickey! Once it was over, DBF, Janna, and I were literally running to get away from the mob of people. We were walking on the grass, dodging children and strollers. We must have made it out of Fantasmic! to RnR in record time we were that fast. We told Karen, Jeanne, and Matthew that we would meet them once we were finished on Sunset Boulevard.

I was so happy once I saw the gates for RnR opened, they had been closed all day! The line wasn’t too bad either, I think we only waited about 15 - 20 minutes. Our stretch limo finally arrived and I got all strapped in, making sure my harness was safe multiple times. I was sure to keep my head on the headrest when it launches you, which is by far the best part of the entire ride and I love that they take your picture in the beginning. Again, I wish I would have bought it because it was that funny. I looked like I was crying but I was really laughing/screaming. I was so happy that we got to ride it, it was definitely my favorite part of the entire day because I thought we weren’t going to be able to get on it. When we left we noticed the line was much longer than when we waited in it. I guess the word spread that it opened.

In minutes we had found Karen sitting on a bench, MGM had pretty much cleared out since it was after closing. We walked around some of the shops and finally dragged our feet back to the tram, and then to the car. I said goodbye to MGM since we would not be returning, but I was content with all we had accomplished on our first Disney day.

When we arrived home we sent Jeff to get us some Taco Bell since it was really close to our house and we were starving. I got a chicken and cheese quesadilla, which would be the first of many on this trip. It just seemed that every time we came home from a long Disney day, we were starving. I guess that is where the term “fourth meal” comes in. DBF and I decided to swim before Jeff got back with our food. We enjoyed the refreshing pool for a while and then ate our Taco Bell along side the pool.

I took my shower and got cozy in my pajamas. I then showed DBF what I had bought him at MGM and took out Jedi Mickey. He pretty much knew I bought him something from the Star Wars store since it was the only time we were apart the whole day, well except for bathroom breaks and I hope I wouldn't get him something from there. He still liked his new Jedi friend and we introduced him to Stripes who is our first child who decided to join us on this trip.

Meet Stripes.

Apparently Stripes and Jedi Mickey do not get along because every night when we would come home the scene on our bed would pretty much look like this...
IMG_1394.jpg

It reminded me of Toy Story, who knows maybe Disney was on to something that toys come alive when no one is looking...

And yes, we are very strange people. We take pictures of our stuffed animals while on vacation.

Anyways, I did my nightly Trip Report card and recalled that the most magical moment of the day was when we walked through those turnstiles. I couldn’t believe our first Disney day was over, but we had a lot to still look forward to. Tomorrow would be our first time at Blizzard Beach & Chef Mickey’s. Once again I was asleep before my head even hit the pillow knowing we would have to get up early if we wanted to actually get into Blizzard Beach this year.

Up Next: Blizzard Beach & Chef Mickey’s for the first time! find it on page 6, #88!

:rotfl2: That would be awesome! You guys could all have your own table and then I could hire you guys as tour guides to take around my family who know absolutely NOTHING about Disney! Any of you speak Italian? :rotfl2:
I don't speak it. DH is Italian though. Does that count? Oh, and I don't want to have to work for my invitation! :lmao:

Day 3, Part 1: MGM – Disney World, We Have Arrived!

June 17, 2007

Me: MGM exit to the right! *poke*

DBF: I see that. Please don’t poke me while I am driving

Me: Can you believe we are finally here? *poke*

DBF: *smile and nods*

Me: Look you can see ToT! *poke*

DBF: *smiles and nods*
You would drive me nutso with the poking! :guilty:
I completely love and hate ToT! I love the theming of the entire ride, but I hate that moment when you know you are going to drop. They dropped us so many times this time. I don’t even know how many, but I know it was many more than previous visits. I kept thinking it was over, but it just kept going! Finally, we made our way back and when the elevators opened the creepy CM’s head was right there in front of me, since we were front row, as he said “Welcome Back” in his creepiest voice. Of course, I am the one to scream out loud at that which made our entire elevator laugh.
I love the ToT! Love it, love it, LOVE IT!!

I did not like this attraction one bit! I mean it was cute for toddlers and pre-school aged children, and I think it sent a good message about self-esteem and friendship and as a future teacher, I think those are very good messages to send young kids, but I was pretty much bored and annoyed throughout the entire show.
It is a most excellent show for families with toddlers. I am surprised that you went in....

But the girl who hosts the show, I think her name is Jamie, was way too enthusiastic and happy for my taste. I know Disney is the happiest place on earth, but this girl was way too over the top. Needless to say, the girl needed a tranquilizer.
Back in 2003 the girl's name was Jamie too. They are probably all Jamie...:confused3

When the ride was over, I noticed DBF had been sleeping, he finally got his midday nap in. I was kind of disappointed that he took a nap on a Disney ride, that is sort of against the law in my book, and I am sure all you DISers are disappointed in him.
I say if he can nap and feel better, go ahead. Cranky is not fun!

Yay! Another tr to read.popcorn::

Congrats on the engagement.:cool1:

I was engaged at WDW too back in 1995 after a day at Blizzard Beach. We are celebrating our 11th in a couple of weeks.

:rotfl2: That would be awesome! You guys could all have your own table and then I could hire you guys as tour guides to take around my family who know absolutely NOTHING about Disney! Any of you speak Italian? :rotfl2:

I do, sort of....Ciao? Pasta Fasul, cappicola, ravioli:rotfl:

Jamie is every CM's name at Playhouse Disney. We were there last year twice. ! male CM and 1 female CM and they were both named Jamie...................LOL

I could just feel the excitment of your first day in Disney and the poking was cracking me up...:rotfl2: I've never been to MGM so I loved all of your details! Great pics too!...you really fit a lot in in one day :yay:
I can't believe that the waiter did that...he was definately confused :confused3 You look young but you are clearly not a kid
I bet it was nice to be able to go back to a house instead of a room. If I ever go back..... :cloud9: I'd love to try a DVC place with a kitchen.
Oh and one more thing...you said it wasn't humid?? Was it just that day or did you think that the whole week???

Great report...my DD was very disappointed she could not ride the RnRc because of her height.

Congrats on your engagement...keep the pics coming!

Sorry that you sat through Playhouse Disney- you certainly are not their target audience... but someday:) Glad RRC opened.... that would have been a bummer! Great pictures!

Great update. Too bad you didn't have fun at Playhouse Disney (I think I would be kind of bored if I didn't have Dart!), but I'm glad you got to ride Rock n' Roller in the end!

And I don't think you're weird to take pictures of stuffed animals. I take tons of pictures of my doll. :thumbsup2

Can't wait to hear about Chef Mickey's!

I don't speak it. DH is Italian though. Does that count? Oh, and I don't want to have to work for my invitation! :lmao:
Oh alright....:lmao:
You would drive me nutso with the poking! :guilty:
I drive DF nutso with it too!
I love the ToT! Love it, love it, LOVE IT!!
Like I said, I love-hate it. I hate it when it is dropping and love it when it is over.
It is a most excellent show for families with toddlers. I am surprised that you went in....
Yes, so am I!!! I wont be doing that again until I have kids.

Back in 2003 the girl's name was Jamie too. They are probably all Jamie...:confused3
I think they are all Jamie...is there a Jamie on the Disney channel show?? :confused3
I say if he can nap and feel better, go ahead. Cranky is not fun!
DF was very happy to read this response. He likes you, DM! :thumbsup2

Yay! Another tr to read.popcorn::

Cathy, how have you never been to MGM?? You must get there! I would love to be a DVC member one day..:cloud9: Some days were more humid than others in our opinion, but overall when comparing it to July, it was less humid. Especially to Jeff because he hates the Florida heat and humidity, but even he said it was bearable and made it through most of our park days.

Great report...my DD was very disappointed she could not ride the RnRc because of her height.

Congrats on your engagement...keep the pics coming!
Thanks for reading! I am sure your DD will love RnR once she is tall enough! :thumbsup2
Sounded like a good first day!!!
Yep, we couldn;t have asked for a better first day...unless I could take out Playhouse Disney! :lmao:

Sorry that you sat through Playhouse Disney- you certainly are not their target audience... but someday:) Glad RRC opened.... that would have been a bummer! Great pictures!

enjoying the TR. DH speaks abit, he lived in Italy for three years, Lavonro? His dad was stationed there, while DH was in High School(10-12) while there.
I rode the RNR on our trip to MGM on our first day there, Ryan(DS) and I that is was in the front car. He loved it, me I had my eyes closed, don't like roll coasters.

Enjoying your TR:goodvibes Can't wait for more especially
that "magical moment";) I love Beauty and the Beast too so
I thought I'd share my upcoming experience. I get to see the
very last nyc broadway showing of B&B!!! Yep, I won a raffle.
It is by invitation only. To say I'm excited is putting it lightly:cloud9:
Not as good as seeing the mouse but yet a once in a lifetime
event! Waiting for the next installment!:flower3:

Enjoying it!!! Thanks for writing, looking forward to more!!!

Hi everyone!! I promise I have not neglected my TR and I promise to get the next installment up hopefully by tomorrow!!

I wanna give an update on some wedding news. It looks as though DF and I have set a date: June 19, 2009. That date is special to us because it is the day we started dating and got engaged. We thought it would be cool to have our wedding on that day too!

DF and I also sat down and weighed down the pros and cons of having a Disney Wedding, unfortunetly the cons weighed out the pros. We live too far away and it would be hard to get our families to come down, and we obviously want to share our special day with them. We figured we can still have a Fairy Tale style wedding here at home and we have started contacting venues for our reception. :woohoo: Of course in true planning fashion, I have already set up a planning binder for our wedding. Anyone ever see the episode of Friends where Monica breaks out the Wedding Planning book, well is kind of like that except it is blank at the moment. :rotfl2:

But do not think Disney won't be part of our wedding celebration! We will definitley be having the ultimate Disneymoon and I cannot wait to sport those bridal ears!! :cutie: We even talked about one day doing a vow renewal at Disney.

I just wanted to share the news with everyone and let you guys know that the next chapter is coming up as soon as I can finish it!!

Thanks for reading everyone!! :grouphug:

AWWW Congratulations honey!! I'm looking forward to the rest of your TR and to your wedding planning! Remember to set up a Wedding Planning Journal on the Weddings Board if you haven't already done so :) So I can be nosy and hear all about it :rotfl: I love Friends :) Monica is the ultimate Bridezilla lol
