Today we decided to spend the whole day at Epcot.
First we had a wonderful breakfast at Kona's Cafe. Our first time eating there & we WILL be back!!!
After that we walked over to the TTC & hoped on the monorail to Epcot.
We were the only ones on the loading area so we asked the driver about sitting in the front. He was more then happy to let us. It was the first time for us sitting in the front going to Epcot. That is so cool seeing Epcot come into view.
If you have the chance ride in the front heading to Epcot.
We get to Epcot & wonder where all the people are??? We breeze right through check in & head over to Test Track. The park has already been open for about 15 mins so I am thinking Test Track is going to be busy but we walked right on to Test Track!! Now that was the FIRST for us!!!!
After that we headed to Mission Space. I asked my son if he wants to go on it but he declines. I believe the previews on the "must see 7 attractions" on TV in the resorts scared him. He said that people scream on that ride & he doesn't want to hear that. Well, I think he would have been OK but I don't push it. DH & I do the child swap. I go in first. WOW!!!! What a ride!!!! I started to feel just a tad 'funny' during the lift off but that went away pretty quickly.
After I was done I met up with DH in the play area of Mission Space (good idea Disney) DH goes in & he to gives it two thumbs up!!!! I still think DS would have liked it but maybe next time.
After that we decided to head up to World Showcase to hear some Santas. On the way we see Mickey & Goofy in the space gear. We get in line for pictures.
We head to Canada first, about 10 mins about Papa Noel is out so we go up and meet Koda & Kenai from Brother Bear. There was NO ONE else up there so we spent quite a few moments with them. We missed the start of Papa Noel since we were playing with the Bears too long!
So we headed over the United Kingdom & sat around until Father Christmas came out. We really loved listening to him. We headed to France after that & listen to Pere Noel also.
After that my son is BEGGING to go on to rides.
We decided that it is as much his vacation as it is ours so we said OK. We headed back & stopped on the way & listen to Papa Noel from Canada tell his story.
We then head off to HISTA. My son really wants to go on this but told me he is scared of the snake part. I told him at that part he can cover his eyes & he said OK. We walked right onto this ride also. We enjoy this show. My son did cover his eyes during the snake part but was totally fine.
After HISTA, my son is begging to go on the Universe of Engery ride. For some strange reason my son love ELLEN!!!!
Anyway we head over there, there is barely anyone else on it with us.
We then headed to Spaceship Earth, can't leave Epcot without riding Spaceship Earth!!!!
I looked at the clock & I really wanted to head back up to the World showcase to see St. Nicholas, the storyteller from Germany. It was a long walk but we made it in plenty of time.
After that we had to head back to the Garden Grill for our 5:30 PS. We had a lot of time before the PS so we decided to head into Food Rocks. We have never seen the show before. DH & I laughed our heads off!!!
We checked into the Garden Grill a little early but got seated pretty much right away.
I wasn't overly impresed with the food at the Garden Grill but the character interaction more then made up for it. Chip sat down right next to my son & proceeded to color with him. It was priceless!! Dale challenged DH to an arm wrestling match, DH let Dale win (of course!
) We had a GREAT time!!!
After meal we head over to the American Gardens for the 8:15 Candle Processional.
This was our first processional & I must say, I know why people go to that year after year. We loved it!!!!
My son was even in awe of it. The only thing he was so tired from the night before we fell asleep during the last 3 songs.
We deicded not to stay for IllumiNations & after the Processional head out back to the Monorail.
We walked back to the Poly from the TTC.
DH announces he NEEDS to go to Downtown Disney because he saw something there he wanted to get me for Christmas. So DS & I stay back. I put DS to bed & I relaxed a bit, took a nice HOT bath & just vegged out.
DH comes back with a HUGE bag.....I STILL don't know what he brought, I have to wait until Christmas
We had a wonderful day at Epcot. I was surprised the park was not that full for a Saturday. Maybe everyone was at Magic, who knows, but we had a wonderful day
Next day Animal Kingdom/Magic Kingdom
