Our Magical Mulligan Trip!!

My glands hurt. My throat hurts. My ears are plugged.
What I'm trying to say is this: I'm here, but I'm incapable of saying anything at all witty today. But...

your new installments rock! :thumbsup2

I love that you got your celebrity sighting, and Michael's pics just keep getting cuter and cuter, and I'm so glad your DH caved and wore the sweater, and I'm feeling your pain after several nights listening to the Burning Baby in lieu of sleep.

K, back to work and more meds...

Well, I know this won't make you feel better, but at least you're sick  NOW and not while you were on vacation, right?

Hope you feel better!!!

I finally read Where's Waldo right before I left - and it was awesome!! In fact, were your ears ringing? V and I were talking about your TR and how great it was!

I can lend you our sweaters...I'm sure DH would wear it well!! And stay tuned because I made him wear it not once but twice!!! :rotfl2:

I look forward to entertaining you more with my OCD ways!!! :teeth:

Ok, I got through it all.... and holy carp, I love it!

You know what... my ears were burning, but apparently not as the bad as the poor baby in the next to you!

Your Poly pics made me miss our Poly vacation. And you know what, the fridge in our rooms sucked... capital SUCKED. We too had crying kids in the room adjacent to ours and I can vouch those walls are thin!

Ok, the sweaters are actually cute. I'm going to show DH your pics when he gets home. Uh-oh... gotta go pick up DD from school. BUT... ala Arnie, I'LL BE BACK......

Ok, back....
You are too funny. I love your quirkiness... hey V, is that a word? I love how you handle DS & DH. :lmao:

I wish I could have sucked down a few Mai Tai with you girlies! Yeah, I'm inviting myself to the all girl trip! :teeth:

Okay I just spent hours (yes hours) reading about your dysfunctional trip. While I'm sorry it was such a crappy time, SO glad I read it. Just two days ago I was thinking about e-mailing my MIL and doing a family trip to Disney, complete with SIL! My hubby just came in the door and I raced down to tell him that my hillucinations (sp?) are over, and then proceeded to tell him about your thread... :rotfl:

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

Thank you, thank you very much!! I'm playing the Disboards all week. Don't forget to tip your waitress!!

Let’s see…where was I? Ah yes, I was up at 5 even though the Burning Baby kept me up most of the night. I don’t know what it is, but when I’m at Disney World I need very little sleep. I’m usually up no later than 5:15am, no matter how late I go to bed the night before, wide awake and ready to take on the World. Thus it’s very frustrating for me to have to wake the guys up EVERY morning. I don’t understand why they can’t get out of bed in the morning. So if you’d read my last TR, you can imagine my frustration when we weren’t out of the hotel until nearly 11am and THEN everyone insisted on sitting down to a meal…Argh…that just kills me. DH, on the other hand, doesn’t understand why I’m the way I am. How I can not be tired and dragging my butt in the morning? How can I be so annoyingly perky and have so much energy in the morning? That’s because I am The Mominator. A Disney Commando. I’ve been doing this most of my life. This is done by professionals only and should not be attempted by people who are not Dis-aholics.

And like yesterday, which drove me nuts, today is also going to be a slow, relaxing day. Great. Another one. I just kills me to sit in the hotel room when there are mountains to be conquered, parades to see, celebrities to stalk…:hyper:

I did this you see. It’s my own fault. I had a plan. It backfired. I had a 10am ADR at O’Hana’s and I’d also bought LaNouba tickets for the 6pm show so the rest of the day was wide open. I’d left room for down time on purpose as DH didn’t want me to plan – and I quote – “every single minute of” his vacation. My hope was that he’d WANT to do stuff within that down time. I’d hoped he’d surprise me and say, “Hey – let’s go to the Magic Kingdom for a few hours”, or something like that. Nope…didn’t happen. Not once.

We went to O’Hana’s for our 10am breakfast and got our picture taken and then went to wait for them to call our name. The place was a zoo and we were finally seated just at 10. We got there around 9:45 for check-in so I didn’t mind sitting for 15 minutes to get in on time. Our server Thuy was very nice and the food was pretty decent. It was “family style” which meant basically all in one pan. I didn’t eat too much…little bit of scrambled eggs, which were very good and the boys ate – well, they ate everything else. There wasn’t a single thing left on the pan.
100_3736.jpg

The character interaction was awesome here. We were visited at least twice by Mickey, Pluto, Stitch and Lilo and they were a lot of fun.

I love the tag on Pluto's collar...I take a picture of it every time I see him!
100_3744.jpg

DS got his autographs and was in a pretty good mood and seemed to be feeling a bit better.
100_3749.jpg

Not good enough to get up and join the little parade though. Can’t say I blame him – I don’t think I’d want to do it either, but the other kids looked like they were having fun.

After breakfast we were walking across the lobby and stopped to take a couple of pictures of the guys with the Lilo & Stitch surfboard when Mike from the DVC “kiosk” or whatever it’s called offered to take a picture of all 3 of us.
100_3759.jpg

Then he actually walked us around the lobby and putting us in different spots for pictures. He was very nice and surprisingly enough didn’t run away like he’d wasted his time when I told him we were already DVC members. I asked if he knew anything about when we could purchase points and did he happen to know how much they’d be sold for at the AKL but he didn’t really know too much yet. Don't you just love the Poly's lobby, by the way?
100_3756.jpg

He was very nice and we chatted for a few before heading back to our room for a little while. DH took a little nap while Michael watched some Disney Channel and I worked on my TR a bit and then went to the GCH and did a bit of shopping, mailing postcards, etc…

Around 2:15 we left for the bus stop to head to DTD. We had a 3:30 ADR at House of Blues and the bus didn’t come until nearly 3:00. I don’t know what it is about the buses this week. I have never really had much of a wait for buses before so this must’ve been unusual. I wasn’t really concerned though…our ADR was early enough that there probably wouldn’t be very many, if any, other people in the restaurant, so I felt comfortable with arriving a few minutes late.

Yep – just as I suspected…there were only 2 other tables occupied in the place. The food was good again though…I had the strip steak, which was awesome and DH got the ribs and DS had chicken….the food was good, the drinks were good, service was great…love that place. I really wanted the ribs, but I was wearing all white and the last time were at HOB and I had ribs – well, let’s just say it wasn’t a pretty outcome…I (may have) had too much to drink and dropped ribs on me – not once but twice. It wasn’t pretty!!

After dinner we had a bit of time to kill before going into the LaNouba theater so we wandered around a bit and, of course, took some pictures. Boy - a face like this sure can yank on mama's heartstrings, huh? I know I'm biased, but I think he's so cute...
100_3769.jpg

DS fell in love with the Petty racecar that he’d seen on our way in so we had to go back and see that later…I had to pinky swear on that one.

So we finally got into the LaNouba theater and the seats were great…5th row, center stage. There really isn’t a bad seat in the house, so if you’re considering going…no need to spend the additional money for up close seats. In fact, I think the next time we go – and we will definitely go back – I’ll get seats further back and up so I can take more in.

If you have never seen LaNouba, GO. Don’t let people like “So-and-So” tell you they didn’t like it. If someone says they don’t like it, be suspicious of their character and maybe broaden your social circle a bit more. Seriously. Can’t even tell you how much all three of us enjoyed the show. DS laughed his tiny butt off – so much so that he actually made adults around us laugh. The pre-show featured these 2 clowns that were very funny. You actually see them throughout the show and they’re a riot. They were DS’s favorite part. I’m NOT a fan of clowns and I liked these guys. In fact, the show is NOT just clowns – it’s dancing, acrobatics, gymnastics, etc…

When we took our seats, there were 2 people behind us that we were sure were going to be a “problem”…you know the type…they talk incessantly, complain about the children in attendance, the price they paid for the tickets, etc. We actually heard them complaining about DS sitting near them. They thought he’d ruin the show for them. They were disappointed at the number of children in the audience all together and were saying to each other comments like “These people must have a lot of money to waste to bring children here”, etc…They were 2 seats in from the end and no offense, but they – especially the woman, were HUGE…she should have paid for 2 seats. And she got mad that people hadn’t arrived BEFORE her because she had to get up a couple of times to let them pass. Then finally she was refusing to move. At all. And these poor people either had to climb OVER her or actually go around to enter their row from the other side. At one point, she had the nerve to tell this one man with small children that if he was going to make her make move one more time, that he’d better come back with food for her! She complained that the popcorn was the worst she ever tasted, yet she ate like they were going to take it away from her and like something out a cartoon, popcorn “debris” was flying all over the place on the journey from the container to her mouth…trying to get away, I suspect. DH and I finally made it clear, CRYSTAL clear, that their talking was annoying, that YES – we did pay a lot of money for these seats and we expected to be able to enjoy the show and that children BELONGED there and we’d be very PISSED if we heard them talking throughout the show…Message delivered, message received. We didn’t hear a peep out of them for the rest of the night. Although, every time she clapped I felt it in my seat as her knees were against the back of my chair.

I enjoyed it so much that it seemed to make the hair on my arms stand up…I loved it and can’t tell you that enough. In fact, I was still in the theater when I decided we’re going to go back and see it again. There’s so much going on throughout the show that you can’t just see it once. You need to see it a minimum 2 times. I wanted to buy the video, but didn’t for some reason and now I’m sorry. Oh and let it be known, I didn't break any rules and took NO pictures during the show!! I'm a reformed criminal now!

So long story short, the show was awesome…can’t wait to go back. They even give all the kids cushions for them sit on so they can see above the people in front of them. And they sell alcoholic drinks…Can’t beat that deal!!

Go. Enjoy it. Bring your kids. But I would only bring them if they’re 5 and up…it may be hard for them to sit still if they’re younger than that. And then see it again.

You won’t regret it!!

Anywho…after the show got out we wandered around Downtown Disney for a little while. Michael still wasn’t up to 100% so rather than hit Epcot for Illuminations, we decided to head back to the hotel. We ran into a couple of really, really TALL guys…they were a riot…very cool! And man can they move on those legs!
100_3779.jpg

100_3780.jpg

Michael wanted to go into Disney Quest, but A) he still really wasn’t feeling well and I didn’t want to drag him around and 2) I thought there were going to be some cool stuff in there that he’d want to do, but would be too small for, so we eliminated the risk of failure and ugliness and just skipped it all together.

He did manage to convince us to spend several minutes at the Petty racecar again so he could have somewhat of a Calvin Klein photo shoot on the hood of the car. What a ham the kid is…At least HE takes good pictures!
100_3787.jpg

Speaking of pictures...is it just me or is this picture....Blurry??? :rotfl2:
100_3791.jpg

The rest of the night was uneventful…we simply went back to the hotel and hung around. We had to get up early the next morning – it was EMH at the Magic Kingdom and I absolutely positively wanted to be there. I’ve warned the guys…You WILL get up EARLY!!

Goodnight my friends...

There's a great big beautiful tomorrow, Shining at the end of every day...:sunny:

Is anyone else having problems posting these days??

Each time I post something, the screen goes completely white and I have to hit my back button and then hit submit again.

I stayed up until 1:30am this morning finishing up my TR and as soon as I hit submit, it went nowhere, white screen again but this time the website went down and I had to re-do it all again this morning!!:furious:

All day yesterday I had to continually re-write all of my posts as they were "disappearing" several times!!

GRRRRRRRRRRR......................

I know that Pete is switching servers, so things are moving fast, and I think it is just a glitch.

Hey, I've had natural curly hair my whole life. My hair never grew straight down. About a year ago, my hair started growing straight. When I look in the mirror, I see a flat head. My stylist said it happens sometimes when women go through menopause. So be careful what you wish for. My younger sister is loosing her hair and she was told it was hormones too.

I have to say, I've never gone because what I've seen on TV didn't really excite me. BUT. Based on my DS's love of all things acrobatic and gymnastic and, well, show-stopping, this sounds like a must-see in our future!

Welcome back Mama!!!

I seriously think a chick trip is in order....I told DH about it...

DH - Well, if you get to go away, so can I
Me - Great - take your cousin to the Hilton Head resort, play golf
DH - I was thinking SSR
Me - No way...you're not wasting our points on playing golf
DH - Oh, oh so YOU'RE going to use our FAMILY points on a chick trip?
Me - No, I thought maybe I'd stay at POR or something. I've been wanting to stay at POR...
DH - Oh, so now this is going to cost MORE money??

Anybody else think this conversation is going somewhere familiar!?!?! :lmao:

Then, the conversation took a SLIGHT turn...

Me - Only a little bit of money - I can get an AP rate!
DH - Fine...I'm going to Vegas
Me - You're not going to Vegas without me...I'm dying to go to Vegas. No way...you are NOT going to Vegas without me
DH - (with arms crossed across his chest and big pouty face) You're not the boss of me...
:sad2: Real mature, eh?

Wonder where he gets that from?? :teeth:

Just found this TR. Yeah, I'm slow. That last picture, um, I think if you have a few drinks it will look clear! LOL! Poor guy. My dh doesn't do the best pictures either, hence why it's always me doing it too!

Great installment...It's not just you, I think your DS is adorable too! DH and I saw La Nouba a few years ago, maybe it's time to see it again! :thumbsup2

Your DS is tooooo cute!!! :thumbsup2

I love the the way he hams it up for the camera (kinda tilts his head to the side), he and my DD8 must be kindred cousins cuz she does the exact same thing and has since she was three!

Great installment BTW! :cool1:

Here's another tactic to try: FREE. DINING. In truth, I don't know how much of a savings it would be as compared to an AP rate, but your DH doesn't know that! ;)
