100% This! I was worried that the Epcot area wouldn't feel "magical" but boy was I wrong!!! We simply LOVED this area and the feeling around it. I think this is why I am so OK in giving DH his BWI CL pick....it's my way of staying in the area again without staying in the same resort!

When the new website was up with dining early this year Wanyama Safari was available with the dining ressies on the WDW website. I wondered how that would work if non-AKL peeps tried to reserve it that way. We booked it for May but then if you remember I was deathly sick for our whole AKL stay so we cancelled some good ADRs and poor DH ate a lot of Mara stew and I ate crackers. Keep me posted how you like it if you decide to do it.

Yup! Agree. I sent a long time friend who requested the WDW dirt for planning their summer trip lots of information and I don't even know if they went to WDW at all!!! Other people I know think I am nuts for planning the "big stuff" so far in advance but after one trip without getting any ressies or ADRs they wanted, they quickly come over to the dark side.

True to form, you are a packing-cube goddess!! ...... OK, so I have a few irons in my WDW fire. So far I have a little weekend stay in Oct for my bday at SSR (if we positively can't make it to NC mountains that week due to workload). I have 2 Decembers ressies booked: one early Dec at POFQ, and 2 nights the weekend before Christmas with my DB at CSR business class (DB loves CSR). Next, 2014 brings FWC in late Feb/Mar for DH bday/our anniv trip. And then BWI is already booked for next August.

MAGIC Well when I told Bob what the Safari cost his eyes about popped out of his head, even after explaining it wasn't bad since you got dinner at Jiko's
So that idea is on Hold for now anyhow.

Then he shot down staying POFQ too. I think he was PMSing (picky man syndrome)

Okay so ladies talk me out of this, if we switched to 2 rooms at POP (or any value) or a family suite at ASM as of right now our resort portion of November trip would be PIF. Should we do it?? It would certainly take the pressure off the milltary like vacations saving we are doing currently.

But we do have a lot of dinners at Epcot, and I don't know, i really loved that area. But for $$$ more.....I am not sure.

I know DH will say leave it alone again, but I can pretty much persuade him to do anything.

jenny see that is my problem I love the Epcot area too but I want to go back for F&G so that means March I will have enough for our flights between credits and FF points so if we cut back this trip and do a Mod in March it might work out.

This is exactly why we do stuff like letting them bring cash into a store, buy something and determine how much change they are supposed to be getting back before the cashier gives it to them. (I usually pick a line with no one in it, because at their age sometimes it takes awhile )

But, yeah, no real old school learning going on....And it's hard for DH and I because we didn't learn that way. So when we try to explain things the way WE do it, we get a whole bunch of

Miss weather is changing today still humid a little cooler and a cold front trying to come in, thank God for my naselnex it helps some.

I guess I lucked out being right-handed one less thing for the nuns to correct.

do you live in Boca? When we were visiting my mom, my hotel was in Deerfield, just off Hillsboro. Boca was just up the road. Went to Nordstrom Rack, lol.

We stayed in Pop our first night. I knew we weren't going to be in hotel much. Had TL day after we checked in. Then Publix shop, dropped off groceries at YC to hold till our arrival. Then we were planning a DHS night. But we pooped out, and just went back to Pop and slept. We were up at 5:00 am to get an early start on the Turnpike.

Really, it wasn't bad. We were in bldg 6, last room, ground floor, by lake. Too bad the buildings have no lake views!
I thought the beds were very comfy. It was just me & daughter. So I had the bed to myself.

That is the problem isn't it...the voice of reason can go either way. . I really don't know why I am so on the fence. I just feel spoiled by doing a cruise and then BWI CL....and that I should downgrade myself. Like I don't deserve it, but that is a whole other self esteem issue on my part.

DH also reminded me we are also making an extra mortgage payment per month in our effort to get it paid off. So really we are not irresponsible. We deserve it.

Sorry those ECV'S are such a pain Sheila, and people think they are just the ticket to get to the front of the lines. please, if they had to deal with it they would realize.

If I knew you were so close by, we could have had a meet!! I'll be back down in Late January, this time booked a room in Coral Springs ( subject to change of course, lol) in Jan I'm NOT going into the ocean, so the lure of staying at the beach isn't as strong and will only be there 4 nights Pre WDW. My mom lives in Coral Springs, so this will be closer for a short visit. And I can console myself that the Coral Place Mall is across the street. And all those restaurants on University!

jenny I would give anything to not need to use one. My COPD got really bad during our trip to Vegas in 2007 and by time we got to DL we borrowed a WC to use then in 2009 we borrowed a WC at OKW but both those times My DS and Ddil were along to push me, I had to rent the ECV last year no way Bob could push me around the parks.

Enjoy life to the fullest jenny while you are young, your DH is right you need to treat yourself. You never know when Fate will raise its ugly head

jenny I saw that people we able to make their MB. I changed resorts so of course BWI got them

AKL is in the Oct test far as I know so should be in Nov if they don't stop it on 10/31 as some rumors say

I linked our tix from UT but there not showing on the reservation page but do show up on Bob's and My individual MDE accounts. I called IT they said make sure we are both shareing everything.......yep we are

Others are having the same problem it is a "glitch" why am I not surprised? So I guess. Will have to call back

I even did online checkin thinking maybe that might trigger something, modified online checkin as some said to do still nothing

I'm at 51 days maybe too early? I've seen some say 30 days out?

Sheila: I just logged onto DH's aunts MDE page and low and behold the Magicbands popped up today!! She is staying at POFQ and arriving Oct 10, so she is 27 days out. I think we have a bit of a wait still to pick ours?

She hasn't been to anywhere since DH's Nana passed, or Disney in years, but is the one who convinced me to go the first time in 2010. So I really hope this makes her trip easier and less hassled.

(We only have 1 ADR, and that's Raglan Road on our arrival night). I just don't want to.....

As of now if you are at a test resort they will give you a MB at check in if you haven't ordered one ahead of time. It will be gray. They will also give you the standard room key in case the MB doesn't work. I' ve been doing a little testing. I've scheduled my FP+ with the MB, used my current room key, my AP card and get this I've also been able to use my old expired room key for FPs. So in if I wanted I could have 7 FPs at the same time! Now I haven't done this cuzz it's such a slow time I really haven't needed many FPs at all. Also I'm now at OKW which is not a test resort but my magic band stll works. It's crazy!

I think I'm safe! I just read that check-in's at POFQ starting 9/30/13 will get the Magic Bands. We have two check in dates, 9/27 and 9/29, so I don't think we will get one.

Is you MB still valid for charging if your not at a test resort? Or is it only good for park admission and FP+? Curious because we have back to back weekends coming up and our first one is at Pop (for now) and we did get MBs.
